One thing I admire about America....
Jobber of the Week replied to Vanhalen's topic in Current Events
Nobody of any other religion contributed anything? -
This is true. I used to regularly visit Lucianne Goldberg's site of a bazillion news links for the amusing right-wing commentary in the reply boxes until the site got loaded up with too many ads. While there's some decent people there (really), it's the far far-right who are a hoot. My favorite replies was one person who said that "Being gay is like being a vampire or something, it's not normal" and another person who replied to a story on worker productivity and spun it to say that black people are lazy. This was the kind of commentary the GOP would rather you forget about, and boy was it entertaining. Most enjoyable moment #3 was being called a "site pest" (aka troll, aka flamebait, aka omg he's not a rightie) for airing a moderate independant position through most of my posts and just generally not being nearly enough of a rabid Republican to please the crowd. This is the site that tells you that "unless the language used is objectionable or incites an extreme response you are free to speak your mind." At least DU supposedly tells Conservatives to get lost in it's rules. =b

Well, it's not like there's anyone in Germany with internet access being prevented from downloading the original game models from someone with a regular copy once they get it installed. I have German gaming magazines with pictures of the Half-Life "robots" as well as big black boxes of what's supposed to be Quake III screenshots blacked out. From Computer & Video Games Magazine four years ago:

That probably wouldn't be a problem if some people weren't mooching off other people's logins to watch the show and upping the bandwith usage per purchase.

411 writer Eric Szulczewski spits on Reagan's tomb
Jobber of the Week replied to a topic in Current Events
Actually, Eric is kind of smart as far as partisan yahoos go. The "conservative mastermind" of 411Black (prior to him being released and claiming it was a left-wing conspiracy) was far dumber and pretended to be some sort of internet Rush Limbaugh, telling his readers to copy and paste certain parts of his columns and post them on liberal sites to troll the people there. Eric is a guy shooting off his rabid beliefs off. I don't even read his column anymore because his page-ful of political views comes under the false title "Wrestling News & Opinions." While I don't think he's stupid, I do think he's a bit of a loser becuase of the whole "40 year old internet columnist" thing. -
The Ronald Reagan National Defense Building?
Jobber of the Week replied to a topic in Current Events
The sad thing is this funeral, while respectful, will set a trend of Presidents wanting a funeral as lavish as Ronald Reagan's. You know Dubya's thinking "Damnit, I want that!" MikeSC: Because he was impeached? Or did he simply decline or what? -
I'm proud to say I never have gone, as much as I may sound like a regular.

Did you not pay attention to why they wanted it gone? The cross is supposedly a symbol of "the influence of the church and the missions of California." -

The fact that it's such a tiny thing makes the people who get upset at the ACLU over it as petty as they claim the ACLU is for wanting it gone. -
411 writer Eric Szulczewski spits on Reagan's tomb
Jobber of the Week replied to a topic in Current Events
This is almost like The Daily Show. "President Bush's campaign plans to run negative attack ads all week. *sniff* Because... *wipes tear* Because the Gipper would've wanted it that way." -
Damnit, you almost made me click on a Democratic Underground link.

Sorry, but Nixon is the kind of man that could drive Republians to change affiliation to Independants. Reagan was the kind of man who could bring them back. -
That 411 column was a self-blowjob. He's giving the internet fans WAY too much credit here and forgetting that the media has known that Vince McMahon is an idiot for years and is all too eager to cover something that exposes him as a dumbass carny instead of the entertainment industry big-shot he pictures himself as. Here's the thing to the people who don't get the "don't joke about it" stuff. You don't joke about bombs in airports. Do you challenge that? No, you joke about the fact that they have that law outside of the airport (such as George Carlin's routine about "What if someone told a bomb riddle? A limerick? How about an amusing bomb anecdote?") but when you're in the airport, you just obey it. Same with Nazis in Germany. You may think it's weird, but taking a stand and trying to fight city hall over social taboos is a fight that's not worth fighting when it's not hurting anyone, and frowning on Nazis isn't hurting anyone at all. I'll take this moment to remind everyone that Germany has a social structure currently that's quite pacifist/non-violent. Even the German releases of the most violent computer and video games have to modified. If you buy a shooter such as "Half-Life" in Germany, you buy a special edition sold only in Germany where human enemies are replaced with robots. Why? Germany has a thing about the imagery of shooting live people, so the enemy soldiers in the game are replaced with "military robots." It may seem a little weird to you, and it probably is a little weird. But remember that it's the backlash against the most violent power-hungry regime in this planet's history and the rise of a man who's identity will be intwined with evil for many generations to come worldwide. If that's not something to be ashamed about, what is?

Spoilers for 6/10 Smackdown

I will agree with the "Spike is a jobber to jobbers" thing. The only person I see him getting even footing on is Funaki, and logistically Funaki ought to win because moves are more "wrestling" than most the crap Spike does. It's worse now that he's not wearing a shirt. Shannon Moore looked like he was on the HHH nutrition program on Velocity last week because of Spike. -
Ronald Reagans state funeral tomorrow

I wish I got your big media. Round here the Vietnam stuff only comes up when it's relevant. Unless Kerry is talking, in which case the homeless problem can be solved with something involving his service in Vietnam. I don't know what the hell is up with Jennings anymore, actually. I know Dan Rather occasionally throws out an oddball, but he seems to do it to suprise and amuse. Jennings just says shit that doesn't make sense and then looks straightfaced about it. -

Naw, it's more like: Mordecai:"I will DAMN. *stops and reads script* Uh....Paul London. Who the hell is he? Oh well ..STRAIGHT TO HELLLL!!!!!" *crowd reacts with silence, a toilet flushes from behind the bleachers* London (thinking):"Is THIS really my dream anymore? I'd rather wear that dress and the panties for Rob Feinstein than deal with this shit." -
Minor incident on tour when Bradshaw did a Crocodile Dundee impression in front of an Australian crowd. 5,000 people were ejected for throwing Fosters into the ring. No charges are being pressed, but the government may encourage those in attendance to drink better beer.

Though I usually like Ventura, he was obviously so out-of-touch with the event that allegedly he was actually loudly chewing gum during the program. $1 coin please. Nobody ought to be bumped just because we want to put somebody else's head on a coin. -

If he was in a different state of mind he wouldn't do the Last Ride. Honestly, I forgave them the less than thrilling costume (considering he was buried in jeans and a sleeveless top so it makes sense) but then when he started doing a move he only associated with his biker character, I lost hope. -
Oh shit. This was a VAST LEFT-WING CONSPIRACY by internet geeks and the liberal media.

Fuck you, stop reading and go have a great day. I'll be sure to send you a PM when we don't have freedom of speech anymore so you don't have to read things you might not like. Mommy, make the bad man stop typing! -
