Here in NorCal, they hardly ever come up here for anything. Judgment Day 2000 (I think? Whichever one Taker debuted at) was in Sacramento or something and I simply forgot about it (was a mark then who didn't care enough to go to a show), and Summerslam 2001 was in San Jose, which is too far for me to want to go with as bad as the shows were getting around that time.No Way Out came all the way to San Fran, which was kind of neat, and I went to that. So yes, we do get a lot of PPVs, but we get almost no house shows or free TV shows. But other than that, it's been whatever WrestleMania is within traveling distance. And I'm pretty suprised that's going to be 19 and 21.

They kept the Hollywood thing tacked on for no good reason, but he was Hulk Hogan once WM18 week passed. By the time he came back for 19, they dropped the Hollywood label. I'm thinking more of Great American Bash, where Hogan fought Billy Kidman, as a face, in his Hollywood Hogan duds. Everything but the spraypainted tee. Crowds were pretty unresponsive, even for 1999 WCW,

Agreed. It's like Hogan in a way. Red, White, & Blue Hogan is kind of tacky, especially in a day and age where over cliche'd international villain heels can't make it out of the midcard. While it's cute for one or two matches, and there's no denying that the whole Hulkamania thing was over, he quickly looked like a clown when guys like Shawn Michaels stepped up. Then you have "Hollywood" Hogan, which was a lot more interesting and actually was an image capable of making the old fart look like a cool dude, even if he was still doing the same old shit. Also, he's stuck strictly as a heel in this role and usually has the weight of the NWO name and stable. Bischoff tried a babyface Hollywood in the New Blood shit and it didn't work. That's why Undertaker is a lot more versatile. Not only do all his characters work either as a face or a heel, but now he's managed to take the most popular bits of both characters and weave them together. You'll never have Hollywood Hulkster talking about vitamins and Hulkamania while wearing black & white. Or at least it's not going to get over.

23-lb Disabled Teen Dies; Mom Arrested

That's pretty much what I thought. He has to be dwarf-like short at least. -
Thank you for not sparing Goldberg from the big stink-eye. I hope to read of his departure on WWE.com soon. Funny. A lot of people in Seattle were all awe'd and exclaiming "I knew it!" when the WMXX promo first aired. Ah. Good. I was concerned that Eddie was going to have his face smashed down into Austin's beer-soaked apron. It was bad enough with Scott Hall.

The monster push was kind of running on the same idea that followed HHH's push. If you tell the audience enough times that a guy is a future main eventer, he will be. I was at a show from the era where Brock couldn't buy a reaction. I think pairing him up with Paul was a bit of a mistake. Not that Paul couldn't talk, but most the audiences don't remember Paul E Dangerously and his cell phone, and see the guy as a former ECW owner and why's he hanging around with this beefy dude? I think Rock/Brock kind of had that unique "Oh shit" feel to it with a guy who's a crowd favorite with a guy made to look unstoppable. Because that was the show Rock came back and did his "Austin can take his ball and go home" promo, and as soon as the cameras went off the air and Lesnar's music hit and interrupted Rock's, he got a hell of a lot more reaction than he did facing Booker T just before that.

I was expecting the show to be held at Las Vegas' Thomas & Mack because of the 21 and it's significance in blackjack. *shrugs* I also didn't expect it to be announced right away. Last year it made sense because they were dead-set on MSG. It sounds like most people expected an MLB/NFL arena though.

I also loved the image of him walking on the glass floor of lightning. Hell, the floor screen added a whole new dimension to the sets (although one that could only be seen on TV) and is something I wouldn't mind seeing on future PPVs.

Would you rather he be jobbed out to The Undertaker, again? If nobody stands up to the even-steven booking or the younger talent jobbing to older talents, Vince will never "get it," and someone like Spanky isn't going to do it. Someone has to leave a hole in Vince's lineup for him to understand.

Was business in the shitter in early 2000?

I'm with Andrew. I cannot vote for a guy who is Pro-Torrie.

They deliver the lights and the entrance, and let's be honest, that's what everybody wanted. The original Undertaker ring style involves flooring main eventers with a single right hand and other stuff that's simply unreasonable in a world filled with legitimate wrestlers, moderate amounts of psychology, and submissions. As RD Reynolds put it: The main complain about this Undertaker is that the Badass Taker wouldn't sell, but Dead Taker doesn't sell either. The guy's seniority keeps him on top and as long as he gets pops and doesn't sink ratings, he's not going to be jobbing that often. This protection has been what's allowed him to stay on top even longer. Just be thankful he's heading for the Exit door soon. Back to my point though, each reinvention of the Undertaker character carries on the legacy of the last ones, which is why it's been such a draw past it's opening years. And each time it changes, a whole bunch of people complain about how it's either a crappy change or not what they expected. And yet by the time it's come to change the look again, everybody long has forgotten their complaints about the last one. I can't believe I'm defending Undertaker, but there it is.

Big Show is not my favorite, but I give him my Most Improved award for the past year. And he's still better than, oh, FGB. I can't believe Anglesault is defending him, though.

Shane for 51% kthx -
As long as he's a ZOMBIE biker, it's fine by me. The Undertaker character has changed and evolved numberous times, and anything was better than the last one. Each one has always had people pissing and moaning, too.

Probably because Foley was the guy who went to MSG for the Snuka/Morocco match?

WWE News: Goldberg's Future, Edge, SD!, Stern

So I lose Kong, who I was enjoying when he wasn't jobbing all the time, but at the same time I don't have Fuck Goldberg in my hair anymore. Huh, it's kind of a push. -

While Bush seems intent to take as big a shit on the Constitution as FDR did in the New Deal, I don't think it's through tax cuts. He has every bit that Bush does, but it's not like he was my pick or anything.

Heh. Bring it on. "Appearantly, they [the advocacy groups] think I'm disgusting. I'm not the one licking other people's shitholes! And they think I'm disgusting!" -Sam Kinnison

From taking on the office to becoming more charismatic in the ring (he always was outside), Big Show is quickly becoming more and more of a reason to watch for me. His "Buy the shirt" promo with Mysterio was one of the best comedy skits this year. I have no idea how they managed to repair a guy who went from face to heel and back so many times, but he's been doing a hell of a job as of late.
