Huselius is soft. All a team has to do is catch him with a solid hit and he's practically glued to the boards for the rest of the game. They were trying to trade him before the deadline in the last season that they played, but couldn't get anything worthwhile for him. He'd be a good fit for the Canadiens though.

I don't know if anyone will agree with me, but CKY is pretty good. Their new CD was worth the 5.99$ that I paid for it. Good songs: - Suddenly Tragic - Plastic Plan - Human Drive in Hi-Fi - Shock and Terror - Don't Hold Your Breath

    How do you feel

They have a TV contract, but it's regional. Each market airs their own games, there's just no national tv deal. It's not a good tv deal, but it's a tv deal for now. I think they'll get someone to pick up the playoffs.

Florida needed the offense. Jokinen is good, but outside of Horton (until he got hurt), he really didn't have any help last year. Plus, Anthony Stewart should be seeing time with the Panthers this season and they have hopes that he'll become the next Gary Roberts-esque power forward, so to have Roberts tutor him would go a long way.

I like the Isbister trade. I am shocked at the Panthers signing two pretty good/decent players. What doesn't shock me is I didn't know this until I got home and checked TSN.

Even though I still think that the thing was rigged, I'm satisfied with the Bruins pick. Now, if they'd only sign some players to actually play...

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=f...ne%20conclusion Basically, Houston even making a series out of it destroys the fact that it's even a foregone conclusion. You are entitled to your opinion, but it's a poor choice of wording it. You word it as if the Astros should have just forfeited the series to St. Louis because St. Louis was going to stomp them. As it is, St. Louis came back from a 3-2 series deficit in one of the better NLCS in the last few years. Of course, you admittedly didn't watch it (and who would want to? All those no-name players! And the fact that Boston/New York weren't involved!) so you'd have no clue as to just how close it was to being Houston v. Boston in the WS. If you HAD watched the series, you'd know that it was far from being a foregone conclusion.

    Ring Crew

Back when my friend worked in the NE area, I visited him for a week or so. I went to wrestling school with him and helped him with the ring. We woke up at 6a, drove to the school/warehouse, disassembled the ring, loaded it onto the truck ourselves and drove it to the Elks Lodge. We had the base set up by the time everyone else arrived. As far as the show, I got the opportunity to referee a few matches. Since I had previously taken basic classes with the guy who trained my friend, I got the opportunity to do a little extra as far as the matches that I reffed. I played the stupid referee and allowed myself to be distracted by a heel manager and I worked with two guys for their single match. It ended up that I somehow accidentally caused the face guy to lose, so he clotheslined me. I still have it on tape. I sold it like death. We stayed after the show, disassembled the ring, drove it back to the warehouse and dumped it in the space. By the time we got home, it was almost 3a.

I'm praying that they don't give in to temptation and trade Manny. They're trying to win a goddamn division and defend a title. Trading away your best player for a good defensive outfielder and Aubrey Huff (who has struggled this year) won't win a goddamn thing. Manny likes the playoffs, he plays well against the Yankees, and he was the MVP of the World Series last year. I'm fucking PRAYING that they at least wait until the off-season to make the trade, if they absolutely HAVE to trade him.

    Comcast Weighs Rival to ESPN

The thing that drives me nuts about FSN/FOX are the little sound effects that they play in the split seconds while they list that night's lineup. It's like: And tonight for the Marlins...<sound of beeping starts, continues while it lists the names in the batting order> And then when the inning starts, when they put up their score-tracker at the top of the screen, there's a whooshing noise and then the graphic comes up. Little things like that drive me insane.

Other than Colorado, maybe swing him out to Anaheim for the #2 pick and a role-player like, say, Jason Krog. It's hard to try and figure out a trade because they have, like, 7 guys under contract.

I still stand by my proposed trade with the Avs that I made last year: Thornton, Axelsson, prospect for Tanguay, Hinote, prospect. That way, Axelsson and Hinote are essentially a swap of players. Axelsson leaving gets him away from the players that he makes worse. Tanguay fits more into the smallish style played by Samsonov and Bergeron (who are hopefully there for the long haul).

Here's my issue with this trade: We don't know what Bertuzzi we're getting. Under some circumstances, this wouldn't be a problem since Joe likes to disappear for stretches (see: 2004 playoffs). However, trading the team captain straight up for a player that is no doubt going to be affected by the Moore incident, suspension and lawsuit is a shady trade if you ask me. I've let it be known that I'm not too warm on Joe Thornton. I don't like the fact that he has all the talent in the world, yet has never proven that he's a dominant go-to player. The last few seasons, he's latched onto Murray's coattails and allowed himself to be led instead of leading the team. His job is to lead the team, yet he fails at that. While Bertuzzi is a good player, I can't see him having any different effect in the postseason, I can't see him giving the Bruins what they NEED.

Plus, given the Cubs track-record with pitchers, you'd think that 110-115 would be more than enough, since he's already given you 7. Don't want Big Z getting to be like Kerry Wood.

    Underrated players you love

Do you mean the John Madden that's been nominated for the Selke 3 times in the last 7 years or so, winning once and finishing 2nd twice? Calling someone with that many nominations underrated is a stretch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I'm a Madden fan, but I agree here. He's considered one of the elite defensive players in the NHL. An example of an underrated defender: Scott Hannan of the Sharks.

    Underrated players you love

He's still not underrated. He's considered one of the premier players of his generation. Calling him underrated is stupid. And saying that "without injury/disease, he'd have likely destroyed Gretzky's records" isn't a very good way to make your point. Lots of players were supposed to be the next Gretzky, but they didn't pan out. It sucks that Mario lost some of his career to Hodgkins, but to say that he's better than Gretzky or Howe or Orr because he suffered from a disease that limited his playing time is just dumb. I guess we can excuse Alex Daigle for not shattering Gretzky's records because he's a lazy fuck. But, we'll still call Daigle one of the top talents in the history of the NHL, right? Ranking someone based on their potential, like your doing with Mario is wrong. Players that play up to their potential are great. Mario, for the most part, has played to his potential. He has 683 goals and 1700+ points in his career. That's not underrated, that's greatness. A player that has accumulated great point totals but doesn't get the pub that Mario gets, like Mike Gartner or Dino Ciccarelli, those guys are underrated.

I hate to say it ... but I thought the same thing, I really wouldn't mind it if the B's made Brisebois an offer. I'd rather they re-up Gonchar before going for any outsider d-men, though. Spend the money on Sergei first and formost, and then worry about picking up other team's castoffs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, they have a lot of other things to worry about... http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=131529 They offered Joe, Gonchar, Axelsson (ugh), LaPointe and Sammy contracts. Gonchar is a MUST sign. I like LaPointe, but wouldn't shed a tear to see him go. He's been disappointing to say the least. Sammy is a must sign and Axelsson can screw off. http://tsn.ca/news_story.asp?ID=131498&hubName=main The Ducks have let it be known that the #2 pick is available.

    Video Games that are boring....

I always hated hanging out with people who would only play one-player games. They'd make you watch them play the stupid game and it'd almost be like teasing me. Games like Diablo, SimCity, Doom, Quake, etc. fall into my list.
