Actually, AS reminds me of that one-time SNL character who hosts his own Yankees talk show or whatever and gets mad at every guest, charging at them until he's casually pushed to the floor, then he spends the next 5 minutes talking to the camera about what a bad thing he's done. "THAT DOES IT, YOU GOT ME ALL FIRED UP" That World Series was beautiful, btw, even as a guy on the other side of the continent where nobody cared about the action. The complete desolated silence in Yankees Stadium at the end made up for all the crappier moments of the series.

Microsoft now distributes free CDs that include all the patches, including Blaster, up to a certain date. Just pull the net plug when you reinstall, apply the patches from CD, then plug it back in before getting the patches newer than that.

Yes, I'm one of those people who wouldn't mind seeing Foley back full-time, though I know he never will. Hogan getting the Randy Orton honors. And for god's sakes, D'Lo Brown.

And when you take away the Kurds, that number goes significantly down. And Cartman, I like your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. -
The only reason the war on terror will continue is because people find it popular. A draft would kill the war, because while there's still a lot of people out there who think we haven't done enough to put 9/11 behind us. Once it's their kids who will have to clean up the problem, though, they suddently become a lot more accepting of the idea that we simply can't rid the world of terrorism and should just protect our own borders.

This is so funny that I'd make it my sig for the week if I didn't find it so offensive at the same time. And Zsaz, I wouldn't say the average IWC fan has bootleg tapes. I know there's a Japanese wrestling scene out there, and that the workrate is higher than WWE, and I don't care and I don't watch it except for some "Best of" compilations of wrestlers I like. It's worthless to me if I can't follow it on a regular basis and go to the live show when it comes to town (never.)

The OAO "The WWE Experience" Thread
Jobber of the Week replied to SuperJerk's topic in The WWE Folder
I wouldn't talk about it in front of teachers or girlfriends or people I'm trying to impress, but like I said, everyone I would call friends just doesn't care or understands because they watched at some point in the days prior to Russo. Nobody laughs or makes accusations, and if they bitch you out about it, then they're not really friends, no? -
Joanie. Damn you, that one is too easy. I actually typed that same answer and thought about it and tried to go for something a little more unpredictable.

That role is being saved for John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs Elian Gonzalez

I know this thread is several days old but I thought I'd clarify: The parents that McMahon hints abused him are his step parents. He wasn't even introducted to his biological father until Vince Sr. met a new woman and she demanded that he go back and spend some time with his children. I don't know about the biological mom and what she disapproves or if they're fighting about something or what, but these "Vince raped by Mom" stories spiral out of control on the internet.

Maybe he's just a wacko who thinks he's Jesus ala David Koresh or something. The Goldberg thing doesn't shock me. At all.

The OAO "The WWE Experience" Thread
Jobber of the Week replied to SuperJerk's topic in The WWE Folder
I've never seen that part. All of my friends either understand it, ignore it, or were fans themselves in the mid-90s or so. Nobody I know is a fan of it now, because they become so tasteless in their attempts at being edgy and XXXtreme and fresh and in your face and whatever else. Sounds like you need the Newsgroups Experience. -
I knew someone who had one of the each of the plaques they've made so far and kept them in one room. It was pretty wild.

The OAO "The WWE Experience" Thread

Here I thought it was on right now, turns out to be tomorrow. Too early. Regardless, Ye Olde Comcaste Boxe says: Further proof, in my mind, that DTV keeps trying to limit show descriptions down to one sentence. It's very irritating. -
Way too much Beatles imitation (especially "Look What You've Done"), but considering that Jet was also the name of a Paul McCartney song, I guess I shouldn't be suprised.
-
You think this is going to be ratings gold? Someone just sitting at a desk and reading off a list of names? This is ratings death, if anything.

Good lord. One can't even recognize the men who died for this country's cause without a bunch conspiracy nuts bitching about it. May I never be as skeptical as some of you are.

Thank you for setting policy, master. I consider groups like PETA and ELF to be extreme. Actually, I'd call ELF criminals for some of the things they've done. Those types are the extreme groups of the left. The groups you mentioned don't have anything on them, they mostly hold protests and rallies and don't hold graphic banners in public places or set fires to auto dealerships. To reverse what you're saying is to say that Rick Santorum is extreme. I don't, I think his comments were stupid and reflect badly on the GOP, but not extreme. Phelps would be the extreme. I think a case for the gay marriage people being extreme could have been made prior the the announcement by the White House stressing the need for a marriage amendment. The fact that the gay marriage groups gained numbers and recognition in the wake of that is pretty elementry.

Back from my trip. I was so crazy tired when I left that I actually set an incredibly bad date range, saying I was going on vacation from late May until early March. WTF?!?!?!?!??! Anyway, I've long spoke out against IndyMedia and wouldn't take it seriously for a second. I view it as the left-wing version of NewsMax.

Catholic Church recommending that pro-choice
Jobber of the Week replied to a topic in Current Events
Yes, they are politicizing. This new statement isn't issued towards ANYONE who's less than pro-life on abortion. Only politicians. It's completely political. -
Mike pointed out the blatantly obvious, which I already made note of (Japanese government has a very shitty way of doing things, ie charging people airfare to come home after being kidnapped.) Marney then expounded on that while acting offended. Check and check. And Marney, in that previous case, the guy was standing in front of a child, not a terrorist. And you still haven't said anything to show how this is an exception to your "This is a battlefield, don't fuck around on the battlefield because you'll get shot, kidnapped, or worse" routine from that time.

Catholic Church recommending that pro-choice
Jobber of the Week replied to a topic in Current Events
While I can appreciate your view here, the Catholic Church should not simply change its views to keep with the times. There are fundamental right and wrong. The Church does not approve of abortion. If Kerry disagrees with their stance, then they do have the right to excommunicate him. He also has the right to choose another religion. -=Mike What about those of us that think churches shouldn't take political stances? Pray, read your holy book, worship, etc. Fine with me. Religion and politics have never, EVER been good bedfellows. -
Yup. I read the opening of Stupid White Men and gaining interest in the book, but then I got to the race chapter.

WWE Wrestlemania XX DVD in my hands now...
Jobber of the Week replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
Couldn't be, the crowd loved that match, by everything I heard, and gave Benoit a legit standing ovation.
