Yeah it goes 2-3-2.

My tv shut itself off after Longoria hit his homerun, so I think that's a good sign to go out and do something else. I'm thinking of starting to paint.

People get Columbus Day off? It's a federal holiday.
-
I think they should play all games at an undisclosed time and release them on the internet for people to watch at their leisure. People complained (myself included) at the stupid 830 start time for the games in Tampa, games ending around midnight or later, etc. Now we get an afternoon game on a federal holiday, which will let me get to bed at a reasonable hour and there's something wrong with that too?

The Houston Texans just sounds stupid to me.

Bruins made it interesting, which is all you can really ask for. Fernandez looked OK, not spectacular. Savard has three goals already, Kessel has two.

It's not too much media.

I made shepherd's pie for dinner with some garlic bread.

Bruins looked like shit defensively, but still won. I hope this is a continuing trend. Oh and re: Marian Gaborik in the Preseason thread, he turned down a 10/80 contract extension from the Wild. I think we'll be seeing him traded somewhere.

Dynasty mode isn't much improved, but it's still more fun than BAP. Lucic-Bergeron-Ryder Sturm-Savard-Kessel Kobasew-Sobotka-Krejci Axelsson-Nokelainen-Thornton Chara-Ward Wideman-Stuart Alberts-Ference Thomas Rask I'm 16-1 so far, the skill stick is fantastic, again. The AI defense is so fucking smart. If you try the same move twice, you get knocked on your ass. If you try the "throw the puck out front for a goal" more than three times, they put both defensemen in front of the net and collapse the forwards so there's no room. Really smart stuff. They get in front of passes better, they pokecheck, lift the stick, block shots, it's a much improved game defensively.

The Kings signed Patrick O'Sullivan to a 3/8.775 deal. 2.925 cap hit. Great deal for them and good timing.

I gave up on the Be A Pro. Too buggy. There's no reason why the coaches shouldn't juggle lines around. There's no reason why I take over someone's spot and he never makes it back up. The grades aren't done well, either. You can go from an A+ on the game, playing excellently, take a normal shift and all of a sudden everything's down to a B- for no reason. The stats grade is bullshit. I jump off the bench and am sprinting towards the defensive zone. I'm not even ten steps from the bench. They score, I'm benched for the rest of the game and have an F in stats because "You were out there for a goal against, that's a minus". Uh, coach? What about the jerkass player who left the ice and left us at a 5-on-4 to get a line change? No, I'm back to the dynasty mode. 9-1 so far, Bergeron again as my superstar. He's so good in this game. And the little tweaks that they put in on the skill stick, allowing you to lean and fake, juke and even improving the screenability of the goalies is much improved. I love being able to change just the forwards or just the defense, the fighting engine is a bit hard so far but at least they did something different.

Why surprised? He tagged him a few feet before he got back to the bag. The ump didn't even do a flamboyant "YER OUUUUTTTT" just a calm, "out", like it was obvious. Varitek falling two seconds after the play was already dead was the only reason Scioscia came running out of the dugout.

Peter Schaefer has been waived. With the comment of "more transactions to come". *throws confetti* The Blake Wheeler era has begun.

Someone get Mark Bell's keys.

Good old rock. Nothin' beats that.

Great series.

He said both teams, meaning if the Angels got swept last night both teams with the best record in their respective league would have been swept.

Here's how you tell them apart: Jered still pitches in the big leagues.
-
Ortiz has dropped bunts down the third base line a few times to get away from the shift. It takes a superb play from either the pitcher or the catcher to get him at first.

Head Nigger in Charge.

Normally I'd agree about the steelbooks getting scratched, my friends all have that problem. The only steelbook I have is The Departed, which is a fantastic cover.

It would appear that Mr. Hunter has been taken down the tunnel and may have Miltoned himself.

You're in the same trap that Red Sox fans were in. Nobody in the fanbase wants to hear about it, but it's seemingly what defines your team. Like any team I've met some nice Cubs fans and some who were blowhards. Like Czech loves to tear Boston sports teams apart by taking one example and applying it across the entire fanbase, I'd love to do the same thing, but I won't.

Torrriiii Hunter almost Milton Bradley's himself on that play.
