Yeah, Starstruck has a bunch of ECW dvd's going at around 30 bucks too. I got lucky and bought a Gladiator Challenge 4 pack for 17 bucks (it's actually cheaper on-line, but convenience makes up for it). I hear that Walmart carries a bunch of good stuff, but I rarely ever see it around here.

Starstruck Entertainment in Square 1 is the best place I've been to for videos. They have King of the Cage and Gladiator Challenge DVD's as well as the aforementioned NWA Florida and FOW and 2 JCW dvds. The HMV in S1 also carried UCC DVD's (2 of them, not there anymore) and Sunrise carried some PRIDE dvd's as well (not anymore). I've had some luck in finding old school WWF, WCW, and UFC tapes at local video rental stores (I even found an IFC tape w/ Igor Vovchanchyn vs. Paul Varlens on it ~sweet~), but that's all for rental (though I have been able to purchase some tapes from the stores at a pretty good price)

Well, that will be stuck in my head all night. Welcome to the club... why do you think I posted it??? RRR: Misery loves Company... you can dance if you want to...
-
I don't think the _whole_ series was a book, I thought it was because Dan died so Roseanne decided to write about this fantasy world...
-
In today's cartoon world, I doubt it.

We can dance if we want to, We can leave your friends behind Cause your friends don't dance And if they don't dance Well they're no friends of mine (I say) We can go where we want to, There's a place they'll never find And we can act like we come From out of this world Leave the real one far behind, And we can dance. Ah we can go when we want to, The night is young and so am I And we can dress real neat From our hats to our feet And surprise 'em with the victory cry (I say) We can act if want to, If we don't nobody will And you can act real rude and totally removed And I can act like an imbecile I say, we can dance, we can dance Everything's out control We can dance, we can dance We're doing it pole to pole We can dance, we can dance Everybody look at your hands We can dance, we can dance Everybody's takin' the chance Safety dance Oh well the safety dance...

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
I'm still workin on the "1Dave" comment. I'm actually looking forward to christmas based on "Buffy Season 5" and "Firefly" boxsets on my wishlist... how fucked is that? RRR: Descending into Whedon Nerdom. RRR: In denial and doesn't think being able to come up with a dozen episode titles is nerdy... though at one time did... -
Not to mention they killed off Dan in the last episode with a "after Dan died". I'm not a huge fan of the show - though I did watch my fair share of it... I wouldn't list it in my top 20 or anything.
-
I dunno about this (I haven't seen the trailer, but the concept itself..). The appeal of Astroboy was it's deep and dark storytelling and gratuitous violence and death... I doubt this new series will have either.

Rizzo is like, 10x's the standup fighter, that Sylvia is. If we're looking at "this guy beat this guy" and judging the fight, Sylvia will win. Sylvia destroyed both Rodriguez and McGee (Rodriguez beat Arlovski, McGee beat Rizzo, Rizzo beat Arlovski). However, Arlovski is probably the best stand-up fighter Sylvia has ever faced, so since "styles makes fights", Arlovski has a pretty good chance. As for Tito/Chuck, Tito has seen that Chuck is _clueless_ on his back, so a weakness has been exposed and all he has to do is exploit it.
-
Funny, I'm looking more forward to Arlovski vs. Sylvia than I am Chuck vs. Tito.. Randy Couture: Destroyer of Feuds

1) He's generalizing. The "critics" whom I read are nothing like that. 2) "A good wrestling match is determined by the crowd response" is kinda silly. Yes, wrestling was made for entertainment purposes - other wise it wouldn't be worked - however entertainment is subjective. If the Chris Benoit vs. Steve Austin match from Smackdown hadn't been from Edmonton - would they have gotten the same crowd heat? Same match, same wrestlers, different town, different heat.

RHETORICAL QUESTION MOLE! STOP ANSWERING MY RHETORICAL QUESTIONS! BAD GIMMICK! BAD GIMMICK! -
Bob Sapp is basically the guy the WWE wished Mark Henry would have been. Cept for, you know, a good wrestler... but then again, I don't think the WWE wished for Mark Henry to be one

The Christmas SmackDown from Iraq...
RavishingRickRudo replied to BifEverchad's topic in The WWE Folder
Oh, pfft. What does crowd have to do with the match quality? This subject is more on crowds that match quality. My comments on Hogwild 96 are strictly crowd-related. -
--Dustin Runnels got his release early from WWE so he's available for indy bookings as well as live appearances and wrestling seminars. Apparently he can't use the Goldust character, as he's going to use the ring name "Lonestar" Dustin Rhodes, as is looking to be booked in tag team matches with his father. [email protected] is the booking agent for Dusty & Dustin, Jerry Lawler, Al Snow or Jonathan Coachman. LONESTAR! YEAH! The Schwarz is with him! Barf! Dusty Helmet! OH SWEET JESUS THAT RULES!!! Oh.. wait... he's not "lonestar" in THAT way.. is he?

When you have it, post the Tribute Here

Yeah, they actually got around to acknowledging Crash Hollys death - must've been a huge inconvenience. -
I first started watching when UFC 2 came out 10 years ago. Then the blackout happened. Come 2001 when Zuffa took charge and got UFC back on PPV and Pride as well, and I got back into it. This past year I got heavily into it, saw nearly every Pride, purchased a few shows on PPV . Those shows - the ones I chose in my first post (specifically Pride Final Conflict, UFC 44, Pride Total Elimination) - blew me the fuck away when I first saw them. Blew me away like _nothing_ in wrestling has - except for maybe a live ECW show (that also counts live Hogan vs. Rock WM 18). It got to the point to where I physically was jumping around the living room going NUTS. So yeah, I'll take the experience and excitement of watching a great MMA show over a wrestling show anyday. It's on a totally different level.

Roadwild/Hogwild/Suckwild, whatever. -
I have no idea. They did the rain thing in PRIDE Final Conflict as well - but it was better done and was contrasted with fire. Best. Set. Ever.

It's been a while since I watched the piece-of-shit that is Pride 9. I like the history of Pride though; the guy talking sounds like he has a cold... Sak vs. Royce... YOU BASTARD!!!!! I'm supposed to be transferring and burning that to VCD right now... RRR: Had the option to pick from Pride 9, 10, 11, and the 2000 Grand Prix... STILL chose 9... the Newton match was under a minute and the Belfort match was sooooo boring... STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!
