They do have banners up for the Stanley Cups won by the original Senators (I didn't know myself how many; I do know that the original team won the Cup 10 times in total, including pre-NHL era). There is no Cup banner yet for the current Sens franchise though. CC, I guess I mistook your comments earlier or something and it didn't help that I saw it in the context of crazy ol' Leena's post. You usually seem to be a more level-headed Sens fan anyway. Yet I see many other Senator fans acting like they're a dynasty in the making, something that annoyed me every single time the Leafs went up against them in the playoffs in the past.

Spoken like a true Sens fan. When you get to that many days off, I don't having an extra 2 off over the opposition makes a difference. And Buffalo (much as I hate them and their fans MORE) still has won about as much in their history as the Sens, you guys haven't won the Cup yet.

Exactly. I get a kick out of those Western Canadian fans (Oilers/Flames/'Nucks) who fervently root against the Leafs and taunt us and then whine when us Leaf fans don't support them. I don't think Ottawa or Montreal fans ever act like we owe them anything though. Cheering for an NHL team for patriotism reasons is kind of silly IMO. What, Leaf fans are the only ones who use that cliche? I absolutely could not picture Toronto in the playoffs, so it was easy to see that the Devils who had nothing left to play for in the reg. season (thus Clemmenson got the start over MAR-TAN BRO-DOOR), were going to lose to the Isles. Devils just had to tie it up with .8 secs left and then lose it in a shootout, but I didn't have a heart attack over it. No point in the Leafs getting in just to be swept silly by the Sabres, except for MLSE to take a little playoff money and laugh all the way to the bank. Now that it's three years since they last made the postseason, maybe they'll start to think about firing that worthless GM - but I doubt it. Oh yeah, I guess I'll be hopping on the Sharks & Pens (just for one round) bandwagon for the playoffs...

That's what Avery's job is to do. He's the type of player that will get under the skin of the opposing player and make them draw penalties on them. There are players like that on almost every team. He's the ghuy you hate tomplay against but love when he is playing for you. Very true, and I was waiting for somebody here (like redbaron, heheh) to call me out for being a hypocrite. Much as it pissed me off, if anyone deserved to have their own shit thrown back at them, it'd be Tucker. Although Avery wasn't so much giving him his medicine as he was playing his own game, which is very similar to Tucker's. Avery looks like he is the better actor though, not to mention a bigger mouth.

I don't know if I ever posted mine at TSM but I remember having the Flyers in the playoffs, I think among the lower 4 seeds but I also felt that they had a decent chance of winning their division as well. Few people thought they were going to miss out on the postseason, and you'd be called crazy if you said Philly would suck so badly like they do now.
