YOU SONNOFABITCH!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!!! Wait, didn't Eddie Bravo do PBP for that show?? ... I'll let you suffer! The DVD extras for the shows up until - i believe - Pride 19 are all the same (history of Pride, fighter Bios), so really, the only thing you are getting with the DVD version is quality of picture... yeah, that's the ticket...

    The Christmas SmackDown from Iraq...

I enjoyed the WCW Shows w/ the pool surrounding it.

Shit, I saw some DVD's up here at Starstruck entertainment (in Square 1, GO THERE) that I _never_ see anywhere else (Gladiator Challenge 8 pack, some MLW DVD's - or some Florida promotion - JCW dvds, King of the Cage DVD's... they don't sell PRIDE DVD's though RRR: Has one Pride DVD.... Pride 9... *smacks head*... I could have had Pride 10 but I chose 9 because it had Carlos Newton and Vitor Belfort on it... WAS I EVER SO YOUNG??!?!

Vengeance shouldn't have had low expectations going into it. The WWE tends to do their big 3 ways well, Benoit vs. Guerrero and Team Angle vs. Filthy Animals were guaranteed to be "good" - 3 matches on the show that were *** gimmies. Taker vs. Cena delivered - IMO - better than any of them (I had high expectations for the tag match - and I had the misfortune of reading a review of Benoit/Guerrero by Frank Jewett which tore it apart and I couldn't help noticing the things he wrote), so I don't get how there were low expectations for the show (didn't get it then either). As for my earlier comment, I'm lucky LOTC buys the DVD's of the "good shows" and I get to mooch off him

Pride SUCKS at coming out with DVD's. They're just getting around to releasing PRIDE 20: Armed and Ready. Each show generally has a really good match on it (usually due to Sakuraba - his match with Carlos Newton has better mat wrestling than you will see in 99% of pro wrestling), but the ones I recommend have at least 3 which make it worth watching. www.sherdog.com is selling em cheap (10 bucks), Pride 10 - Is probably the most recommended show for newcomers to Pride. It features a lot of “old stars” (which, given the turnover rate of stars in MMA, is only after 3 years) and really got the ball rolling for PRIDE. Mezger/Silva, Vovchanchyn/Inoue, Sakuraba/Renzo are all really freakin good matches. Plus there are some _sick_ KO’s in it. Pride 12 - Silva vs. Henderson rules. Sakuraba vs. Gracie is really good. This was the first Pride a friend-of-mine saw and he became instantly hooked. Pride 14 - Daijiro Matsui vs. Pele is really, really good. Shoji vs. Henderson is non-stop. Silva continues to build his reputation. Mezger vs. Liddell is back-and-forth action with a sick finish. Pride 17 - a really awesome bout between Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and Heath Herring. One of the best heavyweight fights you will see. This is the show where they determine the 2 champions (Heavyweight and Middleweight) and it’s in the Tokyo Dome so the atmosphere is amazing. This show has a lil bit of everything on it and features mainly current fighters. - these are the top 4. If you can get Pride 19 and 20, do so. Newton vs. Pele is stunning, as is Ninja vs. Sperry. But the _really_ awesome shows have came out this year. Pride 25 was _the_ best show I've seen *ever* up until Pride Final Conflict... and had those 2 not happened this year, Pride Total Elimination would have taken the cake... so we're talkin about 3 shows in the top 5 in this year alone. That's like... unheard of. Which is why I had to bring it up in this thread... yeah, THAT'S why...

Dude, I SO was going to be one of the first 5 people who posted in this - but I figured I might be coming off too strong and decided to wait a while so these lower-forms-of-life-that-are-WWE-PPV-purchasing-fans could discuss their crappy shows.. Didn't want to come off too strong, you see

Method Man, Redman Team for FOX Sitcom

Why can't they do something really original - black guys in the ghetto - but this is the jewish ghetto and they've time travelled back to the 1930's! It'll be like The Pianist, but with Rap instead of a piano and more shootings! OY VIZZEY!

There's only 2 matches that I would highlight for Vengeance and that would be the tag match w. Team Angle and Taker vs. Cena. Benoit/Guerrero was crap, and the 3 way was *shudders*.... Anywho, Pride Final Conflict Pride 25: Body Blow Pride Total Elimination UFC 43 UFC 44 Pride 26: Bad to the Bone *shrugs* Whuddya expect? MMA murdered Wrestling this year in terms of quality shows.

For the "Slayers should be paid" - look at the way the Slayer came about; the Watchers have no regard for the Slayers - the exception is Giles.

    Roster cuts

I'll just note that Vince makes at least $2 million a year. About $750,000 has president, then another $750,000 for performance, then another $1,000,000 from dividends. Linda takes in about half that. Steph and Shane triple dip as well.

Fuck it. *unleashes the beast* SAPP TIME! Sapp owned on Leno too. Should have had 2 segments - the crowd loved him.

    2003 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award

If anything, Dave and all his puppets are biased towards MMA. If Bob Sapp was in the WWE, do you think he would get all the love that they give him? No, they'd be complaining about how he only gets a push because he's a big hoss and so on. The "Bob Sapp Love" comes from his relative importance to the business he is in. When Bob Sapp is on a show, that shows numbers - attendance wise, ratings wise, buyrates wise - shoots up like no_other_performer in wrestling or MMA today. They are forecasting HUGE numbers for the Sapp/Akebono fight New Years Eve that will put it above everything before it. Bob Sapp was on the cover of Time Asia, he was featured on Jay Leno and the Wall Street Journal. His importance in Japan DWARFS anything that anyone in Wrestling has become in the states. Besides, the WWE hasn't _touched_ PRIDE this year. In anything.

I actually think the brand extension..

They haven't even done a press conference in regards to a trade. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SPLIT!

I didn't find Dragons build-up to be very good. It seemed like a cheap imitation of Rey's from the year previous. You could pretty-much-well-tell by his opening theme that he was doomed (Standard Japanese Music, "dragon" sounds *shudders*)
