*shakes fist at Rant* I get Jeff "can't do play-by-play to save my life" Rimer and Denis "You gonna finish that margarita?" Potvin.

There was that guy on Florida State who finally left school when he was 28 or something.

Because Gretzky was a proven winner and the greatest player ever.

*jumps around in anticipation*

Dunno, I'd rather have Schilling, who actually gets it done in the playoffs. And I don't know about you, but as a Red Sox fan, I don't go crazy when they don't sign the big free-agent that off-season. This is a trade that makes them a better team, so I want it to happen.

Well, Zito will stay in Oakland most likely. Hudson will be the one available.

SPAM sucks. So does spamming.

Well, then the thread title would be appropriate.

Apparently, this PETA spokesperson was talking about himself and his bretheren.

agreed they should give her a big bag of cash.

But you have to admit, the scene on the mountain, where Frodo loses the ring, and Boromir picks it up and reluctantly gives it back to Frodo was a pretty good scene in of itself. Showed his inner turmoil of doing his duty to the fellowship, or to his fellow people. I didn't really like that scene very much. Bean's facial expressions just kind of seem odd to me, I suppose.

But that game SUCKED. I'd say Game 7 of the East final, but ESPN seems to be doing its best to avoid acknowledging the existence of the Ottawa Senators. Because they're from some country that nobody's heard of.

The hockey game will be SCF game 7, just to cop out of the whole thing.

cartman, as much as Nomar has given the team, A-Rod gives it more by being a defensive and offensive upgrade. I understand that Nomar WANTS to stay in Boston, but me as a fan sees and hears him saying that, and then turning down two very lucrative (12 million dollars a year is certainly nothing to sneeze at) contracts to stay where he wants to stay for at least four more years. What I see Nomar being to the team is gritty, tries hard, and fails to win the big one. That's not what I want representing my team. And I'm soured on him because he's talking big and great about "wanting to stay in Boston" and then turning down two contracts which would have allowed him to do so. If you want to stay, sign and stay. If not, you need to understand that the team needs to improve. And if you have shown that you care about yourself more than the team, you are expendible. Period.

The only actor that I actively disliked was Sean Bean. A lot of it was hinged on my dislike of Boromir, but I saw him as a weak link in the cast.
-
maybe so, but it still makes their odds even better. And MLB still has the Cubs to fall back on.
-
Well, I'm guessing that you deal Fleury then. What's his salary?
-
It benefits baseball by giving one of the league's favorite stories (the "curse" on the Red Sox) a chance to die. It gives the Red Sox a hell of a chance to make, and win, the World Series.

Frees up money so as to get pitching in the next few years. It's mostly about money to them now.
-
Because it's a trade that benefits both teams, that both team's fanbases would like to happen that is getting held up over... ... money.
-
Add me in for the same treatment at the offer of Cold Mountain. My testicles. Not yours.
-
I still retain my hope that the deal gets done. It'd be a blackeye for the game if this proposed blockbuster trade doesn't go through because of a tie up in the courts.

Yeah, what with trying to trade a guy in the last year of his contract after offering him TWO extensions.
