Bruins win 4-1. Last 17 games: 14-2-1. Outscoring teams 62-32. Just, wow. They finally have a capable front office, coaching staff and players. Love it.

Bruins being outshot 20-12 through two. They lead 3-1. First goal was a great move by Ryder to split two Red Wings and make a fantastic pass to Wheeler. The second was a puck possession goal with Kessel skating circles around the Wings D and seemingly missing on a shot from the point that fluttered by Conklin. Third goal was Bergeron stealing the puck in the corner and feeding Kobasew in the slot with space. That's a goal just about every time. They look for real. I hope they can keep this up.

Creat a folder for all the drafts

That's what this board was founded on. We're going to need a name for the draft folder. I suggest: "Drift-draft" with a subtitle of "Come in from the draft and draft up a draft."

If anything, the hitting and grinding will be there more than the offense. Someone is going to slow down that Lucic-Savard-Kessel line. Julien did a great thing by putting Kobasew with Bergeron on the third line, but he needs to kick Axelsson off that line. He's like a black hole of offense. Use him on the PK and trot out a line of Axelsson-Yelle-Thornton as a fourth line. Moving forward: Lucic-Savard-Kessel Ryder-Krejci-Wheeler Kobasew-Bergeron-Nokelainen Axelsson-Yelle-Thornton should give them more balance and get Bergeron going. Julien was smart to pull Axelsson off point on the second unit powerplay with the emergence of Hunwick, but Axelsson is killing Bergeron. The defense has been remarkable. The goaltending...I worry about Manny. I keep waiting for him to put up the bad game, but even his bad games aren't terrible. The game against the Sabres where he got booed by idiots, the shots were close to impossible to stop. Tim Thomas...we all keep saying that he'll fall back to earth, but...he seems to just keep getting better. I think it's a case of:

Bruins roll the Islanders, 7-2. Fernandez looked very sharp for most of the game. Big test tomorry. Red Wings v. Broons. Broons are 13-2-1 in their last 16 games. Outscoring opponents 58-31. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

What was the best team ever?

This best team ever tournament will no doubt give birth to a "Best Team Ever Draft".

What was the best team ever?

No, definitely not. That'd be like saying '85 Villanova or '83 NC State were among the greatest teams ever. Greatest stories, yes, but not greatest teams. And 3 members of the Miracle on Ice team is still two more than I can name. Jim Craig? Mike Eruzione? Ken Morrow? Neal Broten? Mike Ramsey?

    Discuss Your Thanksgiving Meal

We had three of them, since there are three families to visit. We went to my mom's house first around 1130a, where we ate probably the most. Turkey breast, pear sausage and cornbread stuffing, squash, gratined potatoes, rolls, etc. Plus a pumpkin cheesecake my mom made and an apple cobbler I made. Then on to the girlfriend's mom's side of the family. A whole turkey, stuffing, etc. They essentially browbeat me into "trying" rutabegas, which I'd eaten at every thanksgiving when I was a kid because my grandmother would make me. I hate them. But these people swore up and down that I'd LOVE them, etc.etc. I didn't. They're bland and taste like wood. Always have, always will. I made them an apple pie, but we left shortly after eating, as they were getting a little too into the Cowboys game. Her father's side of the family was next. We ate a bit more, her dad makes a wonderful apple and sausage stuffing. Plus there's ham and more turkey and what they call "green stuff" and "pink stuff". "Green stuff" is cool whip, jello, marashino cherries and pineapple chunks. "Pink stuff" is cool whip, jello and mandarin oranges. We sat around bullshitting for a few hours and watched some dvd's. I made an apple and berry cobbler that was well received. We got a fucking ton of leftovers from them and were home at around 1115 last night. I was up until around 4 this morning with indigestion.

Sports video, audio, and pictures I like

Yes, that was Fenway. Remy and Orsillo spent the rest of the half inning playing CSI: Fenway trying to figure out who threw it. Remy even busted out the smoker's wheeze-laugh as they ran it about 150 times.

    ANOTHER FIGHT INSIDE~!

This. As long as you don't overload on cloves, meat pies are fantastic. My grandmother used to make them for sunday lunches.

From what I remember, he was hanging with some Tampa tramp who asked him to hold her purse while she used the can. Then she claimed that she didn't give him her purse, he stole it. No charges were ever filed though.

What am I missing there? I've heard a few people say that now. He and Kostopolous got hammered in Tampa and were initially busted for stealing purses from girls. It ended up being false, but not before some fun photoshops surfaced...

Tough week for O'Byrne. Kessel rocked his world on the Bruins' first goal on saturday. Then he puts one in his own net the other night. And now tonight, Franzen turns him inside out. Maybe he should go out and steal a purse to make himself feel better.

Uninspired effort from the Broons. They might be starting to believe their own hype. They did last year after going on a 5-0-1 streak and then got their doors blown off in, like, four straight games. Islanders v. Bruins on BLACK friday, the Broons unveil their excellent new thirds.

    The 2008 MLB Offseason Thread

I think they'd match up better if it were a long division series. But with a fraction of the games, the common denominator has always been a loss for them. No matter the variable, they always find a way to subtract any advantage they might have.

The Angles hope to sine Sabathia and cosine Mark Teixeira. That team would go on a tangent and probably win the division handily.

I thought that was acute thing to do, personally. It may have been just a reflex, but it was certainly the right move. Straight up. It was the right move to any degree.

    List Things That Bother You

People who scrape their teeth with forks or spoons while eating. My girlfriend's dad does this when we have him over for dinner. Sometimes it's a slight noise that sounds almost accidental. Other times it sounds like he's biting down on the fucking fork. It's awful and completely ruins my dining experience. I'm a quiet eater and I can ignore people chewing loudly, chewing with their mouth open or something like that. I can look away from that and study the wall or some picture or something. But the NOISE of fork or spoon on teeth bothers me to no end.

    True Blood

The better half explained a lot of what's coming up since she read all of the books. Shit gets fucking complicated. Lots of people are different. I liked it, but I also guessed who it was a few episodes ago. They did rush it, which I wasn't a fan of, and they reeeeeeally dumbed it down. All in all, I'm not going to complain. I saw Anna Paquin's boobies so the show is a success.

Did you watch the game? He was screened big time on the first goal, the second goal was deflected twice and then he shut shit down after that, including three of Montreal's best one-on-one players in the shootout. Coming into tonight he had a 1.8/.944 in the majority of the team's starts this year. Not bad for a guy not even on the all-star ballot. Maybe Laraque wants to fight him next.

Goooood win for the Brooooons. 12-1-1 last 14. 7 point division lead. I'm glad Lucic didn't stoop to Laraque's level and take himself out of the game. He scored the first goal and had nine hits. Let Laraque follow him around and try to get an appointment for a future fight. The more Laraque played, the less time actual talented players saw. WTG Carbonneau.

My bounty on either of the Kostitsyn sisters is now up to 1,000 (ONE THOUSAND) dollars. I've never seen players so quick to drop at the slightest amount of contact. Savard made a feather touch on one of the ladies' gloves and she dropped like she'd been shot. $1,000. I'm buying a house, guys. I don't have that kind of money, but I will send it.
