I'm just very frustrated though. Maybe it's because I've spent many thousands of dollars on their product, or maybe it's because I just like wrestling so much that I want to see it succeed in a great form in this country, but watching tonight's show just depressed me. I've not watched Raw in months (I still tape it, but don't watch it - I'm a completeist), but Smackdown was my haven for at least one good match a week. It looks like not anymore. ^^^^^ You should have started off with that.

I don't get this "The product sucked near the end" - there were plenty of good matches in 2000, some better than the "hey-day" of ECW (which tends to get exaggerated).

Hogans value in WCW (and the WWF in the 90's) wasn't very big (not big enough for Vince to try and keep him). Hogan in WCW did not bring the HUGE ratings and buyrates and $$$ that he did in the 80's. Yes, he still had his name - but that could also be considered a negative. Then he turned heel and alligned with the NWO...

...and he won't. Much like the NWO - the group he created - they will never learn their lesson and will fade away.

Did Vince create the concept of the NWO? No. Did Vince have his top superstars put over the NWO? No. Did Vince turn Hogan heel? No.

I caught the tail-end of RAW on Monday and as Goldberg was coming to the ring JR was going-on, as he usually does, about his football career. Aside from "giving the wrestler credibility" - which it really doesn't cause football and wrestling are two fucking different sports, what is the point of this?? Yes, JR is a big football fan, but isn't Monday Night Football "Raw's 'main' competition"? JR - the lead announcer in the WWE - is basically advertising the NFL, free-of-charge, and saying that it's more important that Goldberg's (or anyone elses) achievements in Wrestling. Viewer: "Let's see what's goin on in the WWE" *turns on RAW* JR: "FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL! FOOTBALL!" Viewer: "Hey, football's on!" *turns off Raw*
