I hear he was NJ's 2nd best prospect, behind Parise. Now that's the kind of trade I wanted to see. Good for you, JFJ (for a change).

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=157703&hubname=nhl Oh my fuck. The Leafs have acquired Luke Richardson. Good job Ferguson, a slow, over-the-hill, 37 year old defenceman who's making 2 million a year is just what the doctor ordered. You fucking idiot.

Also, Mariusz Czerkawksi was waived by Toronto and subsequently claimed by Boston. I am hardly a fan of his at all, but I didn't think Quinn gave him much of a fair shake so I hope he can at least get some more playing time with the Bruins. It's funny, Czerkawski has had multiple 30 goal seasons but he rots in the press box... meanwhile O'Neill (another 30 goal scorer) stinks (and I mean STINKS) it up all year long and was only a healthy scratch once.

Yeah, Roloson's record is VERY deceiving. His personal stats are solid enough, but for some reason Minnesota is playing worse in front of him than with Manny Fernandez in goal. Per 60 minutes, Roloson faces 33.5 shots against, much higher than Manny's 28.6 shots against. Teams that allow over 30 shots per game generally don't win much unless they're very powerful on offense. If Roloson plays for Edmonton like he has with Minnesota, they should be in fairly good shape.

So nice it had to posted thrice. I'd hate to see Tucker go, but you've got to give to get, and the Leafs need to rebuild. Tucker is awesome but he turns 31 in just over a week from now. Some good years left but still... If the Leafs are having a firesale, they'd better trade McCabe, too. He's only ever played great when paired with Kaberle, anyway.

I dreamt last night that I killed an ugly, vicious dog by strangling him underwater. Most violent dream I've had in awhile.

Right. I'm the man for the job. This place needs more Bolsheviks.

Lindros is officially done for the season. His wrist was bothering him again, so he came out of the game and now he is going to have surgery on it. Just as I figured.

Чэв/chave has me down to a tee. I figured as much, too. Prieka! -
Yeah. I just barely turned avatars back on, after having them off for a long, long time. Now I remember why I had them off in the first place. Not that I care about whats-her-face one way or another but I usually get sick of seeing the same avatars (especially the over-the-top goofy images) over and over again.

I might as well bump this since the NHL season resumes tomorrow (and the day after, a thread for the month of March should be created). NHL Games Scheduled for February 28, 2006 (in Eastern Time): Montreal at NY Islanders, 8:00 PM Washington at Toronto, 8:30 PM Florida at Tampa Bay, 8:30 PM Minnesota at Colorado, 9:00 PM Vancouver at Calgary, 9:00 PM Detroit at San Jose, 10:30 PM

Yeah. I want to switch intelligence agencies.

Not to mention having an actual ABOVE AVERAGE Swedish goalie. Note how close the Finns came to tying the game at the end. Tommy Salo had a good season or two, but off-hand I can not think of one other decent Swedish goalie (besides Lundqvist) to come along since Pelle Lindbergh. And coming back to Toronto will be like a bad hangover for Sundin, yes. It's nice to see him win something, anyway, he deserves it.

The Bruins deserve to be contracted from the NHL if they do that.

I thought there was something amiss about the calling of that goal when I was watching the highlights.

Los Angeles, San Jose, Dallas, Tampa Bay have had pretty good attendance over the past few years (Dallas & San Jose attendance have been rocl solid ever since they their got teams, actually) and Florida's doesn't seem too bad either, for a non-playoff team.

I might not hate shootouts so much if the Leafs, you know, didn't ABSOLUTELY SUCK ASS at them.

You seem like a catankerous old codger yourself, kkk.
