How outrageous that you would even presume that. Well, that's comforting.

The Christmas SmackDown from Iraq...
Jobber of the Week replied to BifEverchad's topic in The WWE Folder
Oh, pfft. What does crowd have to do with the match quality? Judging by crowd reaction, Hogan/Rock was the best match of all time. -
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?t...storyID=3996701 If this doesn't warrant a congressional investigation, than what in the world DOES? We're giving them MORE MONEY while finding out whether they've overcharged our troops for millions! Are you guys ready to concede that these guys aren't worthy of giving them our full and complete trust yet or not?

Hm, Raw appearantly got deleted after I told a family member that it's "a bunch of old matches." No can do. -
Soldier writes letter to Michael Moore
Jobber of the Week replied to Skywarp!'s topic in Current Events
If it's fake, it'll be a huge blow to Moore and his credibility with the general public when exposed. Do you really think he'd take that chance? -
Kay then. Here's the backup for that claim: Well, damn, they put images of animals on their greeting card. That totally fooled me into thinking it was a shelter!
-
Cherry picking? That is, quotes aside, how the article fucking starts. The opening paragraph states that they try to lure you into believing they operate animal shelters. Now, either they actually decided to intentionally confuse you like that from day one with bad intentions, or else the author is simply building a case on opinion to show fault. "Ah-HA! They gave themselves a vague name that makes you think they run an animal shelter! Ah-HA! This is how they get you to give money!"
-
Sure enough, and a drug addiction place as well, but so far all the Overviews I've read seem to be set out to paint each and every one of them in a bad light. For instance: Really? I mean, considering they've had that name from the start and everything.

Yeah, but you missed my point, which is all these family value and other socially conservative groups. I only scratched the surface, but everything I saw when I visited the site was scrutinizing groups with progressive agendas
-
Here's my top 5: 1. XIX. I was at the show, so I have to put it up top. 2. Summerslam 3. Survivor Series 4. Royal Rumble (HHH vs Steiner drags it down from 3 to here) 5. Vengeance (The two McMahon matches drag it from 2 to here) Worst PPV was Unforgiven, which I actually think might be the worst WWE/F PPV in history. JR actually sounded every bit as bored as he did at Starrcade 89. Even the Jericho match was a stinker.

Did anyone manage to find a conservative group on that site? Anyone?

Benoit/Malenko failed to set your world on fire, RRR? -
GooooodddDDAMNIT! I read the subject line as Goldberg instead of Goldust and felt a little spark in my heart and a tear form in my eye. For another day, I guess.

Well, that's a bigger crowd than Raw in some cities. -

PETA has previously given money to the ELF group that set a bunch of car dealerships on fire and other such crap. They also do campaigns that are offensive and an injustice to free speech, such as comparing chicken coops to nazi camps. Comparitively, the ASPCA does more to actually assist animals and less crazy publicity stunts, but almost nobody can remember them outside of Bob Barker reminding people to spay and neuter their pets. PETA is more commonly remembered by the average American but it's done by making everyone associated with PETA look like a slobbering neanderthal.
-
Looking at the web page for that campaign, it seems to be a lot less controversial and nasty than their recent stuff. Mostly just being the voice of a radio spot.
-
If you ever looked at Maher's message boards, you'd find a lot of PETA-bashing and flaming, actually.
-
I'm a Rudy mark, so I was kind of mixed about that whole thing. At the time it was announced, I was reading a neoconservative board and was about ready to want to take some Asprin because of the whining that GW didn't get the award a second time. Even though this was before the war had even begun. I guess an American tragedy alone was reason enough to glorify the guy into the halls of fame for them or something.

I woudln't call what happened to Kamui "patriotic duty." -
Well, when they word it like that it makes it sound like some vague sort of jealousy that's just as nationalistic as the Way-Too-Patriotic people, but I'm sure the message in there is rooted in truth. I wouldn't mind seeing the 1990s-current dominant "culture" of the US get knocked down a peg. Eventually it will fall and something else will rise. And hopefully it will involve less McDonald's restaurants... And I *REALLY* hope it doesn't involve religious fundamentalism.
