The one and only California recall thread
Jobber of the Week replied to Dangerous A's topic in Current Events
So? He was under no obligation to NOT run again. None whatsoever. The stupid thing is that the Republicans were so scared about this that they implemented the 2 term rule into law. Every President we've had since then that we like so much we'd probably keep them around for more than 2 terms has been Republican. -
OReilly: Media shouldn't support candidates

My Dad's an old-school Republican but even he was laughing at an interview on Fox where somewone (Cavuto?) effectively went on the attack against a guest. I've also heard Rita Cosby use a straw man on Jeneane Garafalo, asking her whether we conduct wars all over the middle east or "let them commit another 9/11." Garafalo replied "What we SHOULD do is focus on homela..." and only got that far before Cosby cut her off and mumbled "Okay, so we let another 9/11 happen." Yes, your post is technically accurate since Fox does have people from all over the spectrum. Fox's main problem is that the JOURNALISTS are actually louder and more aggressive than the talking heads they have on as guests. -

Okay, this is stupid. CNN is saying Arnold wins, but their page shows the recall losing with only 47% support. Good thing there isn't any time zones involved, or we'd have a Florida. I was SO going to vote No on the recall until Davis gave illegals licenses. I wound up voting rather conservative, although I *CRINGE* at the idea of Arnold in office fiscally because he seems to be a flaming idiot, let's hope he listens to all these money guys he hired. 54 makes me cringe even harder, but I'm sure it'll lose anyway. Me: Recall Yes, Arnold, 53 No, 54 No Dad: Recall Yes, Arnold, 53 No, 54 Yes Mom: Recall No, Bustamante, 53 No, 54 Yes I made a mark in the ® box. Someone give me a drink or something. -
Yeah, but I'd STILL go to a televised SD than a Raw house show.

Running for office while already in office
Jobber of the Week replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
Voted no. I don't really know why, but just no. 'Sides, if it weren't for all the help of the governors and senators running for Prez, candidates like Al Sharpton would have more support. Yikes. -

Well, Carville hosts Crossfire, they've had Clark and Moore on now and then, and I've seen Dean on an episode of Inside Politics once. Al Franken and Jeneane Garafalo were the left stand-ins for a week each on Crossfire, and Tucker Carlson has had his problems with Fox as of late. But that's about all I can think of. Maybe he's talking about the recall somehow, and I admit I haven't seen CNN that much recently. -
AHAHAHAHA.... AAAHAHHAHAHAHA... You need the episode of "Penn & Teller's Bullshit!" (a myth-busting show) where they debunk the creationists. It's grand and maybe it'll do you some good.

Yeah I knew that was going to happen, and that's what I'm talking about. Has Fox taken too much flak? Sure. But for a guy on FOX NEWS CHANNEL arguing about media supporting politicians, when Fox's own lack of integrity started when Bush decided to run for office, is astounding. It's like he ought to finish it up with "Oh, and good night." But hey, I guess pointing this out is worthless now, since all criticism of Fox, even when obviously valid, is appearantly null and easily swept away with a sarcastic comment. -
Did you greet yourself by shouting, "NOW LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING MEAN GENE..."? At least, that's how I think all the Hogan promos began.

Donahue is great for his ability to overdramatic: "Mr. (name), our country is in such turmoil today, the baby is cold and there's no blanket and Mom Is On The Phone And NOBODY IS PAYING ATTENTION AND THE TV IS BROKEN AND THE MILK IS SOUR AND DADDY HAS BEEN DRINKING AND I ASK YOU, MR. (NAME), HOW DO WE FIX THIS?!?!"

I wouldn't go to ANY house show unless it was free or I was a ref. =b If it ain't televised, I ain't payin'.

Even the experts are saying that social issues have meant a LOT more in this race than they expected, since everybody kind of realized this debt doesn't go away overnight. Evidence plz? http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...41008&hl=fundie He's said he'd repeal giving licenses to illegal immigrants, he's said he's against Prop 54, is in favor of all current gun control laws, is pro-choice and favors gay unions but opposes calling it marriage. Compare this to McClintock, the usual hardline guy running on behalf of the Cali GOP backers, the fundies and so on like Lou "I call everyone I don't like a RINO" Sheldon. He's against giving gays any kind of government recognition, in favor of Prop 54, wants to repeal gun control laws and wants to outlaw all abortion. This is the same kind of message that Bill Simon, Darrel Issa, and others who are insiders in the state GOP insist on sending, and it never wins a race. -
MSNBC really ran out of confidence in the guy which is why there was practically no fanfare. That and the Donahue thing bit them in the ass. I didn't see it, I'll try to some other time.

By the way, the MAIN EVENT JANITOR CLOSET has returned. I guess they ran out of room after using so much for that stupid limo stunt.
