If you just want a shirt with fake blood splats all over it and no wrestling context, there's a ton of those at the local Hot Topic, so what would be the point?

If ECW dies, please send Tazz to RAW to replace Lawler. JR and Tazz co-announced an interpromotional match once (Royal Rumble, I think?) and not only was Tazz on the ball but it was like JR gained 40 IQ points or something, his announcing wasn't constantly being hindered by having to figuratively tug on Lawler's leash every few minutes. Jerry "settle down, Beavis" Lawler is the blemish on the WWE announce table, I'm sad to say since I liked the guy once. JR/Tazz on Raw and Cole/Bradshaw on SD would keep things decent, if not very good.

More of the leftists here need to educate themselves on the opposition, and watch "The Dark Side," a Frontline documentry about the roots of the Bush administration. It's freely available to watch online, so there's not really any excuse. When you watch this and see who really operates things, you can almost feel sorry for Dubya. He is essentially a big-picture guy who just instinctively trusts the words of the operators who tell him what to do. His total trust in his staff to the point where he outright refuses to investigate anything himself is ultimately his real failing.

Yes, because Paul made money when he was running the thing on his own. Come move to the west coast and watch on cable feed where you have to wait 3 hours and the posters on this forum (who seem to live majorily on the east side) have already torn into it. The shows ARE better than usually called on here, although even without the TSM commentary thread there was no denying that last week's Raw was a piece of shit, even compared to the past few Raws before it. I mean, the Kane angle was just dropped and forgotten about, which is lousy booking. The only time I trust TSM's quality judgments is the immediate opinions after a PPV, because there's only a few people who order any particular PPV, and they're usually more dedicated and able to judge the value of a show than the usual "this sux somebody kill stephhh already" people here.

North Korea Agrees to end Nuke Program
Jobber of the Week replied to Prime Time Andrew Doyle's topic in Current Events
Since the fallout would drift into either South Korea, China, or Japan, the answer to this question (which didn't even end in a question mark) is "No, you are an idiot." -
This happens a lot here. Some organization is buying space on billboards to put messages in Spanish telling people not to do that, since I guess it's believed that the immigrant families are the ones doing that the most.

Gee, that's a great analogy for dying in combat. Makes it sound almost painless when you look at it that way.

I'm sorry, I did kind of screw that up. I meant to say Stone Cold before KOR, where he was mostly just getting heat for beating up other guys with gimmicks that crowd hated. I don't think Austin's earlier promos were much to talk about. I've seen a lot of his WCW promos and I don't think he discovered the magic of a good promo yet. Never seen old ECW, sorry. This one's your fault. If you read what I had wrote I said he started off with a great speaker, but then slowly turned to the X-Pac region when I believe that his character was watered down, and the jerseys and unique character elements were tossed out for his smiling good guy routine. Now, whether he continues to be a milquetoast face or regains his edgy persona is of little relevance, Vince is sure that Cena is the future regardless.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that I can think of no better black-ops group than a collection of very large people with recognizable features and moderate mainstream popularity. Give me the chapter where Big Show infiltrates a private party and attempts to blend in. When you need serious help, call THE HOSS SQUAD.

Let me put guys into five categories: Category A: The complete package. A rare breed of guys who can work and can put on a great promo. Examples: Eddie Guererro, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho Category B: Guys who can work but have no charisma and may not be able to talk. Examples: Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Stone Cold prior to injury. Category C: Guys who can compensate for being a bad worker with mic skills. Examples: The Rock, Stone Cold after injury, Scott Hall prior to self-destruction, Mick Foley Category D: Guys who have little to no charisma and cannot lead a good match. Examples: Randy Orton, Mark Henry, X-Pac, Batista Category E: Guys who are allowed to be lazy because the promotion is high on them. Examples: The Undertaker, Triple H, Goldberg, Bradshaw, Sting, The Big Show, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash Now then, here's now likely they are in order of getting a push, from most likely to least likely: Category E Category A Category C Category D Category B So where is John Cena? I'd say he started out as Category C, would be coming into Category D range if it weren't for the fact that management is adding him to Category E.
-
I don't know about that. I can enjoy a very athletic worker such as Benoit, but I can also enjoy a guy who has to get by on the appeal of his promos such as Christian. I think everyone has at least one favorite who is more charisma than he is wrestling ability.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/re...ch/1282151.html You may have noticed that this article's publishing date is 9/11/01 which is probably why nobody remembers it or bothered to notice it's existance, but it does show that it wasn't some kind of secret that a strong hurricane would annihilate the city.

This is why the rest of the world hates you. Not that you care or anything. It's certainly nothing exclusive to us. Just about any other sovereign nation can use or not use it's military as it sees fit.

Could you say that again? I can't hear you over The Rock's crowd pop. Oh, hold on, Hogan is cupping his ear so it's getting even louder.

Smarks are filling arenas now? If you looked at posts here from '02 and '03, you'd think RVD was some kind of wrestling savior who could carry the whole company on his back if the company wasn't trying to mold him into an idea they already had in their heads. When Lesnar was being God Pushed, people were complaining about how Rob should be getting the push instead. Although much of the faith in RVD as a main-eventer was lost in the wake of the "Mr. Muscle & Fitness" feud that ended with HHH getting the pin and Rob going back to the midcard immediately. Rob is stuck in a tweener role at the moment on TV, and that hurts him because tweeners have difficulty getting over unless they either can talk well like Kevin Nash (whose NWO Wolfpac character was the reason the word tweener was invented) or have the popular support like Stone Cold prior WM13. RVD clearly isn't the face, Vince is determined to let Cena have that spot. He clearly isn't the heel, because Edge is a far better heel promo than Rob could be. As for why crowds don't like Rob but cheer Cena, Cena's overall popularity hasn't waned even when some live crowds have turned particularly smarky and booed him out of the building. Spinner belt replicas are a big mover on ShopZone. The shirts still sell consistantly, etc. Meanwhile, RVD is the only ECW guy consitantly saddled in promos with Paul Heyman, who WWE-bred fans have been trained to boo for years now. At the end of the day, Vince thinks Cena is the future, but he's pretty high on Edge as the next top heel, and he wants to get both guys over without either getting a clear advantage over the other. So RVD is stuck in the center as the sucker with plenty of plenty of belts to drop. To compare to past times: Cena = Trips Edge = Stephanie RVD = Undisputed Champion Chris Jericho
-
I'd probably own my own replica spinner belt by now if he kept the character he had in 03/04. Trading in his team jerseys to wear his latest ShopZone shirt, shitcanning the ramp walk raps that had that DX style sing-along moment for the crowd, and changing his smug attitude for a smiling "just happy to be here" guy, yeah, that's why I can't stand him.

The story with Imposter Kane and Kane.
Jobber of the Week replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
See, I saw something about this, but it said that Impostor Kane would turn out to be the character from See No Evil, as though he was actually a real and different guy, kayfabe being that the murderin' monster from the slasher flick had come to WWE and wore Kane's outfit. It didn't make much sense to me, but then I thought about it and it kind of made sense, since Kane took this guy's identity in the film, he would take Kane's identity on Raw. However, the whole thing ranks up there with the Zeus feud as far as stupidity, which kind of makes me glad that they ended the whole thing where they did. -
Care to elaborate on that? I'm not sure what you're talking about because that was a period with a lot of political transitions, not all of them good for the Democrats but good for war-fatigued folks.

This is going to cause some shock, but I think we had the right to invade just because, well, we have the right to start an invasion with whoever we want to. But, I think that right should only be flexed with good reason and intelligent planning, and neither of those were applied here. We rushed in sooner than we should have because some powerful people couldn't hold their shit together long enough to even plan strategies before we went in there. It isn't the most lethal war ever, but it could have been if the enemy was any kind of real organized force instead of some rag-tag militia. There's little excuse to be there now, though. Iraq has a government, there's no more transitionary elections coming up, it's time to back out. The last guy probably won't leave until after we're dead, much like other former warzones where we still have some presence in the region. However, either these people must put aside their race feuds and decide to have some organization in their lives, or the whole thing crumbles and it becomes a mess with no clear rule. If the latter happens, though, it would be time to consider if perhaps Iraq really would rather live in this kind of anarchy since they certainly had the choice to cooperate with themselves.

Well, I'd say he did the best he could and he had a lack of serious scandals. I'd say he was a good (not great, good) President, even though I don't like the guy personally for his talking smack about atheists.

The Rock in Rio show was horrible. Paradise City was horrible with a messed up opening. The other guys play like children banging on instruments. STOP IT.

The Revolution WILL be ganked, it appears. I think Sony is torn a new one this time. Their product strategy reeks of arrogance. Nothing is going to sell a $600 to anyone but hard-cores (remember the 3D0?) including Japanese developers. Developers are more excited about Wii and less excited about PS3 and have been holding their nose while dealing with Sony for a long time. This will be a huge failure for at least 2 years. I don't know what kind of alternate reality people who think it will "dominate" is. They're not even SERIOUSLY launching this year, because the worldwide launch means there won't be enough to cover demand in anywhere so you might as well consider them only getting serious next year. And even if you do insist that their launch date is their launch date, even though it's meaningless, they're STILL last to launch and have to convince people with one or maybe two next-gen systems that they need one more. Bullshit. Nobody is that gullible.

Social Issues Top GOP Pre-Election Agenda
Jobber of the Week replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
Bill Frist is part of the problem with this country. Despite being elected to a leadership position, he is a lap-dog for the executive branch and has minimized Congress' ability to keep a leash on the President. That's important whether you like the President or you don't. He looked especially dumb in the middle of the ports deal, where 24 hours with the administration caused him to do a 180 of opinion. The GOP may like him, but the general public won't. -
Jeffery Katzenberg HATES Disney with a passion because they kicked him out and he an Michael Eisner had a pissing match and still hate each other. Katzenberg tries to hit Disney's business whenever he can. The Wild was being made before Madagascar, but Katz made and released Madagascar to make people think The Wild was a rip-off. Since that stupid Siegfried & Roy tiger cartoon on NBC failed, they had a LOT of computer animated bushes and trees and jungle sets from that show to make the movie with, which is part of how it got done so quickly. Dreamworks has also released Shrek 2 on DVD the same day The Incredibles hit shelves, and made Shark Tale as part of Katzenberg's continuing War on Disney. The Antz/Bug's Life thing is supposedly just a coincidence and not part of his vendetta. Airplane is actually supposed to be a wrap-up of all those 70s disaster flicks. Airport, Towering Inferno, Earthquake, etc. Universal put out a TON of lousy disaster movies for a few years.

OAO WrestleMania 22 thread - 4/2/06
Jobber of the Week replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I just finished watching this show and since I can predict the pissing match that erupted out of it I feel the need to mention that WWE doesn't give a shit about whether you cheer or boo a guy, as long as they're amped about it. Hot heel crowd > Dead crowd
