I've heard everyone bitch about commentator angles
RavishingRickRudo replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Call him "J.C. Flash" and he needs an ENTOURAGE of people. A hair stylist, a shoe shiner, a PR guy, 3 body guards, someone to help "keep it real", and a chef. Have all these people surround him even when commentating. It's like Simons circus in ECW. They missed the opportunity with the rock but they can still hit it with JC FLASH~! -
Exactly, which is why Booker T lost... ... I mean... Um... Err... Hey stop hhhating all you bitter nasties! Why do you watch anyways?

He should change into "J.C." and wear leather and silk together and LOT'S of gold around his neck and fingers and talks about how he gotsta gets paid. -
How the hell do you gather that? I have heard MANY PEOPLE tonight on the radio say "HHH holding the title is bad for the WWE" "I felt ripped off" "The WWE is going down the drain if HHH stays champ"... HOW IS THAT GOOD HEAT??

It's the battle of the hoss-cries!! Batista: AAAAAAAARGH! Goldberg: AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!! Batista: AAAAAAAAAARGHEHEGHEH! Goldberg: AAAARGHEAHGAAAAAGHEGHE! Taz: AAAAABLAHBLAHBLAHAHA

He's spending more time in the Mojo studios during the week and has made the LAW low priority. Basically, he's workin his way up the ladder and the LAW is draggin him down. He has his own show during the week, forget when it's on. In other newz, is everyone ready for BATISTA vs. GOLBERG??!

So what was the point of saying Jerichos moveset was weak? It didn't inflate HBK's one bit. Meanwhile, guys like Eddie, Lyger, Misawa have been able to mix up highflying and manage to maintain a credible heavyweight moveset. THEY were able to change it up, Shawn was heavyweight-lite and cruiserweight-lite. His biggest high flying move was a moonsault Of course I can't convince you of Shawns overblown matches, you're clearly an HBK mark and I clearly don't like HBK... but you might want to refine your definition of worker... maybe "in-ring worker", since good "workers" don't fake injuries or run away from doing jobs or are scared to drop titles.. even then, you might want to limit the time period shawn was a good in-ring worker as I have heard stories about him dogging it on the house show circuit and with non-buddies around the 96/97 period. And his time as a "top" worker was very short as well. Not only in the world, but in north america, and even in his own company (and THAT period of time when he was a top worker in the WWe was when the WWE was at its LOWEST). -
Oh that Crazy Ol Flair

Nash and HBK fight for the good of the business!
RavishingRickRudo replied to Insane Bump Machine's topic in The WWE Folder
Which is weird cause traditionally, WCW wasn't much of a PPV powerhouse. They rarely went above 1.0 IIRC I may recall wrong there, however, since it's been a while since I looked at the numbers. But I do remember being surprised by the small PPV numbers WCW did during their "peak". -
Don't worry, the show sucks now w/o Marek. Whether you like him or not, Marek at least has connections with the WWE, Lovranski is just a hippy flair mark with an unhealthy obsession with bashing Hulk Hogan and Agnew is a putz.

Ah, I was thinkin bout Iggy who made the same point... I DON'T LIKE JERICHO! Throwing him out as a rebuttal is of no concern of mine. His moveset is weak as well. -
Oh come now, HHH elevated Jeff Hardy during that period of time, member??

The "a heel reign is only good to put a face over" thing doesn't hold much water for me . . . what about some of Flair's title reigns? Some of those were pushing a year before he lost to someone else . . . . and just because he's beaten someone once doesn't make them "ineligible" to take the strap from him on their 2nd attempt, so to speak. Yeah, but when he says "You're not good enough for this title" (like he has done with just about EVERYONE HE HAS FACED) and then that person indeed does prove themselves unworthy of the title and goes back down to the midcard never to be seen near the title again, they kinda get the stigma of "loser" on them. You know what happens when the faces never end up beating the heels? It's called WCW vs. NWO, and that was one of the reasons WCW folded.

Given that the HHH/Austin feud upstaged Angles title run, saying HHH has been out of the title scene isn't really that much of a point.
-
The real comedy came between JR and HHH... the rest was just making the point that HHH pretty much well can do whatever he wants with the title, and if that means becoming the next Ric Flair with a ton of title reigns, then so be it.
-
Yeah, and whomever HHH loses the title to will be screwed and the belt will go right back to HHH... HHH: Dad, I want the belt 20 times. Flair: Yeah Vinny! WOOO! Give the champ the title 20 more times! Steph: Yeah Daddy, who else would you give it to? There's no one left. JR: It's a good idea Vince. HHH: Yeah, listen to JR dad. JR: You're a throwback to wrestlings golden age Trip. HHH: Why thank you JR. And what about Steph? JR: A very talented and wonderful humanbeing who would be hired even if she wasn't a mcmahon. Steph: Thanks JR. Vince: Well, ok, HHH you can get the belt again. Goldberg: Uh. Booker: Uh. RVD: Uh. Kane: Uh. Steiner: Uh. *Vince, Steph, JR, HHH, Nash, HBK all look at them* (Collectively) Great idea boss.

Anger here is totally different from anger from casual smarks. Feeling ripped off is feeling ripped off. I have heard from many "casual" people, even people who are HHH fans, that they were ripped off tonight because HHH didn't drop the the belt. The fans after the Booker match at WM DEFLATED when HHH won. It wasn't "GRRR DARN THAT HHH" heat, it was "*sigh*". This isn't _just_ smark reaction. I'm listening to the radio right now and I'm hearign the same thing over and over and over again - people want HHH to drop the title now and want someone new. This is not the kind of good heat. You guys need to chill out A WHOLE DAMNED LOT. I honestly think it's a breath of fresh air that the title hasn't been changing hands at every PPV - I don't know how you guys acted (or for you young whipper-snappers - would have acted) when Hogan was champ for 4 years with a thimble full of the talent HHH has possessed over his career. Yes, HHH isn't nearly the wrestler he was two or three years ago, but c'mon - this is the SAME GUY that worked his ass off night in and night out back in '99 and '00 putting on four-plus star matches on almost every PPV - the SAME GUY that, no matter how you want to look at it, at least hasn't left to go do a bunch of damned movies and TV shows - the SAME GUY that everyone was SO anxious to see when he returned from his quad tear, then crucified him when he wasn't as good as he was before the injury. Hogan drew money with his title run thus justifying his run on top. There is no justification for HHH holding the title right now. He physically isn't able to hold it and he isn't making money for the company even after a full YEAR LONG PUSH over all the faces on the Raw side. This is a year long with about 12 ppvs and wrestling on every monday night. I think we all need to realize that to 95% of fans, HHH winning will NOT affect their ability to sleep tonight, unlike some of you who will probably still be living in the basement of your parents' house at 40 years old. And if you're blaming HHH on ratings decreases over the last year or so, I think you need to take a long, hard look at how the economy, increased ticket prices, the complete lack of competition, and the usual "roller-coaster" ride that wrestling always takes has played a large role in where the product is today. Yes, it's got it's problems - yes, there's too many McMahons on TV, and not enough Jericho, Benoit, and the guys we really love to see perform. But overall, I still love to watch this crazy stuff - good times and bad - and realize that overall, in the course of my lifetime, HHH still having the title doesn't affect me ONE BIT. The Video gaming industry is as big as it ever was - the economy hasn't effected that one bit. It's the same demographic that the WWE panders to; people are willing to spend money, they don't see any reason to spend it on the WWE. The focus has been HHH for the past year and they posted a loss - he isn't helping even with the monsterous mcmahon machine behind him. There is nothing justifying keeping the title on him except for the fact that there is no one who could do better... and do you know why no one could do better? Cause HHH is keeping them all down! You don't think HHH having the title doesn't effect you one bit? Consider all the time spent on building up guys just to have them lose, all the time you spent watching HHH go over, and what that time could have been used for instead. It effects you. Those who think HHH holding the title is a good thing consider what a heel is supposed to do... PUT OVER A FACE. Who has HHH put over? No one. The last guy he could have was Goldberg..

Yep. You have this weird notion that I like Jericho.. -
The Raw Ratings with the two boycotts (one in May and one in June) were down. Not that I credit the boycott, but they certainly didn't go UP.
-
But people here are not being upset that the big bad heel HHH is keeping the title and darn him from stealing it away from good guy goldberg, they are mad that the worker HHH isn't putting over _anyone_ and the only guy who could credibly beat him (goldberg) and win the title got BEATEN. It's completely separated from the storylines. I am hearing people cry "rip off" on the radio, and these people are far from smarks.

HHH wrestles house shows? The guy is injured half the time.

he didn't wrestle either style particularly well. He had weak heavyweight and weak cruiserweight moves. -
Ok, so lemme get this straight, _smarks_ on a message board bitching about HHH IS heat, but a smark not going to a show because of HHH isn't? Same kinda heat driving it, doncha think? Remember, we're basing this on YOUR assessment of this message board hhhating on the world champ as a cute lil way of turning this in HHH's favour... The WWE forecasts a decrease in attendance and ratings and $$$ for the next year. They posted a LOSS last year which was the year HHH returned. Not that i'm saying its all HHH's fault, but he certainly isn't HELPING things nor is he warranting his current standing in the WWE.

When HHH comes on my screen I will turn the channel. When HHH comes to my area, I won't go to the show... ... how is that good heat??
