I've fallen out of touch with the business (I haven't watched an entire NWA or WWE show in more than three years now), but Candido was a favorite among myself and my friends. IT'S APRIL For crying out loud. Stop the sob stories. The Yankees are 22 games into the season. OMG THE RED SOX ARE ONLY 11-10!! WE NEED PEDRO AND LOWE AND ORLANDO AND GABE KAPLER BACK!!! If it were, say...August and the Yanks were four games under .500, I could see it, but for right now, it's all about enjoying the game. The real rivalries and whatnot start later.

Letting Bill Guerin walk. 1999's "crease violation" (I think it was Tim Taylor who was 1/8 in the crease away from the play, letting the goal be disallowed and the Bruins losing to the effing Rangers) Personal: Two long, winless years in high school hockey.

In April of 2001, I said to a Yanks fan at my high school as we were arguing: YF: Yanks are going to the World Series...blahblahblah Me: Yeah, but they're going to lose YF: To who? Atlanta? Me: No. You know who's going to win the whole thing? Arizona. YF: [laughing uncontrollably] The last time I visited my friends in MA, I made it a point to track this kid down and laugh in his face. I also still owe him some laughter for the playoffs.

I don't know if it counts, but I had Nomar pegged for finishing his career in Boston, having led the Red Sox to a few titles. Then again, I also thought that the Red Sox rotation was set after the division title win in 1995 (Erik Hanson, Fat Hick, Aaron Sele, etc.)

The Orioles already can score runs. They need pitchers. PITCHERS!! On the Nomar thing, Cartman doesn't speak for all New Englanders (there's a shock) with his attitude towards Nomar. I was peeved at him for the way that he conducted himself last season (the contract extensionS that he turned down, being on the IR and not really working to get back to playing health, the incident at Yankee Stadium) and while I was shocked to see him go, I realize that the players brought in played a key role in the Red Sox winning the World Series for the first time in 86 years. So, if I'm supposed to be a bitter person about that STILL, when the team has forgiven him, his teammates gave him a cut of the WS money, forgive me if I don't care what he does in Chicago. Sucks that he got hurt, wish him the best of luck returning, especially in a contract year.

No way Cincy makes that deal. They are reportedly asking for two top flight pitching prospects, or one one pitching stud like Carlos Zambrano for Pena or Kearns. Baez lets the Reds take Graves out from the bullpen and either: 1- Use him in the rotation/long relief 2- Trade him 3- Dump him in the Ohio river Baez has very good stuff and is wasted on a team like Tampa, who needs offense and starters.

nl5 is the guy that I would work with and discuss sports, current events, etc. and be bestest buddies at the office, but we'd never hang out outside of work, even though everyone else thought we did.
