He said that the booking of the PPV weeks away ruined the show he was watching right now:

Plenty of tech support centers and other calling-related jobs have moved to India and other countries. Nothing is stopping telemarketers either really. But if we had fair wage systems set up for countries we do business with none of this would be happening and people could work at call centers where customers call them and not the other way around. This is like when San Francisco voted over outlawing panhandling. The homeless, although they don't have much posessions of their own, shouldn't be allowed to just become the newest part of MY business and harass MY customers for their money. Similarly, do I want someone calling my home office line to harass me with their offers. Sure, all you have to do is walk past the homeless bums, but their peeing on the sidewalk isn't pretty and hell, it's my property they're camped out in front of. It doesn't make sense that I don't have the right to have them removed and blacklisted from visiting my establishment. WHICH IS, by the way, something that telemarketers do have individually. All this does is instead of blacklisting one homeless at a time, I can simply stick a "NO PANHANDLING" sign in my window and walk away. Do Not Call lists are perfectly legal, as they've been legally required for years. What's so unconstitutional about a blanket one? Think about it man. TheMikeSC, Marney, and JotW, three posters who barb one another as being misguided/wrong/stupid/etc, are banding together in unison to tell you what you're saying is dumb.

Oh, that's nice. Right after we've been getting along more often than not. Are you really Ann Coulter, because you have a habit of throwing nasty remarks like this at anyone who doesn't believe in some one true path when it comes to this administration and foreign policy. So at the same time you're trying to tell me that a terrorist act may not always be committed by who you think did it but criticising those who don't see a bin Laden connection. I don't know any of those people and firmly think bin Laden did it, but it's like you're black on one sentence and white on the next. I do want to save lives. In particular preventing the lives of troops (voluntary or not) from being needlessly thrown away. So you're telling me that nuclear deterrence is not an option? It's always been the final option, it's not one I approve of under most circumstances but in times of world crisis it should always be considered. And it's certainly, CERTAINLY a lot better than making itty bitty Vietnams everywhere you go, from Afghanistan to Iraq to Iran to Syria to North Korea and beyond. Who knows what happens then. Maybe everyone gets tired of this and by that time we've spread ourselves too thin. Then again, maybe you'll get international support with Iran since the UN discoveries if you strike while the iron is hot. I hope so. I don't know, maybe I'm just pissed off about how you guys choose to run off into the desert, saying you're 100% positive this is the right thing to do and it's all planned out, and then like clockwork you come back and say it's going to cost more or take longer than expected. Or maybe I'm just shocked, SHOCKED that this latest one hasn't turned up anything of what we're searching for. I'll be honest when I say that if even some sketchy details came in regarding WMD, I'd be inclined to believe them as the window for any possibly evidence planting has long passed. And yes, I know you played your cards close to your vest last time we talked about this issue, which I take as a hint that I should wait and see, but this interim CIA report doesn't instill confidence. Go ahead and use that one event to justify all the war you want, but it was a few men with box cutters for weapons. With all the glorifying that's been going on, few have realized that smarter security protocols at airports are doing at least 50% of as good a job as preventing another 9/11 than bombing every square inch of Afghanistan to hell. Which isn't to say I didn't support the efforts in Afghanistan, or that airport seucrity doesn't have holes (hardly, as the media keeps sneaking in stuff they shouldn't just to see if they can, and every few months a "We put weapons/explosive/etc through an airport checkpoint and nothing happened" report appears.) I haven't been able to get any sleep in 24 hours so I'm going to try. I know I'm going to regret opening this can of worms by the time I get back to the computer in 8-10 hours, but oh well. So it goes.

I don't understand. In this article, you're supposed to grade Smackdown. A promo is a promo. It could be a good promo, or a bad promo. Chances are with the McMahons taking up that much of the mic time it wasn't any kind of awesome promo, but that's besides the point. Just because you don't like the booking of a show that's not what your reviewing doesn't really seem like proper justification to shit on this show. Granted, it may indeed have been a very crappy program (I missed it, I have to struggle to care about wrestling around SurSer time) but you yourself say it's all about the final segment, and what it means in regards to the PPV.

Well, I could understand it going out in the newsletters and popping up on places like 411, Meltzer, etc. You gotta remember that those of us who don't live in NY have money that is just as green as yours.

Well, this was no small fiasco. This was the kind of mind-bendingly stupid brouhaha that only the WWE can provide.

I think it's the size of the building. XIX had tickets on the presale going on into the afternoon. I kept checking back in to see what the best ticket at the time was all day. Although being smarks we kind of generally look at this with a "boy, they're going to overhype and underdeliver on this one, huh?" attitude, this is probably enough of a milestone to interest those who were wrestling fans from the Rock N Wrestling days to the HHH Goes Over Everybody days. At least, it wouldn't shock me if that were so. And it's not exactly like the arena has a hard time filling up even on crap shows.

Me thinks the best time for scalping is in January. The hype will be high but the card will only be rumored. Then again, Angle/Lesnar was planned out on TV as early as December... I'm just going with the automatic notion that I'm selling these unless I can pull together the money for a JetBlue flight. Even then, I'm going to be sleeping on the plane and just visiting the city long enough to see Mania and go back to the airport and take another redeye flight if possible. I wonder how far JFK is from where I need to go?

I have to give Ram credit for getting the colors of Long's head to match the unusual colors of the bill. Aside from the bright green bits that bill is much more black and white and so the Long scene was simply made grayscale and clipped. Meh.

By the way, I paid $60 each last WM for two seats which wound up being in the very first row of the lower bowl. Any closer would be on the floor. Now I paid more to sit in the nosebleeds. Aye carumba. I like how they forgot to include a seating chart and everything. I'm going by the "concert" map.

Heenan has a heart attack over Luger that would make Jim "BAH GAWD WHATTA HOSS" Ross insane with jealousy: "LOOK AT IT LOOK AT IT LOOKIT OH OH LOOK AT IT OH MY GOD MOST MUSCULAR LOOK AT THAT OH" *Lex does mantitty dance thing* "LOOK LOOK LOOK!!!!" I think the guy wasn't sober or something that day.

Also, DK's Dinky Kong would need ritalin because he keeps doing the Kong dance like crazy. And the NashBaby takes one mighty step into the sandbox before tripping and is quickly removed after a bloody nose.

Well, I enjoyed that live performance... because my friend and I had made "Fred Durst Sucks" and "News Flash: Durst Can't Rap" signs for the occasion. I know I'm late to reply, but the "FRED CAN KISS MY CHOCOLATE STARFISH" hanging from the cheap seats was really gold.

He was in the Boring Debate today (and indeed, it was VERY boring) but had too much "I haven't decided on this stuff yet call back later." The Iraq flipflop has me still most interested in Dean until Clark can iron out his policy.

That's nice, but we can't afford nor manage rebuilding the whole Middle East and exporting democracy to countries over a thousand years old. If Bush wants to crush terrorism under a military boot rather than do this diplomatically, then do it Cold War style. Get together a bunch of nuclear warheads on missiles we can fire at anywhere in the world. Speak loudly with a nervous tick in your eye and shout, "DON'T ATTACK ME!" Terrorism on US soil will be a thing of the past when everyone is afraid that the next hit will be the one that sets him off. This is horrible from the perspective of diplomacy and foreign relations, and voters will either love you or hate you, but it'll get the job done. Shit, it worked for Reagan.

This is why I wish Foley would come back. Just the one night he came back and gave his first promo and HHH interrupted as per the usual he had a fire going that was missing in each and every one of the "blah blah I'm better than you blah blah" promos. Maybe he's just pissed that Mick has nothing more to prove or something.

If McClintock had not attacked Arnold so mercilessly on talk radio, I might feel sorry about him. Although yes, that proves my point about Hannity.

Reverend Sheldon of the Family Values Council or whatever has already dubbed Arnold with his homespun RINO (Republican In Name Only) catchphrase, and his other hardline conservative groups are running ads where Arnold's face morphs into Davis'. This is about more than supporting one guy who can win (although I do believe Hannity is a bit of an ass on this subject because he's generally Pro-Life and such, which is why I mentioned Carlson as he at least sticks to his guns), this is about the entire direction of the state GOP. Every Republican convention from last year back in history has been a fight. Sheldon labeled Riordan a RINO if I remember right and the result was that idiot Bill Simon won because he got the backing of those groups for being a harder social Conservative. He failed miserably, going as far as outright lying about having proof of Davis breaking the law at one point. Some high in the GOP think that a softer social message could win more votes from swing voters and right-leaning Democrats, but these organizations and the fundies (yep, I said it) that are usually at the head of them won't give the nod to a pro-choice, pro gay union candidate to find out. If Arnold wins, it could give those who want to soften the tone of the party the ammunition they need to take control of the party and maybe the races will be a little more exciting than Democrat vs Unelectable Republican.

EDIT: Forget it. I don't want to argue about that anymore. Okay Mike, so here's part 2 of my question: If they couldn't record this info and thus wouldn't know which schools are filled with minorities, how could they imbalance it against them. My best guess is by location (such as the inner city, as you suggested) but there's no ban against labeling schools that way either. It seems like this accomplishes a great big deal of nothing in these regards. I could see an arguement about medical research, but the state doesn't run hospitals either.
