I've watched Deadman Taker have great matches with the likes of Shawn and Bret and yes, he did sell. Not immediately, in fact, he usually no sells the babyface's opening offense and takes control. But once the comeback is made, he starts going with the flow and selling. Anyway, I think Taker is supposed to be "dead but not so dead that the audience really believes he's dead." Nobody is going to believe the guy who comes back is really dead, so it's more like a kayfabe "wink wink nudge nudge you all know what's coming" death.

Cena vs Lesnar put the crowd asleep last time. Perhaps Cena vs Lesnar vs Benoit?

Parody threads are the new "Ban Agnes."

The fruity kid had me worried, but it does appear this potentially could be good. I shall sit and hope it starts a revolution of good FFs where sappy Titanic-esque love stories were ruining the show. I don't know what's sillier in this thread, Sakura talking about how much she likes the angst when there's far better angst fiction out there than what Square has done, or Duo's lessons of "anime can teach you everything you need to know about Japan."

Colonel to be court martialed for...

Because he's not supposed to do that? -
Why black people? Didn't you know? No white people live in America's inner city slums. No white people at all. (obvious sarcasm)

Ah, AngleSault. Whitest man alive. No really, I don't know what it means either. My guess is it means "I came through, beat your ass, and left you wondering what hit you."

NPR Ombudsman still getting flak from OReilly bit

I was going to say "can't argue with the truth" but technically it's an opinion. <- (Still can't believe some people actually LIKE Bush Jr, though) -
Mass. court turns over gay marriage ban

How in the blue heavens did this thread go from the role of courts in the government to a bitchfest over spending? -

Well, at first I was going to sarcastically respond "Well, I'm just all in tears over that Iraqi's civil rights." but then this guy basically has stated that he's proud of what he did, so he gets what he deserves. However, chances are it'll be a slap on the wrist and a wish that it all blows over. -

NPR Ombudsman still getting flak from OReilly bit

Well, blatant NPR bias has reared it's ugly head again. ---- TERRY GROSS: One of the more controversial things in the rap world is the use of the word "bitch" all the time. TRIUMPH THE INSULT COMIC DOG: Here we go again! GROSS: Exactly, now it's a word you use a lot in the dog world. TRIUMPH: It's a word that, look, it's a word that everyone uses in the dog world. It's a bitch. A girl is a bitch. Now should a dog be offended to be called a woman? I don't think any dog would be offended. Not even Benji. That's right, you heard me, Benji's gay. It's time people knew that. GROSS: Do you feel that you have been sexist or condescending in your treatment of female dogs? TRIUMPH: Holy christ! Listen to this! Let me ask you something: I feel like I'm being bombarded here. I know what's happening here. I know what's happening here. Did you ask the same questions to Kermit The Frog? Did you? GROSS: Kermit The Frog didn't do our show. He didn't do our show. TRIUMPH: Allright well, okay, well how about the time Beethoven did your show. Did you challenge him the way you're challenging me? GROSS: It was a different kind of interview. TRIUMPH: It was a different kind of-- Okay! Yeah, I can get what's going on here. GROSS: Beethoven's funny, no it's different. TRIUMPH: Oh, is that right? It's satire what Beethoven does. Yes, I'm just... You know, I can't believe the government is paying for this interview. That's what I can't believe. You know? My money, which could be going to Pekanese hookers, are instead going to this public radio that's obviously more slanted than my *bleep* after I've *bleep* a Saint Bernard. What are we talking about? GROSS: Triumph, I don't think you're being fair and I think if you gave public radio a chance you wouldn't feel that way. Because I think public radio has always been fair to the dog world. TRIUMPH: I'm trying to give it a chance but you keep bombarding me. You keep bombarding me. I'm evaluating this interview very closely, is what I'm doing. This is just ten minutes of defamation. Seventy minutes in dog years. GROSS: *laughs* TRIUMPH: You think it's fair, Terry? You need to get into another business! That's right, good. This is all going to be fodder for Harpers magazine, for Dog Fancy magazine, which I know is a liberally... There's liberal publishers of Dog Fancy, I mean that thing is like gay porn anyway. GROSS: Well, Triumph I don't think you're being fair and I'm going to change the subject. TRIUMPH: Good. I'm not going to walk out of this interview. I'm not going to do that. I'm better than that. But I'm going to take a poop right now. I'm going to poop in this studio right now. TERRY: I don't think that's fair. I think you should control yourself. TRIUMPH: Well, it's already happening. I ate a burrito before the interview. I came prepared for this. Link to episode. The arguement begins at approximately 12:30. -
The British did offer their manpower, and they do their job well if you consider that British heads of state don't get killed that often. But the White House insists on using it's own people here.

I was looking up gatling gun on Google News but finally found it's called a "minigun" ironically enough. http://politics.guardian.co.uk/foreignaffa...1086411,00.html Home Secretary David Blunkett has refused to grant diplomatic immunity to armed American special agents and snipers travelling to Britain as part of President Bush's entourage this week. In the case of the accidental shooting of a protester, the Americans in Bush's protection squad will face justice in a British court as would any other visitor, the Home Office has confirmed. The issue of immunity is one of a series of extraordinary US demands turned down by Ministers and Downing Street during preparations for the Bush visit. These included the closure of the Tube network, the use of US air force planes and helicopters and the shipping in of battlefield weaponry to use against rioters. (...) The White House initially demanded the closure of all Tube lines under parts of London to be visited during the trip. But British officials dismissed the idea that a suicide bomber could kill the President by blowing up a Tube train. Ministers are also believed to have dismissed suggestions that a 'sterile zone' around the President should be policed entirely by American special agents and military. Demands for the US air force to patrol above London with fighter aircraft and Black Hawk helicopters have also been turned down. The President's protection force will be armed - as Tony Blair's is when he travels abroad - and around 250 secret service agents will fly in with Bush, but operational control will remain with the Metropolitan Police. The Americans had also wanted to travel with a piece of military hardware called a 'mini-gun', which usually forms part of the mobile armoury in the presidential cavalcade. It is fired from a tank and can kill dozens of people. One manufacturer's description reads: 'Due to the small calibre of the round, the mini-gun can be used practically anywhere. This is especially helpful during peacekeeping deployments.' Peacekeeping deployments? Sure, it'll rain a hail of peace into any situation!

That one just blows me away though. You're more familiar with this kind of thing than I am. Is it normal for the Secret Service to request everything they possibly can and then mark off the more extreme measures when they get rejected? Half of me believes this is their job and this usual protocol is being blown out of proportion by the LIBERAL TABLOID MEDIA OF DEATH, and my other half thinks they actually see hostility being high enough that a situation could pop up where they suddently need a chaingun.

When you go to delete a file from computer......
Jobber of the Week replied to NoCalMike's topic in Technology
Reboot and try to delete it If that doesn't work, reboot into safe mode and try to delete it. If that doesn't work then reboot into regular and get a program that can really decimate some data. My favorite free spyware catcher, SpyBot, has a file shredder built into it -
Huge ammounts of police swarming "Neverland"...
Jobber of the Week replied to Downhome's topic in Current Events
Eh, sorry. I wound up seeing Jaxl and Downhome as the same person as the pointless posts ("Two words: He's fucked") and the suicide chatter started filling up a fair amount of the conversation. I overreacted in lashing out. Sorry. Watched The All-Spin Zone last night because child molestation is the kind of topic that can get that whore's blood boiling and voice rising. He took the same position I figured he would, talking like Jackson was guilty while constantly throwing little "if these are true" statements in there to try and sound like he's giving him a fair shake. The best part was when he exploded at an Us Magazine guy for treating Jackson like *gasp* a celebrity! -
It was well reported in the UK press that the UK government turned down a lot of requests from the Secret Service, ranging from giving Secret Service immunity in the case of an "accidental" shooting of a protester (note that even without this immunity, they were still allowed to shoot someone who was a clear and present threat to the President), shutting down the underground train system, and even reinforcing Buckingham Palace with blast windows and the like. They also requested the presence of a US-manned gatling gun in the motorcade. All denied. Either the Secret Service is supposed to ask for everything and the kitchen sink and the British were right in denying the more crazy requests, or he thinks he's so hated over there that people will destroy B.Palace to get to him, in which case maybe it's better to simply stay here. Still, I just think of Tony Blair driving through Times Square with a gatling gun. I'm sure quite a few people here would have taken issue with that.

It's nice to see the same two posters who keep coming in and filling up the thread with useless three word posts. Sure, UYI is being a Jackson apologist, but we have another thread for post whoring. I don't believe the story above, not so much because it comes from Fox News but more because... I mean, wine? Seriously, come on now. There's how many kids going there a year? And how often does this kind of thing make the news? Exactly. Yeah, I probably wouldn't let my kid around the guy if I had one, but that's more because of the shrouds and the baby-dangling and the other signs of generally being inept (what do you mean I lost my kids in the zoo mob?) or not paying attention to anything going on around him. Well, that and my fictional kid would hate me when I can't buy him a whole toy store for his birthday. But I really doubt he's beating them up or sucking them off behind the scenes or anything. And for those going on about the guy's popularity wane, have you seen his international appeal? I'm suprised he hasn't started selling off pieces of the Ranch and moved to Europe or something by now. -

I was going to rent this until I saw the review at IGN. The review was the usual slobbering, but what the hell happened to the crystal song?

I'm pretty sure it's independant. I don't like wireless DSL though (your local station the wireless doohickey talks to can go down and your ISP might not get it restored for days) and unless you REALLY need the full bandwith going to each PC, it'd be cheaper to share one like across both PCs.

Wesley Clark vs Fox News Channel Anchorguy
Jobber of the Week replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Current Events
I don't think what he said was exactly the same as "let's go ask Newsweek where Osama is" but hey, it's up to your interpretation. Yes, Clark does shoot himself in the foot a lot, but I thought it was fun that he exposed the usual Fox game. This reminds me of the guy who asked the 18 year old trying to draft Hillary in a rather slow and deliberate voice (the kind that you use to talk to young infants) "Do you know that every time Hillary has been asked if she'll run that she's said no?" As though the kid was going to say "No, I didn't" and give up his whole thing right there.
