Disney isn't selling it to another studio. They're just simply closing the lid on the whole thing and putting it up on the shelf where it won't be seen by public eyes. Having followed Disney for so many years, they haven't really played politics since the Cold War, when Walt bought into McCarthyism. Eisner is money-focused, which is why it's weird that this isn't being sold around to the other studios. The only time they usually quietly pull the plug on a project and eat the cost associated with it is animation projects.

Actually, every now and then, he asks some good questions. However, he never provides answers or provides wrong ones. BFC said that pop culture like shooter games and Marilyn Manson can't be blamed for school violence, but that we've somehow created a culture of violence in America that's killing people. So, uh, we have a cultural problem, but culture is not to blame?

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/06/politics/06CABI.html To ape a wrestling line: Is their strife inside the n-Dubya-o? TUNE INTO FOXNEWSLOL TO FIND OUT! Personally, although I seriously doubt Rumsfeld will go anywhere for this immediately, I always suspected Cheney would become Seceretary of Defense in the event of a second term, and the more Republicans change their mind about Rumsfeld, the more it might happen. It'd also put Dick on familiar ground and he's clearly the brains of the whole war on terror anyway (and no, I'm not saying it has anything to do with That Company which starts with H), and put to rest fears that a guy with a known heart condition could possibly become President.

Rumsfeld getting heat from Bush

Well, can't you just picture him onstage doing the Hogan air guitar? Vyce sez: Really? I recognize the guy's name, but can't place it with a face. Is he a regular on the talking head circuit or something? -
I expect this kind of product shill from Vince McMahon (in fact, I openly said he needs to do it to keep costs down in a WWE folder thread), but from the MLB? No fucking way.

Seriously, ain't it something? I bitch and moan when Israel uses an abusive form of overpowered intimidation (think "firing live rounds near a kid for throwing rocks at a tank" or "targeting people who aren't being dangerous") but people like h4u don't seem to understand. I don't agree with Israel on all the political issues (what's up with Palestinian families unable to get clean, disease-free water with Israeli settlements nearby watering their fresh-cut lawns?) but retaliaiting for something like the first post only makes sense. If some cult was in our country doing half the shit these guys do they'd get a full Waco-style parade of FBI and military vehicles coming at their door.

Whoa, man. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, and *I* had difficulty sitting through Bowling. That K-Mart scene, good deed or no, pissed me off to no end. The kids didn't look nearly as enthusiastic about their crusade as Moore was, and it hit me in the head like a brick how blatantly he was using them for his own interest. Now if you'll excuse me, a plane just flew low over my house and landed somewhere within a nearby block. Ashcroft must be onto me.

The name sounds familiar, but I don't know why. Is this based off a book or something?
-
That does it. I'm officially no longer marking or defending the "new" Undertaker from claims that he hasn't changed. I knew Chokeslams would be the order of the day, but dude, you're not supposed to do the Last Ride on people right now. Goddamn.

I'm close to giving up on WWE forever...
Jobber of the Week replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Stop watching SmackDown until you hear it's good again. That's what I'd do. And stop bitching because you can't tell your friends about watching wrestling. God that shit is so common around here and it annoys me. Was it any easier to tell your friends about wrestling back in the way early days when it played up on trailer park stereotypes and men flinging pig shit at each other wasn't uncommon? Hm? Seriously, that "complaint" against the WWE is always just someone scapegoating for their own social angst. -

Didn't catch that Benoit/Rhyno abortion on SmackDown, huh? "Regular" Tajiri matches bore me. Now, I don't know if it was because of the "Can he do it?" factor or what, but Tajiri/HHH was far more interesting to watch than Tajiri vs A-Train or whatever other mid-card heel on SmackDown. Having become familiar enough with Shawn now (I wasn't watching during his previous stint) through tapes and enough matches on Raw to become exposed, he's not exciting me that much at all either, especially since about a year ago he stopped selling his weakened back and now there's no reason to get worked up about him being pounded on and making the comeback. However, I think it's safe to say that something is motivating HHH and Shawn right now to both work better than they regularly do. A fire under the ass, if you weeeeeel. -
My father is also one of those AOO kind of drivers who get real close to people to scare 'em if they do something intentionally stupid. He doesn't go on the freeway during rush hour unless there's a death, a birth, or a fire involved.

The movie will blow either way, doesn't matter to me. Also, Eisner plz step down thx.

Also, just so I can prove you wrong once for all, I guess the BBC, the Washington Post, the Washington Post again, MSNBC, the Boston Globe, and the fucking New York Times are all Conservative, because no lib source will touch the story. Now will everybody just 'fess up and admit there's no grand conspiracy here?

I can't tell you which papers put it in print and what page, but AP stories, particularly AP stories in the middle east, show up in a lot of papers and web sites.

AP Story AP Stories appear at a lot of news organizations. Including big ones.

SF adopts "Care Not Cash" welfare reduction

I don't know, but I imagine it's probably somehow checked against taxes? -
This idea (Regal using Eugene as a cheap way to acquire personal gain) is actually kind of brilliant, and fits in with that "Regal is a conniving bastard" bit they were firing off in those form letters to people complaining about the character.

I have a feeling that particular run will be broken fairly soon, barring some Cruiserweight-based miracle at Judgement Day. I thought the same thing at Backlash, and got proven wrong again, and No Way Out had the worst card in years. So now I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt. When they do me wrong, I'll bitch again. But one thing you have to agree on, the PPVs this year have so far delivered. I'm considering retiring from watching wrestling, but I might just quit the free shows and watch PPVs only instead if they can keep this up (they can't.) -
Yeah, but I'm sure she's a much better wrestler. No, doesn't matter if she's had training or not. Just because.
