No, he really said it. I don't remember it exactly, but it was about the draft, and something along the lines of: "Now, there's rumors going around on the, on the internets about us reinstituting the draft" and he went on to make his point.
-
I was going to watch it, but it's never on...
-
I'd get him to say "Damn" for my answering machine, but that's not worth 100$.
-
The Yanks led the league in homers if that counts for anything.
-
That's sad. Condolences.

The Yankees were also completely derailed by the worst pitcher in baseball and a surprise (or maybe not so surprise) back injury. The Marlins were better that series. They weren't the better team. And the better team capitalizes on opportunities like that to win. Talk all you want about Weaver. He didn't pitch every inning of the series.
-
Their pitching was better than the Yanks, but the Yanks had the better offense. Florida won 4, the Yanks won 2. I'd say Florida was the better team.

Russ Ortiz is a "veteran right-hander"?

Simpsons 5th Season on DVD December 21st
the max replied to AnonymousBroccoli's topic in Television & Film
This is a VERY good season, definitely worth the money. I still prefer seasons 3 and 4 over it, but this is nothing too bad. -
Doesn't that show loyalty to a player, that he's that important to his team that he practically is their offense?
-
That's what I'm wondering. How could they be open arms towards someone who completely fucked them over? I'd rather go winless than have him as my teammate again.
-
Good point. They also cancelled Clerks: The Animated Series.

So, I guess ESPN's coverage is almost done for the postseason. It's a shame that I would actually look forward to ESPN's commentators and "insight" but dealing with McCarver/Buck for the Red Sox v. Yanks series is probably going to wear out my mute button.
-
Why anyone would want this person as their teammate is beyond me. Couldn't the offensive line just, like, not block on a play and let him get NAILED and laid out and all that? That's what I would do.
-
Apparently John Thomson had a problem with his side, and has left the game. Paul Byrd pitching for the Bravos.

Why ABC, Chris?

He (K-Rod) gave his team a fighting chance. After 2.2 innings of work, Scoscia believed that K-Rod was tired. If it wasn't for K-Rod, the game ends earlier. He gave them what they needed.
-
K-Rod gets the loss because he's responsible for Bellhorn/Reese, the runner that crossed first and won the game. As for the "go out with your best" thing, the Red Sox went with Lowe for the 10th. Not their best. They USED their best to get to that point, being Foulke.
-
Just stay away from threads that don't involve the Yankees. If you're gonna go down, you go down with your best. He didn't. We don't know how well his best would have done. As it is, it's because of Scoscia that the Angels even tied the game, thanks to his moves. So, let's chalk up another tally to Anglesault overreacting to something. That brings your total to one million. Collect your novelty coffee mug at the back door.
-
K-Rod could have stayed, yes, but Scoscia wanted that lefty-lefty match-up. Plus, Rodriguez had gone 2 ⅔ innings at that point, and looked to be tiring.

Foulke finally bears down.

No preference. There's a Circle-K down the street, but their pumps are always broken. I usually use a 7-11 near my doctor's office.
