Nobody even wished me a happy birthday? Bastards. *runs away crying*

A Yankee fan tried to sell Jeff Weaver last year.

Stuck on You. I wasn't able to see it in the theatres, so I rented it the day it came out. I made it probably 35 minutes into it before I shut it off and brought it back. Terrible. Unfunny.

I never accused him of not hustling. Just from what I've seen of the guy, he's on the slower side. Not saying you were. Just saying that he's not the slowest, since he hustles on every groundout.
-
I don't think Papi is the slowest on the team. He hustles and when he does, he's actually pretty fast for a guy his size. I'd say McCarty is the slowest on the team.

I hope he takes a paycut. And I'd love to see his injury-prone ass in T-dot. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=89571 Ottawa declined the option on Bondra, since they don't want to pay him 4.5 million to disappear in the postseas---er...they think they can sign him for <4.5 million. They'd better.

Totally agree with pinjockey on this. The Sox are built around power. Pokey makes the lineup for the only reason that everyone has to bat. I'd love to just have his defense, but it's not allowed, he has to hit. He CAN hit, I've seen him do it, he's just not a guy that does. Not to mention, he's still feeling the effects of that thumb injury. The Marlins were a completely different animal than the Red Sox. They had TWO excellent leadoff hitters instead of one. Pierre has excellent speed and can drag a bunt or slap a single and get on. From there, the pitcher has to deal with the speedy guy at first who is capable of running on any pitch AND a hitter just like him at the plate who can bunt, slap a single to the opposite field, or power an extra base hit into the gap or the corner. After those guys came guys like Lowell, Cabrera, Conine, Lee, and Encarnacion who were all long ball threats. The only weak parts of the lineup for the Marlins last year was Alex Gonzalez and the pitchers spot. The Red Sox can't play that same game. Damon isn't the same kind of leadoff man that Pierre is. He has speed, but is unable to slap hits just to get on base. He's not as fast as Pierre, and the Red Sox aren't much of a running team (and never really have been, IIRC). After Damon, Bellhorn is an OBP guy with power. He's not a guy that you want to waste on bunting, as he's excellent at drawing a walk. Then comes the thunder with Papi, Manny, Nomar, Tek, Trot, etc. Do you want at-bats taken out of their hands because of wanting to play Marlins-type small ball?

In my dynasty in NHL 2003, I'm the Atlanta Thrashers. Since they aren't a very good team overall, I decide to basically tank the team for the season, keep Kovalchuk and Heatley healthy and productive, and shoot for the #1 pick. So...the season is over, Heatley and Kovalchuk have excellent seasons (87 and 94 points, respectively, which plays in with the 'Potential' stat). I get the #10 pick in the draft, which REALLY pissed me off, since I had the second worst record in the league, and there are three draftees rated 93 or above. Valiantly, I try to acquire one of the top three picks...offering my first round pick, second round pick, second line center, second line winger, and back-up goaltender for the Los Angeles Kings' #2 overall pick and their fourth line center. They said no. To everything. The draft comes, and of course, I lose out on all three draftees and get the BPA in a defenseman rated at an 85. His first game of the new season, he goes down with a fractured collarbone for the season.

I'll pass on both.

Good matinee today with the Cards and Bucs playing at 12:30. I've only seen the highlights of the games in this series, but they looked to be pretty enjoyable games. I'll be tuning into that rather than the Astros v. Cubs on ESPN2...again.

Derek Lowe can kiss the fattest part of my ass.
-
True, but he should be over it by now. He sulked on the DL at the beginning of the season.
-
I like that deal. I like Matt Clement and his demeanor. He's a rough pitcher. Nomar seems uninspired, Pokey has been awesome in the games he's played, Bellhorn is capable of playing second, and Mueller will be back soon. Pedro was dominant the last time out against the Yanks in the Stadium, too. I don't expect him to repeat it, since his curve was flat-out UNHITTABLE. My only big question mark for the series is Derek Lowe. His starts have been inconsistant in the last few months. Wakefield is hit-or-miss, but Lieber doesn't really scare me.

I think they were desperate to get rid of him, based on the fact that they had possibly the best Senators team ever last year in the playoffs, but because of his shoddy goaltending, they were eliminated in the first round. Lalime isn't damaged goods, per se, he's just high maintainance. If he's not absolutely unbeatable, his confidence goes to shit. I would have liked Muckler to get more for Lalime, specifically a more offensive fourth line talent. Varada and Neil are good, but I would have liked to see Peter Sejna come over in the deal too. The Blues are set for goaltender now though. Lalime has been in the league for a while now, he just needs a new setting.
-
I hope Ortiz can keep on his fiery pace. He's been on a roll lately, as has Manny. Also hope Lowe pitches well, he's 3-1 in his last few starts, but some of those have been rocky, outside of his excellent start against the Dodgers.
-
Something to think about, but Osgood has won the Cup. Lalime, well... where's that beachball picture? True, but that had a lot to do with the team that was in front of him, as far as Osgood goes.
-
Don't know why they'd keep Osgood.
-
I love the way that Ilya Kovalchuk sounds, as well as Maxim Afinogenov.
-
And, the 12" series, which is Gretzky only: I can't wait for these to come out. I plan on getting both Gretzky's, the Cheevers, and maybe the Cournoyer.
-
Good riddance to him.
-
They've already said that they plan to make Gretzky in every jersey, so there will be variety. I hope one of them is the Rangers farewell.
-
He used the silver Easton later in his career, didn't he? All the ESPN Classic that I've seen, he's been with the Titan.
-
Don't get your hopes up too high for Bonk. One of the biggest clutch non-performers in the league, refuses to step up under pressure, and does not lead his team. I would have liked Muckler to have gotten more for him, but, he's gone and that's the important thing. I hope Muckler can get Bondra and De Vries resigned.

They (Dodgers) got shelled last night, didn't they? Sometimes, they'll put in a position player to pitch to save arms in their bullpen.
