Actually, I ignore most criminal court cases period. I recognize the name from the newspaper, but I haven't ever read the story under the headlines. I've watched almost no TV news in the past two weeks or so, which is why I'm off on the top stories bit.

The media weighs it's coverage

Here's one I keep seeing over and over on TV, even these days: -

GOOD LORD, THAT MAN BE ARMED AND HE GOT A TWITCHY TRIGGER FINGER! ON THE FLOOR, NOW! I'm not living in SF now, so delivery to get it to the far surrounding areas costs a heck of a lot more. I miss it already, the science articles and other news were written far better than what I'm seeing in all the stuff aped from the NYT in the local paper. -
FAUX News & others practicing "pseudo-journalism"?

That was about the only thing I agreed with. The thing about O'Reilly that gets to me is the stupid shootouts where he starts losing ground and yells over the other person to "win." That and he goes around calling people scared or lazy to come on his show even if they are willing to come on his show but can't make it or didn't find out about. Also: *shakes head* -
Billy and Chuck were the epitome of the overly-flamboyant stereotype that a quiet majority of gay people want to get away from. Only the people in the assless chaps marching down Main Street once a year are interested in being painted as low as Billy & Chuck were acting.

Am I the only person who sees this Christian shit going nowhere? Seems to me that it's only a matter of time before this trio breaks up, either because Trish and Tomko see Christian as the weakest link, or Christian goes all egotistical and tells them to get lost. Christian doesn't need a mouthpiece and the extra baggage, Tomko won't get any heat off Christian because he's bigger and fans automatically expect it to be the other way around. Edge is getting booed in Montreal and no reaction anywhere else. I still believe it's time for an E&C reunion. Trish can go back to trying to get big generic slugs over again, which is definitely a step down for her, but she completely burned out her welcome in the ring anyway.

Wow, it's been all of two months now. I guess he's really going all the way if he's been into it for a whole ten weeks. Footballs don't weigh as much as logs, so he can save money towards the ice in his ice bath. Wait, he still does the ice bath, right?

She would make me laugh in the way Michael Savage used to make me laugh in his days when he ranted about Mandarin Chinese, except that she's nearly as arrogant about her opinions as Bill O'Reilly, so I can't laugh. Now now, I saw your "With us or against us" speech on C-SPAN. -

I only started reading his columns today. I canceled the SF Chronicle and am back to reading the local paper again, and I never really read the opinion section of it last time. If he turns out to be the Ann Coulter of the left, I promise I'll stop reading. -
No to both questions, but I don't even know who this guy is. Guess I haven't been watching my CourtTV. Sorry.

The death penalty is something that innately I wind up being against, because I picture myself being charged of a crime I didn't commit and being put to death. But then again, I have also had a brush with crime where a man murdered an entirely family a few houses down the street, including my two best friends at the time. He's currently awaiting execution, and as much as the thought of the death penalty makes me cringe, I still wanna see that fucker go. So I support it, reluctantly, but support it nonetheless. However, I think it should be an exception and not the rule, reserved for mass murderers like the fuckhead above, terrorists, etc. Otherwise, life sentences can actually be a cheaper burden on the taxpayer than an execution.

wwe news on Shocking angles/promo for Mordecai

Mordecai's shocking promo: Undertaker! I know you! I know you like danger! I know you like livin' on the edge! COME! TO MY WHITE CASTLE OF FEAR! -
L-O-mf'n-L. I don't know what's funnier. Bret Hart, Canadian Hero; or the fact that Vince is obviously showing such desperation.

Yeah, it'll probably win the GameFAQs poll...

It's PlayStation and all your favorite PlayStation games! But more! And you can expect souped-up rehashes of all your PlayStation favorites! Isn't that just better than God? WORSHIP TODAY! I was part of a team that made some of the earliest whacks at 3D engine-based cinemas. Using scripts, tools, and other stuff to make "movies" out of Quake, which is generally know for shooting people and skulking down hallways, not making movies. Sure, the films sucked, but it was incredibly early so a camera user showing a bunch of guys networked to a server and typing their lines into the chat line above the screen was pretty unique then. So basically, I have huge respect for the amount of work in Xenosaga's in-game cinemas, but I kind of wish there wasn't a half-assed game attatched to them. -

Canada loses "Coolest Crowd Ever" title

It's just so cheesily done that it's almost insulting, though. -
Canada loses "Coolest Crowd Ever" title

Doesn't need to be a city if a region shares the same kind of crowd, and Canadian crowds are pretty much alike aside from minor differences. -

If Square hadn't made the negatives of 7, someone else would. Like it or not, those almost crippling aspects of Final Fantasy that plays to the dumbed-down crowd are making sales, and it's not impossible that some other developer would have clinched that set instead. I think 8 did far much worse damage to gaming as a whole, becuase it introduced the concept of the hype of the game completely eclipsing the game itself. Jesus hell, FF8 launched on the same day as the Sega Dreamcast platform, and guess which had more hype? I never finished Xenosaga, but I actually would have prefered if it had simply been a movie with no game whatsoever. I'm not feelin' it with the battle engine, but the amount of work put into the cinematics impresses me so much that I could just sit and watch that stuff without the game itself. -

Raw, just so Shawn can have someone else to feud with besides HHH. And since they'll likely be Jesus Buddies, maybe Shawn will actually sell for him more than Taker or Bradshaw would.

I've seen this game in motion. Lame-o. Some guy ran the pen back and forth over a screen which made it turn from blue to purple to green to yellow then red and so on as Sonic ran faster down a trail. You couldn't make him turn or jump or otherwise seperate him from his rail, just control the speed he's running at.

Threats of violence and freedom of speech

I didn't want to go to that school either, but chances are the school I would go to instead would be worse and I needed the diploma. Nobody goes to jail just for threatening to kill someone. Otherwise 90% of rap musicians would be in jail right now. -
The many things you all have taught me in the two years that I've been posting here have proven invaluable. I thank you for them all. I have learned that there is no place like home. I've also learned that every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings. And I've learned all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I've also learned you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If at first you don't succeed, try try again. Abscence makes the heart grow fonder. Practice what you preach. Oh, I've learned lots of things! Let's see... An object in motion will be moving in the wrong direction. An object at rest will be in the wrong place. The energy requried to move an object in the correct direction or put it in the right place will be more than you wish to expend but not so much as to make the task impossible. I've also learned that the perversity of the universe tends towards the maximum. I also know it is impossible for any device that operates on a cycle to receive heat from a single reservoir and produce inert amount of work. I also know that no good deed goes unpunished. Ninety percent of everything is crud. Anything that can go wrong will. And never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity. Also, if there are two or more ways of doing something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it. But most of all, what I have learned from all of this, my friends, is: No matter what happens, no matter what life throws at you, you must ALWAYS remain cynical.

But hey... Can I do it? Can I do it? ("Yes, JOTW" says the rest of the board. "You can do it.") Oh goodie. WHOOSH~!

Except you just did.
