Keep Toivonen at the minor league level for another season and sign a veteran backup.

And the news broke down here this morning that the Seminole Indians in Oklahoma, who apparently had the big problem with FSU using the name (according the NCAA) have said that they have no issue with Seminoles being used by FSU. I'd love for it to come out that the NCAA went with this without consulting the Oklahoma Seminoles.

Saw a good shot from Adult Swim before Robot Chicken tonight. "We would have been honored to be insulted by The 'Poon...in 1975." Something along those lines. I played that whole thing through and it came across as bitter for the simple fact that NL isn't funny anymore and people actually enjoy Adult Swim. Oh well.

Of the Pens, Oil, Jackets, Isles and Blackhawks: Pens were the worst team in the NHL for most of the last five seasons or so. So, they had most of their players playing for peanuts for 2-3 year contracts that made them UFAs this offseason, thus clearing their minimal salaries off the books. Since they only really had M-A Fleury and Mario under contracts that paid any money, it's no wonder that they're able to offer good contracts. The Oil were in the same boat; Small market team with little to woo free agents other than a rich history in hockey. Had to rely on their farm system to produce stars that priced themselves out of town. They held on to a few good players and saved by getting excellent players for practically nothing. The Jackets were an expansion team a few years ago. They had maybe four above-average players on their team in the last season (Nash, Zherdev, Denis, and if you want to stretch Cassels). But now, they find themselves in the same boat as the other smaller market teams; Big market clubs have to cut players to get under the cap. Therefore, Adam Foote can sign in Columbus. The Isles are a poor example, as they're still under Yashin's atrocious contract. They lost Aucoin, they could lose Hamrlik to UFA, Jonsson has indicated that he won't be coming back to play in the NHL, and all they've really done is trade away Mike Peca and sign Miro Satan. The Blackhawks are a perfect example of the CBA coming into effect. Their owner sucks, refused to spend money on his team because he didn't see anyone coming out to support players with inflated salaries. Now, he's signed two above-average defensemen (Aucoin and Jaro Spacek) one average veteran player (Lapointe) and a Stanley Cup winning goaltender (Khabibulin). All because now, salaries are down and he actually has a chance to build a winner.

I agree with VX. I have a Nokia for work and it's quite possibly the worst phone ever invented. It shuts itself off whenever it feels like, cuts my phone calls out, drains battery in a matter of a few hours, and freezes most of the time after getting a text message. Piece of crap. Stay away from Nokia.

Back-up goalies are outstanding at times, since they only play rarely. Give Grahame #1 minutes and he'll disappoint by seemingly forgetting what he's in net to do. That's why I said he's a back-up at best.
