*wipes tear from eye* Goodbye Underfedor.
-
*sigh* Eddie has never been in the uppercard. For Eddie to be a convincing ME threat he would need one or two big transitional uppercard feuds to elevate him. Since the time of his "breakthrough" with the fans, he has held on to the US Title... The *midcard* title. He has feuded with Tajiri, Rhyno, Benoit, Cena, and Big Show. Each of these feuds were seriously underdeveloped and Eddie was not elevated a single bit. Had he actually beaten Big Show tonight, then he would need one more Upper Midcarder to feud with before making it to the main event (basically either Kurt Angle, Undertaker, or Vince McMahon). Chris Benoit, on the otherhand, has been in the uppercard and main event on 3 occasions. Once with Rock, once with Austin, and once with Angle. The Austin and Rock feuds were when the WWE was still "hot", therefore a large group of fans can see Benoit as a reasonable Main Eventer. The match with Angle showed that Benoit could be a reasonable title holder as the fans were all over it (as they were with Austin). The "jump" for the fans' believability is much less greater with Benoit as it is with Guerrero. Had the WWE actually worked hard in elevating Guerrero since Spring/Summer turn-around, then a case could be made for Guerrero main eventing Survivor Series. But they didn't, and Guerrero isn't credible enough to become a threat to Brock Lesnar.

Eddie has been the centrepiece? Since fucking when?
-
That's what low expectations can do.
-
Benoit vs. Lesnar would be a better match and the two haven't faced eachother on television. Eddie vs. Brock has already happened. Benoit won tonight, Eddie Lost.

Don't forget about being carried out on the shoulders of the top smackdown superstars.
-
So what are the odds that Steph will show up on Smackdown??
-
How was Taker's triangle choke(s) anyways?
-
I dig Undertauro - I didn't see the PPV cause well, I prefer Minotauro so I just buy Pride and UFC. I really liked Taker vs. Brock NM 02, and didn't figure this would be that good because of the chain (I don't buy Chain shots - they don't make a noise like a chair)... but they barely used it. I was diggin Taker back in 01 when he was doing all of his high-end armwork, but then he turned heel and that went out the door.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Holtz was a cool villain. Season 3 was when everything was coming together and they were setting stuff up for season 4. -
They wanted Cena to win via screw job. They weren't happy with Linda throwing in the towel and the match was overbooked. Albert vs. Benoit was sloppy. Taker vs. Brock was boring and overbooked. It might take them a while to jump on the Taker bandwagon. They liked Rey and Tajiri. Dan calls the Yakuza, the "Yazuka".

Yeah, it's weird. The Law loved Unforgiven too IIRC.

WWE Hires New "Talent" or "Host"
RavishingRickRudo replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm gonna bump this since Rue is going to be announcing on Velocity from now on.. *I bring thee to LIFE!* -
A lil bit more on "Rue" *shudders* Rue a new addition to SmackDown! brand by Phil Speer EL PASO – Aug. 26, 2003 – There’s a new co-host on After Burn. Joining Josh Mathews on the syndicated SmackDown!-brand program is New Jersey native Rue. “I feel very honored and blessed because it’s an incredible opportunity and an incredible company,” Rue said. “There’s so much done here in a day that (other) people spend months and weeks to work on.” She would know. Before coming to WWE, the 5-foot-9 brunette worked extensively in other entertainment industries. In fact, when she was just 13 years old, she won the teen female vocalist competition on “Star Search,” competing under her full name, Ruthann DeBona. She attended Barnstable Academy, a performing arts school in Glen Rock, N.J., and subsequently signed a recording contract with Polygram Records. She joined a group, Boy Krazy, and the pop quartet released a self-titled album in the early 1990s. The group’s single, “That’s What Love Can Do,” was the No. 1 song in the U.S., displacing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” on the charts. A world tour followed. Four years later, Rue left the group (which disbanded) to pursue a solo career. Since then, she’s been writing pop material with a more rhythm & blues/urban feel, and she’s currently recording an album. She sang the national anthem this week for the fans in El Paso, Texas, just before SmackDown! got underway. Rue also has extensive experience in acting and modeling. She’s appeared in episodes of “The Sopranos,” “Spin City” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” among others. She had a small role in the feature film “Love the Hard Way,” with Adrien Brody. She’s also been in commercials for Nike (with New York Yankee Derek Jeter) and Michelob, among many others. She’s modeled in print advertisements for W Magazine, Elizabeth Arden and Anne Klein. Now she’s arrived in WWE “I had an opportunity to audition with the company quite a long time ago,” she said. “I had an interview and an audition and an opportunity to see what this world is all about. I’m excited and anxious to be part of this team.” Her first on-camera WWE appearance was last week on After Burn. “We had a good show together,” said her co-host, Mathews. “She’s great. She’s going to do a great job here. I’m glad that she’s on the blue team – SmackDown! – and that we get to work together.”

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Yeah, it's called "Waiting in the Wings" and was written by Joss. http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/Guide...12/epid-110899/ Quotes Angel: Oh yeah, yeah. I saw their production of Giselle in 1890 -- cried like a baby. And I was evil! Angel: Back in the day, I'd always get box seats... or just eat the people who had 'em. Angel: I think I'm gonna have to go with my patented Sudden Burst of Violence. Angel: Gunn, these guys are tight, and you're gonna be tripping out. Gunn: Don't be using my own phrases when we've lost the trust. (singing) Lorne: Go to sleep/ lullaby/ you've been fed and you're sleepy/ you'll be with/ Uncle Lorne/ who in no way resents not being asked to go to the ballet/ and is certainly/ not thinking/ of selling you to the first vampire cult that makes him a decent offer... Wesley: (about the ballet troupe) So what are we thinking, vampires? Cordelia: Well, they're not a deeply tanned bunch. Gunn: That would explain the precision and the athleticism. I mean, some of those jumps were... You know, I was cool before I met y'all -
And the name makes sense. Big and Bad. Tall Terrible John doesn't have the same ring to it.
