    Disney has bought the Muppets.

Comcast appears to be walking away. They have from other attempted takeovers, and they seem intent not to pay anymore than the initial offer for this one. The big deal here is this: Now, anyone familiar with the brief Henson/Disney alliance in the 90s knows that Eisner's greed disgusted the Henson family and caused the deal to be off. My guess is Eisner did this move not just to keep the company growing and give it more assets, but the emphasis on what a good guy Eisner is by Henson Jr shows to me that he (Eisner) must be desperate to hang onto his position.

A good journalist in this case would present evidence and draw a conclusion. I had difficulty continuing reading past those opening points because it sounds like the writer is expressing his opinion instead of drawing a conclusion on evidence, and it turns away those who don't agree with him. It's like if I wrote a news story and starting it off by saying the President may have lied to us. And then started reporting on missing WMDs and the reasons for going to war. If I laid out the facts first and then surmised that just maybe the President could have lied (or, if there's solid evidence he did lie, that he did) it would sound more factual.

    BOMBSHELL TIME~!

I agree. Let's start with our current one and this Halliburton thing. And then we can move on to see if we can find any more people besides one who remembers meeting him in the Guard, and will swear to it in court. I know that if I met the son of a well-known Congressman in the service, I'd remember it. And then, when he's finally left the White House, we can all gripe about what an ineffective President he was when his power was being heavily circumvented by all these independent investigations being commissioned to look into his past. Oh, wait a minute, that last part sounds familiar.....

    BOMBSHELL TIME~!

Even she said it's false (in Clinton's case, only he ever denied it), which puts the burden of proof not on the accused but on those presenting it as fact (i.e. Drudge.)

I am immediately suspicious of media that makes insinuations and accusations ("Not coincidentally, these countries have had something close to full gay marriage for a decade or more." and "Will same-sex marriage undermine the institution of marriage? It already has.") *BEFORE* they present any evidence.

If Roy Moore simply broke the law to make a statement, I'd still not like his statement, but I'd consider him another one of those people breaking laws to try and send a political message, and hey, a lot of things good and bad have come from peaceful lawbreaking conduct. But he was also costing state taxpayers regardless of what they thought of his position. Now, San Francisco is facing a lawsuit from a conservative group over this. But the suit was quickly filed before the marriages were even being performed. It was a reactionary lawsuit filed when news broke that they were investigating performing the marriages. So the taxpayer is paying fees whether the marriages were performed or not. And in that case, hell, might as well do the marriages. They were going to be paying the price regardless.

HHH going over at Wrestlemania again

Whoa. We need more mods like you. Anyway, HHH or no HHH, I've always figured that Benoit will never win the title, so there's really no anger or rage from me here.

    Greg Maddux signs with Yankees

The problem isn't that the Yankees buy all the talent, the problem is that they buy them at such high prices. Take a look at total spending of everybody in the league and you'll see that nobody spends anything close to New York. This Yankees inflation drives up the price of players like mad. So it's not that they hire these guys, it's that they overpay for so many of them that the price of MLB players on a whole is on the rise.

Boston Globe: Dean Campaign Drawing to an End

Quayle. Potatoe. Yep. Dean's Yaaaaaaargh is to Quayle's Potatoe. Thankfully for the other candidates, Bush's carrier landing is to Dukakis in the M5 tank. However, the Yarrrrrgh wasn't the reason the campaign died. It was the fallout. As I said, he turned off a lot of Iowans with his RAGERAGERAGE campaign. That would work a lot better over in this state than it would over there. The campaign was already dead, and Yaaaaaaaaaargh was simply the soundbyte that will be associated with it.

I gotta agree with the frontpage of the local paper: However, according to ESPN, Cashman has denied involvement with Maddux.

    Few WWE Notes

I liked Shaniqua better than the Bashams themselves. At least she almost never had a match. That and when she said "Let's go boys, and whip it good!" in her best serious voice. That's such a damn stupid line that it made me laugh with how straight a face it was being delivered.

If you want to make sure that we don't have a population problem, then society needs to be less taboo about sex and stop freaking out when something as simple as a woman letting her boob fall out happens on TV. However, sex currently IS a huge near-omnipresent concept in this country. From movies to advertising to even the stupid scandal stories that take front page precedence over real news, sex is commonly talked about here. Sex as a hush-hush concept will create less children than sex being out on display, IMO. And sorry if I offended you, I just assumed you made up your mind already since, well, you usually already do.

Boston Globe: Dean Campaign Drawing to an End

That's what Dean's people want you to think. I have to agree with the Washington Post writer who said that the breaking point for Dean was when he commanded someone sit down after asking why he (Dean) was so loud and obnoxious when it came to complaining about Bush. Dean said something about how he didn't feel like being nice to Bush with everything he's doing to ruin the country and then told the guy to sit back down. Right then and there, a whole bunch of Iowans decided not to vote for the guy.

    Pipes lecture disrupted

I'm trying to corroborate this stuff through some sort of site or agency that isn't blatantly on the right, but can't find anything for now. I'm going to believe we aren't getting the full story for now, though some of this stuff has to be true as it doesn't suprise me as much as the other stuff did. And for that, I simply have to say: Eh... The phrase "Baghdad By The Bay" didn't exactly come out of nowhere, you know?
