Did they screw up the sound for this or what?
Jobber of the Week posted a topic in Television & Film
Maybe they decided to mess with the sound for the 6 channel setup, but this DVD sounds absolutely terrible on a stereo TV. Listening to the entrances for Goldberg/Lesnar, Fink sounds scratchy and everything is generally drowned out by the music. The video looks good, but did they compress the audio for that? -
Try running a gameported to all systems. The PS2 and Xbox ports control fine usually, because the controller design mirrors it but not exactly (the Xbox controller doesn't have both sticks in the middle like the PS2 does, but that's actually more of a problem with the PS controller.) But basically the Cube's controller is so different that any game that depends on using four buttons for four different tasks will find themselves assigning important stuff to X and Y, which look like secondary "forget about these" buttons next to A and B. My problem is that it's too small for my hand, mainly.

UT/Bearer rehearsal video from Sat. feed
Jobber of the Week replied to Fro's topic in The WWE Folder
Wow, this makes about as much sense as the Steve Austin heel turn. Congratulations, Undertaker. You've milked out your old music's pop and otherwise put crowds to sleep by bastardizing the most reliably over character in the company (no, Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin weren't always over, or able to stay over as both heel and face.) It only started at WrestleMania and couldn't even last until Summerslam. I hope you're proud! -
The Greens rejected Nader and replaced him with a guy from the Ukiah area. Smart move for everyone. Nader was becoming bad PR after 2000 and the fact that HE KEEPS ON RUNNING BUT NEVER GOES ANYWHERE. I don't see him being a factor in the election or polls now assuming he's still interested in running as an Independant. All the Greens that were going to vote for him to try and advance their party will, for the first time, be throwing their vote away if they go Nader. So do they go with their new guy or do they go with Kerry just to make sure that libs aren't branded whiny socialist America-haters for another four years? Should be interesting to find out.

Not really. If he had something useful to contribute, I'd say so as well, which is why I've lamented some other bannings in the past. This guy's specialty was namecalling.

You didn't edit out the WTC you insensitive bastard!

Police brutality caught on live national TV?

Those were the two people he bitched out by name. Although since we were talking "KKKonservatives", I defended you by proxy. Even though I still don't agree on the monkey shit. -
I enjoy fast food, but only eat chicken at Wendy's. I can pig out on unhealthy shit like anyone else, but even the single burgers at Wendy's are just too goddamn greasy. When the tinfoil-covered wrapper is annihilated by the grease inside, it's time to cross the parking lot to Jack In The Box.

Ah, good. It's been weeded down to matches that I've seen. 1)Austin vs Rock-WM 17 (24-7) 9)Angle vs Benoit-Rumble '03 (17-14) 4)Bret vs Austin-WM 13 (24-7) 5)Bret vs Owen-WM 10 (30-1) 3)Rey vs Eddie-Halloween Havoc '97 (19-12) 42)Bret vs Bulldog-Summerslam '92 (17-14) 7)HHH vs HBK vs Benoit-WM 20 (23-8) 2)Bret vs Austin survivor series 96 (24-7)

Nope, don't agree with him. Angles like that wouldn't draw because they require audiences to give a shit about the business, and the only people who do are people who have been following it for some time and have an interest in it already. Basically, it would bring in nobody, and it would just be self-masturbatory fodder. And considering who's writing, it would be dragged through the dirt so hard that we'd long be pleading for it to stop before it ever did. Remember when everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) thought it was new and neat and cool when Vince made it more public that he was running the show and made an entire character around that? Now we bitch whenever he's onscreen and want him out of the camera time. If you think people would be interested in seeing a show about backstage politics, and I doubt they do, a reality program with cameras following Vince, Steph, HHH and others after the show is done would draw much more huge than making an angle out of reality. Because the interest in the worked show is what draws interest to the reality show, see what I mean?

It would help though if you left the gang of people who don't spell "girl" correctly. Boy, that one always bugs me.

My faith is restored. It seems there are people at the top of this board who do understand the more technically advanced aspects of the internet. Good job. Now, how about an ignore function to handle future -iB-'s?

The first hornet was fine, but then more and more arrived and I got the willies and closed the window.

It's time for you, the POSTERS, to decide!
Jobber of the Week replied to IllustriousOne's topic in No Holds Barred
Anglesault. I'll give MikeSC a pass, the political discussion sucks but he seems to hate Goldberg like I do so we'll call it even. -
I'm not going to see it until next month, but if you believe in the honesty at the people at the top, you probably won't care for the film. Don't know what's been so hard to swallow about that.

The vast left-wing conspiracy CLAIMS ANOTHER! Cerebus316 posted it well before you did. I believe it's still on page 1. (No, wait, it's on 2. Oh well, still no excuse.) THESMARTMARKS HINT~~!: You won't get very far on this board if you turn this into a Michael Savage style "OMGCOMMUNISTS LOL1983!" arguement. We're a group of people who often don't agree with each other, but at the end of the day we usually still appreciate each other's contributions (with exceptions. See Kamui, Ghettoman, and others for details.) Turning this into AMERICAN PATRIOT HEROES GO GI JOE versus COBRA COMMANDER COMMUNIST KOMPANY is not going to get you anywhere. +5 points for the Mikey Moore is Fat joke, minus ten thousand for the above bullshit.

I know -iB- made using goofy pictures a bad thing, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD If you knew anything about the CE forum before you succumbed to knee-jerk reaction and made these crappy posts, you'd know kkk and Powerplay aren't racist. Jesus christ, the word racist is almost a joke around here when those two are involved because we've seen so many people cry about it before. -

Oh holy shit, you're kidding me, right? The way I had it figured was you and this guy were tight Something I said makes somebody mad They make a new nick to make liberals look bad The klan references are so overdone Pre-date Laughing Out Loud in the year 2001 He's got the same sense of humor since the day he was four It doesn't even make me flinch anymore But that's because the internet contains so much horror Like that one guy who ties his nuts to the door Flip's only posted twice but already needs a removal I hereby give a banning bipartisan approval CE would be cleaner if we only kicked out the trash Like Teddy K he's gotta make two trips to haul ass And because I can't stop the beat and call it a day Without making a joke that's really cliche Here's a joke in hip-hop that you'll find pretty lame: One day when I was out heading out to the store I went to McDonalds and when I got in to door I saw the guy in front of the line was good old Michael Moore I knew right away that something was wrong He ordered heaping mountains of food all night long And by the time the sun dawned The manager retired and the restaurant was gone I guess I'll end the rhyme since these jokes cannot last They're pretty half-assed But they still flabbergast Don't feel harassed or under attack It only made sense that Jobber rapped back Word. -

I don't think almost anyone is screaming that anymore. It's not the size of the arsenal that matters. What matters is how you use it. Granted, I don't think Bush should have his way here either since he's insistant on those reduced-range nuclears. I think that will actually cause us more problems in the future and may bring us closer to nuclear war than when we were battling Russia. In that sense, it is reasonable to be scared what the US will do with weapons of mass destruction. Again, it depends on how you use it. I'll agree that using troops and tanks is a more honorable way of fighting a war than undercover suicide bombers. That same tank firing live ammunition at a child throwing rocks is about as low and deplorable as cutting off a hand, though. Basically, I think our culture has our highs and lows, but what seperates us from the others is that we typically think we're doing what's best for everybody. Ending communism was best for everybody, including the people living in enemy territory. Winning WWII wasn't great for the people who died in the conflict, but it wound up benefitting the world and the countries involved in the long-run. When we start thinking that we're flexing our military strength just to help ourselves and take an advantage, we typically aren't very comfortable about it. That, I think, sets us apart from others.

Well, I disagree with his comments. Had he not come, we would have deprived us of the Donkey Kong Dance and the EL BROCKO FIESTA~! prior to No Way Out.

State Of Morale In World Wrestling Entertainment
Jobber of the Week replied to haVoc's topic in The WWE Folder
As Mike already said: How in the hell could anyone else get over if Goldberg had to go over everyone? Admittedly, he would have been a better choice for strongest-booked guy than Non-Wrestler Steve Austin, but nobody seems to realizing that sacrificing everyone else's careers to get Goldberg over is what set WCW's head upon the chopping block. When fans stopped caring about Goldberg is when the blade came down, because they had no one left to depend on that looked credible. Damn, I'm agreeing with Mike. Now I'm listening to Rush and buying Halliburton stock NOOOO... -

This one was too easy. Even I decided it was beyond help when he got to "KKKonservatives." At first I thought he was making a reference to Mr. Tookmybabyaway but then changed my mind. Which is bad, because the alternative is even more lame. -
State Of Morale In World Wrestling Entertainment
Jobber of the Week replied to haVoc's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't mind writers leaving. They're largely responsible for the amount of crap we saw in 2002. I'd be more sad if the excellent video package guys left than I do the writers who brought us the last two years of crap. Wrestling's biggest problem is the merger of ideas. The "live-action cartoon" days of the early 80s WWF with it's hollow US patriotism and it's overly stale angles (Lita/Kane? No thanks, I got over women being stalked by ugly monster guys with Liz and Steele.) The Jerry Springer years of guys pretending to be girls, "hardcore" matches, and "edgy" characters like JBL's rants pushing the line of decency as far as the network will let them. Both these eras have come and gone. And putting them together isn't going to do anything. No angle, no matchup, no wrestler returning from retirement or Hollywood is going to draw in this environment. My suggestion is that the crowd be allowed to adopt favoritism for heels again. "Cool heels" can't exist anymore because the moment they get crowd support, Vince turns them face and they lose the attitude that made people like them in the first place. -
