I just saw the Angle/Eddy WM video package and I still don't believe it.

Hey now, I'm a guy who lives part of the year in San Francisco and I'm not... Well, wait a minute. Nevermind.
-
Booker T goes from using the same theme for almost 10 years and then suddently goes through TWO bad themes.
-
I'm just saying it's going to be really sad after all of this if he winds up looking not like his younger self, but like an old man trying to be his younger self.

In-arena lightning makes NO SENSE BUT I LOVE IT
-
Wait until you see Taker though. He's not getting any younger, so we'll have to see how he pulls it off.

It would have been spookier if they didn't have the announcing jabbing.

1W isn't Bob anymore, btw. And it's 1W. Which means I don't know who to trust since I'm almost as cautious about 1W as I am about the Torch (my pick for Least Reliable Source in wrestling.) I'm curious to see if this news gets around because then I can trust 1W's sources a little more than I normally do.

Considering the audience is pretty much smarky, has anyone else wondered if this will actually cause people to give ROH more notice in a "no such thing as bad publicity" sort of way? They need to hurry up and get out there through non-RFVideo channels as soon as they can get the trust of the majority of their fans that Rob is gone. I myself have actually been watching more, although it's been all downloading so it really isn't drawing a profit for them (and also shows why selling tapes over the internet doesn't work as well as the more traditional stores. Because anyone hardcore enough to buy wrestling tapes over the internet usually knows where to watch for them for free on the usual P2P methods.)

Well, that and they make a ton of money. My local cable company has changed hands like a cigarette in a circle of 14 year olds. When I was born through most of my youth it was a tiny company called MultiVision. They were crap. For a number of years, Cartoon Network was a premium channel and the Preview Channel (now TV Guide Channel), which we enjoyed in the days before TVs had onscreen guides, got canned because, according to them, surveys showed that every channel including the Chinese/Cantonese stuff was getting more votes, so Preview went so they could keep adding more PBS stations from around the Bay. Whatever. So, in short, MultiVision sucked. But they kept pumping rates higher and higher. Why? Because that's what these provider companies make their money. Have you ever actually seen your cable bill go down? Anyway, MultiVision became something else, which became something else, and the selection of funny niche channels like Comedy Central and Game Show Network were still slim pickings, although eventually Cartoon Network became non-premium. In the mid 90s the next town over got a new provider, "CableONE" which provided more than what we got, which is when we got frustrated and went DTV. Then AT&T came in and bought everything and then Comcast bought AT&T. And that's where we are now. And despite all that collaboration, prices are STILL high. C-Band rocks, dude. Even the small dish people will acknowledge that C-Band is better than what they do, but what they do is better for the "average user." Uh? Dish is constantly getting in fights with content providers. How do they pay for all the legal mumbo-jumbo? They pass on the pain to you. In the end it winds up being about the same amount.

I believe there is a bit of a political storm surrounding the 9/11 commission thing, no matter how you spin it. Bless McCain for giving them more time, which made other Republicans nervous because it puts the findings closer to the election, and any possibility of some outrageous finding could put their main man's chances in jeopardy. GASP!

Actually, FCC restricting telco while turning a blind eye to cable is why Comcast owns all. Oh, wait, I see. I meant that in the anti-competitive monopoly sense, and you meant it in the positive compliment sense. Well, I wouldn't exactly say that. If you live on this coast, a lot of channels are available in PT-only form (used to be all of them, although now east coast premiums like HBO are suddently available.) Both have their ups and downs, but I enjoy watching Raw with the east coast smarks (which is most of everyone here it seems) and DirecTivo is almost the definition of the term "Killer App."

Some guy on that forum: *realizes he has DTV at one house, Comcast at another* *realizes the DTV house needs a new dish* *maniacal laughter* Too bad we already piled on so many special offers that they're cancelling each other out now. I have a feeling we'll be sticking with digital at that location for at least as long as The Sopranos season runs anyway, though.

The OAO Sopranos season 5 thread
Jobber of the Week replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
I think the bear is symbolic of the Russian in the forest, but that's just me. My guess is he finally comes back. -
I just heard along the line that the page in the control panels for these board systems that informs you of updates may or may not (depending on the install, and this board seems like a "may") be telling you of all the latest available updates, including ones that patches up a pretty shitty exploit. Thanks.

Do you have a really strict firewall going? Like P2P programs, online games use odd TCP ports and stuff that some security programs block for paranoia and many college network administrators intentionally block to keep the students from bringing the entire network to a crawl through games.

The OAO Sopranos season 5 thread
Jobber of the Week replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
It's already aired, do we need spoiler warnings? Anyway... How the hell is that new? He's a lot more forceful and direct about it. She finally digs into him about how he doesn't give people honesty or respect and he suddently shouts a big Fuck You and leaves. -
Media Draw Fire for Underage Sex Stings
Jobber of the Week replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
Question: Would you be upset if your local media made a sweeps week story by inviting a bunch of internet pedophiles to YOUR neighborhood, with no authority to arrest them or do anything but humiliate them, then let them go off into your streets, near your schools, etc? While this embarasses people in the eyes of those who immediately know them (see the waves it made in the world of pro wrestling,) it does nothing to keep them off the streets or to keep them from continuing to prey on children. The people who live nearby have a right to complain. -
Actually, JMA seems more to me to fit the "free-thinking yadayada" profile than the "I'm a Rep/Dem who calls himself a Small-L libertarian in order to look impartial" types I usually see flinging the word around. kkk: Name Dropping is Hannity's version of "Kerry served."

I second the fluff vote. This has enough relevance to society as that story about the Japanese girls who wear their underwear day after day until it's stale and crusty.
-
Undertaker, definitely. The real question is second-place. MSG likes their hosses, and I guess the Goldberg/Brock will be the result of that. On one hand, I'd imagine the feud is eventually going to be Brock/Austin, but Austin is wounded and Goldberg has to job somehow. If it winds up being a swerve and Austin and Brock team up, expect the crowd to turn on Goldberg as it suddently becomes two WWF guys giving the WCW punk what he's getting for crashing WrestleMania in the building of McMahon.

I was under the impression that Ki was planning to go well before this, and Heenan wants to obligate himself to WrestleMania instead. Let's be honest, this is a good reason as any to leave the company if you have another reason to leave, and a WM20 paycheck certainly counts.
-
I remember a lot of people laughing at Kevin Nash's pain. I know, I was leading it.
-
Powerplay: Hah. And the funny thing is that all the "free thinking libertarians" I know are Republican tools, including the most consevative guy I've ever seen. "My fellow Americans, I have raised our nation's debt by millions and ended a term by wiping my ass with the Constitution, putting me in company with a number of great Presidents. Please vote for four more years, so that hopefully, with enough pressue and legislation, you can vote for me a third time." Nah. Doesn't really work.

Teen tries to kill girl, to have sex w/her corpse

Wow. This thread was older than I thought it was. Nevermind...
