Don't hit me, Sir Rant

Why is it so early in the season? Isn't it only...like...week 6 or something? How many weeks do they play?

Are the die-hard's around the country? I certainly don't think so. A lot more people jumped on the Chicago bandwagon than the Marlins one. And reasons that the Marlins didn't draw well: 1- Bad teams. Almost every year, they were screaming 'wait til next year!' and each passing year, they got worse. Once the fans finally saw that this was a team worth their money to support, they came out. 2- Lack of funds. A lot of the people around the Miami area don't exactly have the kind of money to throw around and go to a baseball game every night. But, like I said, people down here appreciate winning. They started getting into hockey when our ECHL team won a bit, the Lightning are popular now, and the Marlins are the talk of the town.

You know, while there are quite a few bandwagon jumpers down here, there actually are quite a few die-hard Marlins' fans. And this series and postseason will not be forgotten down here, as FSN replays numerous Marlins, Panthers, Lightning, hell, even DEVIL RAY games, whenever something unusual or groundbreaking happens. So while it's true that people started coming out when the team was successful, rest assured that people that live here appreciate winning teams, and will come out to support one.

Yet another who looks past the Marlins...

That constant whistling must mean something.

What about Gopher?

I'd just unplug the phone.

I thought that ESPN had it right when they were airing the World Cup last year. Every 20 minutes or so, who ever was announcing would just say 'This portion of the game is brought to you by _______' and then the company logo would be part of the scoreboard. That resulted in about 45 minutes of non-stop programming, with commercials waiting for halftime.

I don't think he's doing jail time for this. Since the Snyder family did an honorable thing and forgave him at the funeral service, and Heatley wasn't drunk at the time of the accident, I think it's safe to say that he will not do any time. He'll get parole and community service, but no hard time. And TSN seems to think that he'll be returning this year...

That team has potential, with LeCavalier on par for a breakout year. Francis and Cooke are...OK. Francis is dwindling in the twilight of his career, and Cooke benefits from playing on a sharp Canucks team. Samsonov, Tkachuk and Friesen are a solid group on that side. Samsonov needs to prove that he can put up points consistantly without injury. Tkachuk is good when he's not bit by nagging injuries, and will generally give you 70-80 points with a little over on the plus. Friesen is good for about 60 points as well. Hejduk and Bondra are as good as you are going to get. That is a deep, talented, powerful side of the ice for you. Zubov, Regehr, Boyle, Boynton and Jillson are a good corps for you and will be solid. Ken Klee is the odd man out. Kolzig and Nurminen are a solid corps as well.

Those Orbitz commercials with the marionette puppets give me nightmares.

Oh, football rivalries. It'll be gone soon

Eeyore?! Bah, Gopher gets held down.

Well, I heard that they're bouncy. and flouncy. and trouncy. and pouncy. And, from what I'm told, fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN!!!
-
Sadly, I don't think that you have many.
-
They refer to the team as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Don't know why.

Meh...not that bad He seems to be OK so far, but his knees are a ticking time bomb, and he's not going to put that many points on the board. Could be OK, consistancy and health are main issues with him. Not much since he came to the NHL, but he's primed for a breakout year This should be your best player Bad. He's on a downslide and confidence issues are going to plague him in New York. Semi-decent points, but not much else. Good two way center. Not much in terms of point production, unless you drafted 2000-01 Keith Primeau. Good pickup. Led his team in +/- last year Puts up good points for a defenseman. +/- is a concern OK numbers Decent numbers and an OK +/- Capable of so much more than he's going to give you He's about a year or two away from achieving greatness. He'll have another solid year. OK for a backup. He's good....in about 2 years

I can't see the team, as I can't see the league.

Who's on your roster, cartman?
