Someone at another, conservative-only board.

That's good, but not nearly as being asked a question about responding to a national emergency and then rambling on about taking on "Big Hollywood and Big Trial Lawyers" before stopping, looking stupid, and then asking what the question was. I'm looking through commentary from some venemous Republicans. One says he's lost respect for the Vietnam torture McCain endured because he said this. Talk about partisan blinders.
-
If partisan politics gets in the way of this THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY. Watching Cheney trying to fight McCain in a debate will be so very, very enjoyable.

Whoa, holy shit. Comcast: That's STANDARD ANALOG CABLE there, fellas. And that doesn't even include a ton of the stuff Total Choice Plus has for $42.99. (mouth drops) Now I remember why I went with D*. This is my area, though, it may not be the same for you.

Okay, okay. Back to the free-speech zone. If you guys need me, I'll be in Alaska.

That's what the second one was for. Andrew, I still reccomend Crimson Skies even if you're not going online, but you might want to think about it in the future. Imagine a bunch of planes flying around a battlefield in the sky playing Catch The Chicken (when you have the chicken, you literally see it hanging onto the wing of your plane for dear life.)

Okay assuming "Step Up" is the WM XX theme
Jobber of the Week replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't know if you've noticed, but WMXX is looking more and more like Just Another PPV. Just one with a big, 12-month ad campaign. No Bret, no Hogan, nothing like 17's Gimmick Battle Royale, etc... The guys who were demanding 4 hours of new faces going over established stars got their wish, and the show seems interchangable with any other PPV. Oh, wait, "cross-promotional" matches. I forgot about that. Joy. -
So how are you going to see WM20?
Jobber of the Week replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
I shall just download it hours later, hopefully in SVCD, though that will be a LOT of discs. -
Then I hope it comes here at some point. I'm still afraid to ask 2Gold what he's yelling about.

Posting to say that Rob made CNN this morning: Congrats RF, on your newfound celebrity.

Well, prices do eventually come down for almost everything. Unless they only make a very limited run and then can it, I can't see why prices won't eventually fall to more reasonable levels. It'll still be an expensive toy, but it won't be Starve For Several Checks expensive. =b Who wants to record in HD? We'll find out as more people have HD to watch. Your guys at Comcast making and HD-DVR eventually will probably help bring those prices down. Also, you didn't tell me what the "MS Guide" is? I just spent another evening flipping through guide pages of channels I don't receive in TVGuide Int. so I'm excited at the prospect of any on-screen display that trumps it in usability.

I know that you don't have the kind of PC to play Knights of the Old Republic, and I know that you and I are both Xenosaga haters (but for different reasons, IIRC), so I reccomend that game. It's story is not only better than Eps 1 & 2, it may actually be better than the original trilogy. The gameplay is great too. Rent Ninja Gaiden and see if the difficulty raises your interest or makes you want to drive a controller into a wall. If you care about sports games, the ESPN lineup is really good. CRIMSON. MOTHERFUCKING. SKIES. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is like a shooter without the rails, the soundtrack sounds like a major Hollywood motion picture, and the variety of vehicles and quests are awesome. Also has great Live play, if you want to get into that. Generally, multi-platform games look best on Xbox. So if you wanted to play something like 007 Everything Or Nothing (3rd person, and pretty good btw) it'll almost always be best on Xbox. The only exclusion is if it's from EA and you have a PS2 with a broadband adapter. EA is boycotting Xbox Live. Mod chips also allow the console to do all sorts of crazy things, from play just about any kind of movie known to man on your TV (they can even be streamed real-time from your PC without any lag or problems) to using the Xbox as a one-in-all emulator of SNES, Genesis, NES, Atari Whatever, and even some limited PSOne support. However, you'll have to disable the mod chip abilities to use Xbox Live as machines are immediately banned if the chip is on to prevent cheating. And for God's sakes, get the small controller if you have the big one.

If he's still there and it's uncovered it's the end for them. It's that simple. All that needs to happen is they get caught once, and it's over. I believe he's out but I don't put money in their pockets or asses in their seats so it really doesn't matter. RF was a major league asshole prior to this, and anyone who had no problem supporting him then shouldn't have a problem with it now that he's allegedly gone. Again, one time, in any capacity, and they're cooked.
-
I never supported Kerry, but it doesn't matter, really. And none of the mud about Kerry matters either. Kerry is nearly irrelevant in this election, as it comes down to those who desperately want Bush to have a second term versus those who despeately want to see someone, ANYONE, replace Bush. Besides, it's not like Bush is a great public debater.

np Same anywhere else. These channels never had a west coast feed.

HDTVs used to only be in the league of the Mercedes Benz class, so we'll see HD Tivos go down with time. Another NY provider got complaints, I remember, because they canned TechTV for YES, which attract two very different spectrums. GEEK VS JOCK FIGHT!

Did anybody notice last night that Lawler and JR totally forgot to mention who's sponsoring the WrestleMania Pizza thing? I sat and watched the segment in slow motion and the only thing I can read on the box are just the slogans, dates, and WM and Snickers logos. A press release on Google mentions the pizza box, but doesn't actually name a sponsor. Does anyone know if this is an actual promotion? For some perverted "I'll collect anything related to wrestling" reason, I have a hankering for a WMXX pizza box.
-
That's ReplayTV. Tivo has never had such a thing.
-
MS Guide? Huh? Watching old Double Dare repeats on GAS (not on DTV) and getting all nostalgic over it has made me feel like I'm selling my soul to Comcast in the past few days, but that awful box interface always drives me away from fully embracing it and keeps me a staunch satelite fanboy. But I'm now more open since I'm planning on taking a wrestling hiatus after WM and live Raw doesn't mean that much then. Also, do you know if the HBO channels on Comcast are 5.1? I've read on the company's site that you have to order HD service to get a 5.1 box, but I don't know if only the HD channels are 5.1. Because we're currently enjoying non-HD 5.1 HBO.
-
Oh? I haven't used it but someone I know online has it with his cable. He talks about how it's basically a Tivo built into the cable box or something, running from a server in Chatsworth Now that's interesting. But anything is better than the model we're currently using. At this point, I'm close to willing to pay more money to NOT have that stupid TV Guide Interactive interface, and have a more friendly, easier OSD guide instead. I still don't know why that thing sometimes starts with the channel I'm on when I push guide but 90% of the time jumps to channel 2. It makes no sense, I tell ya. Edited: Why in the fuck did I type VOD instead of OSD? Guess I'm getting distracted here in reality.

It's called a DVR. Look into it. Care to tell me what that means in non-codeword form?

I think the dick-size waving over the number of premiums has always been a little silly to me, as there's too many declarations that Brand X is better than Brand Y over something like east AND west coast feeds (Wow, a 3 hour time delay. That's really worth something when I own a VCR.) I don't know about the others than HBO but what Comcast has here than DTV doesn't is HBO Comedy and HBO Zone. I have no fucking clue what Zone is supposed to be. I thought Comedy would be cool if it was 24hr standup and Carlin specials but the one time I watched it they were airing "Kangaroo Jack." But the point is more than a tad moot when our friend NoCalMike doesn't live in a Comcast region.

Ah yes, it's time for Jobber's weekly foray into the Movies/TV forum. This show opened great and then stunk for me. I loved the old Martha Stewart character and I was glad to see it return in wake of current events although the jokes in that bit were a little flat. Everything else, No. Tim Calhoun is up there with Donatella Versaci on my Least Favorite Skits list. The Sopranos thing is amusing but I think it's pretty sad when MadTV has made the best Sopranos skit so far (the censored PAX-TV one.) Meet The Press wasn't as good as the usual Hardballs. It just seemed blah.
