The One and Only WWE Unforgiven 2003 Thread

Goldberg vs. Kane clearly is the money match to go for. But I would suspect that the WWE would let Goldberg get in a few defenses first and let Kane continue his reign of destruction until either (a)they cross paths naturally or (b)someone pleads Goldberg to take down Kane or ( c )Kane challenges Goldberg. Now, they could save that for Survivor Series or Armageddon (or both). The X-factor is HHH and whether or not he'll want Goldberg to have a successful title reign - because if Goldie is successful, HHH ain't gettin that belt back for a long while. (Of course, that is unless he goes to Smackdown, becomes a face and saves Steph and beats Brock for the title... which we all know would be just... heh... just ridiculous! Orton vs. Michaels will be horrible. All Orton can do is bump, and Michaels has piss-poor offense.

Stephanie McMahon on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Steph: I'd love to be a girl jumping on a trampoline Jimmy. Jimmy: But the thing is, Steph, the girls we have jumping on the trampoline bounce back up... so yeah, sorry.

Back in '99 Albert did a missile dropkick to Big Show from the top rope.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

Restless is fucking BRILLIANT. Top 5 IMO. It should be included in Season 5 rather than 4!

    UFC 44: Undisputed

I saw Tito on Leno. A pretty standard piece with Ryan Seacrest getting "beat up". Jay asked "does anyone know what Ultimate Fighting is" and there was a brief pause and then everyone clapped (in other words, someone told them to clap) - not a very good sign. Then Jay remarked at how brutal it is, which also isn't very good for the image of the sport. Tito and Ryan worked the bag, Limp Bizkit was playing in the background (Break Stuff). Tito applied an armbar, triangle, a few light slams. His BJJ technique was very good, very smooth, of course Seacrest was letting him do it, Couture might be harder Iha and another guy were in it briefly, Ryan asked the other guy if he tells his date what he does for a living, he said no. Seacrest remarked on the other guys pecks. Iha said something, I have no idea what. Buffer shilled the PPV. At the end Tito came out on stage at the end, very nicely dressed, let Jay hold the title and invited him to put it around his waist when he wins at the next show.

    1,000,000th post on TSM

I smell a new slogan for TSMB. "The Smartmarks Messageboard: 1,000,000 posts; 5,000,000 HHH jokes."

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Besides, I think the champion is Angel-specific.

Yeah, but they actually called Cordy a champion...

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Yeah. The visions that she had started to kill her, yet she stuck it out and gained champion status. So really, once she got it, the term lost any and all of its value.

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

Andrew, you've gone too far. You can insult my family, you can insult my taste, you can even insult my intelligence... but you went over the line. You crossed that line you sonnofabitch. NOBODY (NOBODY!!) tells me how to grammarize.

    Children of the WWE

Opinions can be uneducated and ignorant and therefore invalid. If I ask my 5 year old cousin about the political, social, and economic situation in Sierra Leone - a place he has never even heard of - and he says "it's good", is that opinion valid? In terms of giving weight to wrestling fans' opinions, it all depends on who you talk to. There could be someone who has never been on the internet before and has a better understanding of what wrestling is than someone who has spent a decade on-line. Hell, when I was 7 I had a better understanding of psychology and selling in wrestling than a lot of people on various messageboards.

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

Which reminds me. Royce Gracie vs. Kazushi Sakuraba from the PrideGP Finals. It was hyped to no end. "Greatest MMA match ever" it was said to be. It went 90 minutes. It lived up to the hype. It had better storytelling with half the workrate and it was a breeze to get through even if there were, what, 5 breaks in all between rounds?

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

I was hard for Angle/Lesnar, mainly because I was caught up in the potential psychology and storytelling with two world class amateur wrestlers with distincts physical traits. There's so much to do with just that, and the WWE just fucked it up. I've seen better mat work from PRIDE with guys who couldn't touch either Angle or Lesnar on the ground. Angle vs. Lesnar was a brawling-match feud... which is to say it was a WWE-match feud.

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

Most people do. Maybe my ears were fooling me at Wrestlemania 18... Cause I distinctly remember not being able to hear my own voice when chanting for hogan.

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

After 3 less-than-stellar matches, I don't think Lesnar or Angle are ever going to have that 5 star match. People still can't see, can they?

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

And I think you suck Andrew. And I bet Hogan does too. I've been disappointed by matches that were hyped up as the greatest ever, but that was mainly because I was listening to morons say that and took their word for it. Now I use my head.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Cordy's character has sucked since she became a champion. Watching the early esp. I almost get depressed at what they had built her up into in the last 2 seasons.

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

And no, I don't hate any of the wrestlers I liked in the past. Still a Hogan fan dispite all of his 'flaws'.

    MOTYC THIS MONDAY ON RAW!!!

Yes, because people WANTED all those blown spots. Part of what makes a truly great match is how it holds up to time and criticism. If it can't stand up to it, then it isn't a great match - no matter how great you thought it was at the time.

    Smackdown Rating Drops

    Was anyone expecting big ratings?

Thoughts on the Iron Man Match

Nah, he never hits the moonsault anyways It would have been better to have him get the pin off a flying move (dropkick), go for another one (moonsault) since the first one proved effective, and then have Brock get wise to it and move.
  22. RavishingRickRudo

Thoughts on the Iron Man Match

Anyone else think that Angle should have gotten a pin-fall off the missile dropkick? That would have been instant credibility thus giving Angle another finish (or at least near-fall) under his belt to use in other matches. And Papacita, Main Event at Wrestlemania or Main Event on Smackdown... which is more pressure?

    Undertaker vs. Vince, Buried Alive

No no no, The Bret Hart Return season is from Oct-Nov, and around Wrestlemania time. The DeadMan Return season kinda jumps around - IIRC the last time it was discussed was his feud with Cena... before that was when Nathan Jones debuted... before that was the Royal Rumble...
  24. RavishingRickRudo

    Undertaker vs. Vince, Buried Alive

Is it that time of the year again?
  25. RavishingRickRudo

Thoughts on the Iron Man Match

And I don't think Lesnar and Angle even know how to do a "technical" match with each other. All they know is spot, brawl, spot, brawl, longer spot, brawl.
