Season 5 starts to make a lot of sense and it's true brilliance is shown after you watch the last eps. "The Gift". Buffy vs. Dracula, on the surface, seems to be a throw-away gimmicky episode, but it establishes some themes that are constant throughout the season.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
I thought the "Buffy won't choose you" thing was obvious - in Season 5 Buffy chose Dawn over saving the world. In Season 7, she wouldn't. It's about loyalty. It's about breaking up the family. This lead to Dawn not chosing Buffy and kicking her out of the house. -

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw 11/24
RavishingRickRudo replied to The Dames's topic in The WWE Folder
Wow.. Sgt. Slaughter... was Michael Hayes too tired? Lance Storm IS the worst actor ever. Rosie IS the best actor on RAW and they should do so much more with him. Unselfish/Spineless, whatever. I can't stand all the cheap plugs for their crap. I would rather it be REAL cheap with a wink and nod rather than insulting. How about Rosie and Hurricane drinking it to become super strong? Cade has a pretty sweet elbow drop. The stunt with the belt after the match was the best thing on the show IMO. I dug HHH/Goldberg right up until it got screwy. Nice, slow-but-constant pace, with lil bits of neat psychology in it. How many times must Goldberg get beaten up? It's getting ridiculous. *Goldberg walking down the hall* *Gets jumped and beaten down by security guards* *Goldberg in the hospital* *Gets jumped and beaten down by nurses* *Goldberg leaves Hospital and hails a taxi* *Gets jumped and beaten down by taxi drivers* *Goldberg goes to a church to escape* *Gets jumped and beaten down by nuns and priests.* -

Season 5 Dawn was fine. Dawn-in-everything-after-that-especially-the-last-shot should just go away. -
Randy Savage to do interview
RavishingRickRudo replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in The WWE Folder
Actually, Eddie was over big time THEN they turned him heel to which he was over even more (fans didn't accept it). They then did nothing with him and didn't capitalize on his popularity by setting him up for a ME run so he is where he is today... still in the same position he was around WM time. -
Or they could lighten the schedule... whatever.

I dunno where you would place Shamrock in wrestling terms. He was a "pioneer", a draw, and had influence on many, but wasn't nearly as 'successful' as his peers.

A JANITOR! NO! He is brought in as a Russian Killer but everyone is confused by his mild-mannered behaviour... until they see him in the ring, where he coldly destroys everyone in his path. The Janitor

I felt that way before seeing your sig, Mole. He was at an uncomfortable distance. I know Anya died and all, but fuck, they started it, they finish it, fuck dawn. -
Um, beating someone who won a tournament and winning a tournament are two entirely different things. Fact is... Shamrock entered 3 UFC tournaments and never won one. And I don't disagree with Shamrocks placement in the UFC HOF - I just don't think it should be for his fighting in the UFC.. because he wasn't very accomplished in the octagon.

WWE controversy, Trish on OTR and Flair overseas

The WWE is completely deserving of this, I don't see how it's the groups "fault". Hell, Vince McMahon and his obsession with sticking his tongue down all of his female employees throat alone is worth an outrage from a feminist organization. -

Of course, I don't like how they left the series off (as evidenced in that picture in Moles Sig) with Xander standing far off in the back - it should have been Buffy, Xander, and Willow at the front. -
The IC title is and will always be worthless. It hasn't had value for a decade.

Kurt Angle recruiting Bret Hart
RavishingRickRudo replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm referring to Angle. It's totally selflish and stupid of him to try and bait Bret into a match. Kurt is willing to die in the ring, but that doesn't mean everyone else is. -
They never once said, "HHH will be returning at Vengeance." Not once. He was all over the advertisements, but nobody said with their mouths that he was coming back at the PPV. So? Courts not only rule on literal meaning but "general impression" as well when dealing with Advertising. I should know, I just had a test on it in Marketing Law 45 minutes ago

Xander was the only one who really stepped into adulthood, though. He's the only one who had a car and a business (well, cept for Giles). He represented the everyman. You could make the case that Xander was the true hero of the series... you'd be wrong cause it was Buffy, but you could still make the case -
Which is utterly ridiculous. "Throw in the towel" "Why don't you just give up?" "I can't give up! I'd look like a pussy! Throw in the towel!" "Isn't you asking for the towel to be thrown in an admission of loss? Thus making you not only a pussy, but a total goof as well?" "NO! Throw in the towel dammit!" Shamrock has also been in 2 of the WORST MATCHES EVER (vs. Gracie UFC 5, vs. Severn UFC 9). IMO, his only real accomplishment in the UFC was beating Dan Severn the first time. I don't know about Pancrase because it has the "worked" stigma surrounding it (their earlier years, I have heard). I don't exactly consider it "true" MMA because it restricts closedfists, but it certainly has historical value.
