McClintock was pretty much there representing the party establishment. Cali Republicans are/were divided and the guys that simply wanted to win were the ones pressuring McClintock. But the party still won that one anyway, so maybe I shouldn't quibble.

Brock Lesnar Getting Heat For Big Ego
Jobber of the Week replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Last time this happened around this time, he landed on his head. But the guy put on a great match, so I don't get the heat. -
City of San Francisco sues State of California

BIZZOWNED! The Attorney General basically told Arnold to fuck off even though his office plans to do... Something. LOL. Sometimes, I love this state. Riots? Ahh-nold, you so silly. Another Lockyer quote not mentioned here: "The governor can direct the Highway Patrol. He can direct the next Terminator 4 movie if he chooses. But he can't direct the attorney general in the way he's attempted to do." -
Thoughts: Hardball: Not as good as it usually is. Lines seemed kind of flat although the first sight of Horatio as Rosie O'Donnell was pretty funny. Monologue: Meh. Talking about what a skeez Aguilera was is SO 2003. Like Bob, I also don't care for the song. Sex in the City: I don't order HBO, I've never seen the show, it did nothing for me. Smiegel cartoon: It was funny the first 45 seconds or so, then it got boring. The funniest part was at the very end where. And that's it. I fell asleep at that point. Hardball was my favorite, and I wish I could have stayed up to see Maroon 5.

Okay then. Doesn't change what I was saying about the importance of an administration change and how it will help everyone left of center.

Pat Buchanan sticks it to the neocons
Jobber of the Week replied to Hogan Made Wrestling's topic in Current Events
He downplays the holocaust and pretends it never happened. He's also expressed admiration for Hitler. While he's taken some interesting sides in other issues, it doesn't hide the fact that he's a Nazi-loving facist. I think the game Mike is playing is a little less than respectable. I was just saying I've agreed with less-extreme views that Buchanan has also agreed with, but are in no way credited to him and have nothing to do with racism. It's like if I said you liked bin-Laden because both of you thought that ice cream tastes good or something. -
Yeah, I kind of figured that out. But how we did it is going to impact us for years to come. Assuming we ever leave. And the Middle-East is a region that has no hestitations about going to war with each other or anyone else. Guess which crowd I'd sooner want to fit into? Actually, I was talking about everything. Economically, socially, diplomatically, you name it. And Bush's brand of conservatism, unlike Reagan's, requires no brains whatsoever. The doubts about Iraq intelligence now are not shocking to some of us, because we kind of figured that was going to happen all along. We're just going to have to disagree about it there. It's not just what he's doing, it's how cocky and stupidly sure of himself that he's doing the right thing based on sketchy intelligence. It's like he's the reincarnate of Nixon. Look, you can sit and blow hot air about how much better we are than the rest of the world as much as you want, because in the end it's all politics. But the evidence isn't there that we needed to justify a full-scale invasion. Perhaps firing Tomahawk missiles isn't just a method to distract people from your blowjob scandal. Perhaps it's a good way to respond to sketchy threats with no solid intelligence without going in and turning over the entire government and creating a terrorist haven. I guess you're not paying attention the windbags. Like 'em or not, they are responsible for influencing a lot of mainstream opinion. And it's pretty obvious that our leadership is pretty ignorant or uninterested in the dissenting opinion. During the time of war, more than a few people believed that the US flag was somehow a statement in support of the war. And it's pretty obvious that the GOP doesn't mind the windbags shouting over the air about how all the Democrats and liberals are just red traitors comitting treason by trying to turn the US into a subsidiary of Europe. And they don't mind that their position is the only one that's able to get ratings. Let's just be honest here. Your guys are on a hot streak in just about every way right now. My guys are on the outside looking in, made impotant by the sheer numbers of your guys and usually unable to make any kind of an effect on decisions. Now, if the shoe were on the other foot, you'd actually want to get a victory, too. You wouldn't decide that half a loaf with the other party running everything was somehow better than no bread at all.

Pat Buchanan sticks it to the neocons
Jobber of the Week replied to Hogan Made Wrestling's topic in Current Events
No. Generally I was thinking of the concept that there's no need to intervene in every event of of violence overseas. But that's hardly a Pat Buchannan theory or something he can take credit for. -

That's why I said what I said, tool. I actually said he was pretty crazy. It's like Michael Savage-Weiner. There's another guy I think is a nutcase and I think his background pretty well proves it. But sometimes, I can actually nod my head in agreement on one thing he said, and then go back to "this guy's a nut" when he starts raving on again. -
Yeah, and I've heard the old "Republicrats" arguement over and over and over again. However, I think it's obvious while you can say that about certain issues and policies, the nation's standing worldwide as a leader of democracy took a plummet in disapproval in reaction to our conservative leadership, which everyone else isn't so fond of. Supporters appearantly have no reaction to that except for "Who cares what they think of us?" because, it would seem, the concept of "friends" is hard for them to understand. IMHO, this country will be in an incredibly tight spot if we take another four years of the current trend. Instead of being loyal a third party, it is more important to be loyal to your country this year, and vote for someone who has the resources to be a threat for the imcumbent. Although it's not a bad thing to help the Greens seek legitimacy, the conservative image people will have no problem marketing themselves as the "real" Americans, and their opposition (i.e. us) as some kind of Coulter-esque traitors. And then we're BOTH fighting uphill.

Should foreign-born citizens be allowed to...
Jobber of the Week replied to Downhome's topic in Current Events
* Put the car tax at previous levels, immediately blowing up the state debt even more and drawing the ire of pundits. But he said he was going to do that while campaigning anyway, so it wasn't like it was some kind of sneaky trick. * Repealed illegal immigrant licenses * Made a few proposals to the legislature that got shot down by Democrats. * Proposed a bond which got flak from both Dems and hard-conservative Republicans (including his Republican recall opponent, Tom McClintock) but has grown into a bipartisan effort, gaining support of Democrats including the very liberal Dianne Feinstein. * Not much else. -
Poll Shows George W. Bush's Job Approval Falling
Jobber of the Week replied to a topic in Current Events
Those polls had a lot of different factors. For instance, the reason the Wisconsin poll turned out wrong was because of independents and people who had remained No Opinion until the very last second. Now, we're talking about a guy who's been President for three years. I doubt there's a lot of people left who haven't formed an opinion on him. -
Agree/disagree with the following statements?

Should foreign-born citizens be allowed to...
Jobber of the Week replied to Downhome's topic in Current Events
I wouldn't have a problem with it, since there's a lot of immigrants who would probably make better leaders than some of America's own (like, say, this guy orthis guy), but the amount of work to go into changing something in the Constitution that we've always had there and abided is so much, that especially in this political climate I don't think it will happen. -
It would have helped if he didn't start lying the moment he got into office. All those claims about how the Clinton administration had totally vandalized the White House and left it in a condition completely unfit to run a government? Investigated by Congress, found out to be false. But yes, even the biggest idealogue could be considered a uniter if suddently the entire country shifts to his view.

It's hard to whine when you have 20 times as much money as the other guy. I consider 2000 Bush to be the real campaigning Bush, not this stupid fake modesty Bush we've been seeing lately.

Pat Buchanan sticks it to the neocons
Jobber of the Week replied to Hogan Made Wrestling's topic in Current Events
Buchannan is an isolationist paleo-conservative. He's pretty crazy, but sadly there's been times now where I believe a very small, very select amount of Pat Buchanan wisdom would actually do us better. His opposition to us intervening in every world conflict is a big part of that. -
Nader has set his own agenda back by his constant running. Why not actually do something to build up a third party from the ground floor, and run for Congress? It would actually give you strong chance to win.
-
Shouldn't this have happened, like, six months ago?
-
It's not him who is dividing the country, it's the opposition party because they want to win back the White House. He's have to push Universal Healthcare to get any love from Dems right now... 1) Uh, LOL? The left and the right hated it equally. Perhaps it united people in their dislike of his plan. 2) This is bad not only because it's underfunded, but because it punishes poor schools by taking away funding, leaving them unable to improve. 3) I'll leave this one alone. Both sides are doing it and I can't stand it, so I'm not the one to judge whether he's co-opting Democratic issues or what. 4) Okay then. 5) This is actually more of a problem. It has caused many a pork project to pass. But this election will not be built on immigration, energy, vetoes, and education will actually just be something mentioned in passing. This election will be built on, hopefully (assuming something else doesn't distract the debate, such as gay marriage) the economy. And there this President has been soley on the side of the people who work in the highest floors of the company hierarchy. Not to mention that these tax cuts, which were supposed to be the solution according to the supply-side people who desperately want to see that work, did nothing.

Seeing that the Hardy Boyz burned out as far as they could go and the Dudleyz are no longer nearly as big a draw as they used to be with marks, would it be better to move Christian to Raw instead of moving Edge to SmackDown and reform E&C? The SD tag titles are just a realm of absolute DEATH right now and putting some strong heels who we also haven't seen in a while could do a lot to revive the scene. On the other hand, it also means delaying Edge's big push. My arguement to that is that we though we've seen "Edge's big push" several times already and the push never turns out to be as big or as successful as we think it would be. It'd also give Eddie a bit more time at the top while he's a ratings draw. Last time I proposed this question about a year ago (I think) everyone told me that I was off my rocker, so now I'm going to try again. Edge & Christian cocky heel reunion? Please?
