The Countdown to Beltran with Yankees Topic

Yeah, that'll happen... -
My issue with the armor is that he hangs over the plate and takes away the inside of the plate. If any pitcher DARES to come inside on him, they hit the armor and he takes his base. Just seems kind of unfair to me, as he can hang over the plate but doesn't have to feel the consequences of being hit.

Hope it helps.

What do you own this place or something? Good to hear from you, Dames. Go Red Sox.

Bring all the shit here so that the complainers can get back to talking about the rest of baseball. Yes, Manny had a sign that said that Jeter was golfing. But, it was a joke sign. Carry it on.

I hope the Marlins can get their pitching back on track for next season. There were times this year that it was really bad watching Beckett struggle through starts, Burnett walk a bunch while striking out a bunch, etc. Dontrell is still a bright spot though, and he's a great guy in person. Juan Pierre is a fun and exciting player, imo, but I don't crunch numbers, so I don't know what his deal is. Same with Castillo. If they can get their shit together, they could make a run at Atlanta. Could.

Bruins fans: "Hopefully it's nothing too serious, and we can have Gonchar on our blueline whenever the season starts. Go Red Sox." Bruins Ownership: "If Gonchar dies, do we still owe him all that money?"

"Hey baby, this is gonna be my year. This is gonna be our year" You make your own destination, AS.

http://members.shaw.ca/loudi72/ove_hit_on_gonchar.wmv Sergei Gonchar received a head injury during a hockey game today when Magnitogorsk Metallurg played Moscow Dynamo at home. In the offensive end Sergei Gonchar was receiving a pass from Aleksei Kaygorodov but was checked hard by Aleksander Ovechkin. Sergei Gonchar fell on the ice and lost consciousness. He immediately was taken to local hospital with heavy concussion. According to Gennady Velichkin, representative of Metallurg, Sergei regained consciousness and lost it again. FUCK

You could argue that both are responsible for the last two years worth of diasters. Four rings only takes you so far. This attitude makes me hate yanks fans more than anything. YOU WON FOUR FUCKING TITLES I'm more than happy with this one. Good. Don't root for the Red Sox next year then. You're happy with your ring and clearly don't want another. I happen to want another ring. I want a parade, God damnit. Not saying that at all. But be appreciative of what you've been given as a fan, for god's sake.

Sorry, my team completed the biggest comeback in baseball history and Manny decided to have a little bit of fun at Jeter's expense. Get the fuck over yourself. This is undoubtedly the greatest week of his life, as well as the lives of Red Sox fans. And now he has no class? As opposed to a fanbase that wanted Tony Clark to die the night that Foulke struck him out? As opposed to this same person that wants Torre, Cashman and the rest of them fired for giving them four titles? Some crafty logic there. And I'd take Manny over Jeter every day of the week and twice on Sunday. His defensive woes aren't as bad as people think, he's actually not that bad in the field and has a great arm, he just makes mistakes every now and then. Like Jeter.

I do the same thing. I hit up Target for Reese's Cups for 80% off. They have a combination bag of Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids and something else that I'm literally salivating over. Sure, I could go buy it now, but if I can have it for 80% off, why not?

I judge kids costumes and dish out the candy accordingly. As a result, the kids in the neighborhood have taken to having some cool costumes already (our neighborhood had a few kids last night). One kid was dressed as Johnny Damon, with a wig and huge beard. I gave him almost half the bag. Any teenaged looking kids get kicked out. Nothing from me, and I watch them until they leave the property.

The worst are the fucks that not only go trick-or-treating, but who destroy people's property after they get candy from them. Assholes.

That wasn't an either/or proposition, and they got Millwood two years after they got Schilling. Schilling was traded for Vicente Padilla, who has been fairly good himself, for $10 Million less. I thought the situation was both were free agents at the start of this past season, and the Phils decided on Millwood? Schilling wasn't a free agent prior to this season, he was under contract with the Diamondbacks and was traded to the Red Sox. Then it was either resign Millwood or trade for Schill? I definitely remember Schill wanted to come home to Philly before this past season started, but the money given to Millwood prevented that. Philly probably didn't have enough to offer Zona. As it is: Arizona Diamondbacks traded Curt Schilling to the Boston Red Sox for Casey Fossum, Brandon Lyon, Jorge De La Rosa and Michael Goss.

ri·val·ry ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rvl-r) n. pl. ri·val·ries The act of competing or emulating. The state or condition of being a rival. What the Red Sox and yanks had prior to this season was a big brother-little brother relationship, with the Red Sox, really deep down, being insanely jealous of the yanks and their success but masking it as hatred. This lead to the numerous fights and fallings out. They were like brothers. I think that as much as moron yanks fans like AS will deny, there was always a respect on both sides. The Red Sox respected the yanks for being successful and were hellbent on shoving one right up their asses and being better. The yanks respected the Red Sox for always having an attitude for more and coming back to play each day no matter if they were down by one run or twenty. I think the rivalry heated up in recent years because the Red Sox started getting better against the big brother and started beating them at their own game (power, pitchers pulling big wins out of their asses). This season was the ultimate in little brother beating big brother.

God no. Tomorrow, the poor Massachusetts schools will be teaching classes based on Red Sox curriculum. "And then Butch Hobson was succeeded by Kevin Kennedy, who looked like? Joey?" "A male porno star?" "Correct, Joey. Good work. For extra credit, what movie was Kevin Kennedy famous for?" "My Bat and Balls 23?" "You get a gold star, Joey"

Uh... The Tigers won it in 1984, dude. In case you weren't watching, the Red Sox just won
