I don't understand the 'Anaheim has average talent' thing, as they aren't led by anyone on offense, which excludes Fedorov from the get go. They are led by using a 'team first philosophy', rather than an 'individual player = leader philosophy.' That's why they will be successful. Add in that they have grinding, talented forwards, a young, stable, defense with a bright future, and one of the best stables of goaltending in the league (including Martin Gerber, a starter anywhere else). They have Ilja Bryzgalov, a 23 year old RHL veteran waiting in the wings, at #3 on the depth chart. He's probably a starter on a bad team right now. I understand that you are waiting for them to prove themselves as a force. But the other teams that this happened to did not have the depth on the main roster, play in a two team division, and have the talent in the minors that Anaheim has. They will prove it.

It's asking me for a league number

I can draft on Thursday, as I have the day off. The rest of the days this week are really bad.

Half a minute?! Try 10 seconds. When the ball landed, he started trotting and pointing into his own dugout.

I understand that some still want Anaheim to become the underdog that gets buried, but this team is talented, sticks to its system, AND went out and got two defensively responsible, but offensively respectible forwards to complement their system with the Fedorov signing, and the acquisition of Prospal. Giguere, barring injury, is one of the top goaltenders in the league. He is so good at the simple basics of playing an angle, controlling his rebounds, and knowing where he is at all times that if he does give up a rebound, he knows exactly where to go to defend against it. Add into the fact that he has an underrated defense around him (even with Carney missing a bit of time with his foot problem), he still has Ruslan Salei, Niclas Havelid, Kurt Sauer, and Vitaly Vishnevski to compliment Sandis Ozolinsh and Todd Simpson until Carney gets back. So Giguere has a sound defense in front of him, with a perfectly capable offense who can score goals in bunches, with a weakening division (Dallas' star is falling (no pun intended)) around them (with Los Angeles, San Jose and Phoenix, arguably three of the worst teams in the league). Personally, I think you're biased here.

I don't think that enough people are taking the Marlins seriously.

You had meaning?

Showboating? OMG HE PUMPED HIS FIST AFTER A WIN IN GAME 2! He should die for such an act!!! How about Derek Lowe grabbing his balls and flipping off the A's dugout? Gee what a classy team the Red Sox are. What the fuck did the A's ever do to Derek Lowe? Oh and I'd say karma got Johnny Damon tonight for his comment after the Red Sox went down 2-0 that Boston restuarants should poison the A's players when they are in town. Joke or not another show of Red Sox class. Holy Double Standard Batman!

I agree. Normally Brenneman isn't that bad, but he and Lyons were just TERRIBLE. What with their ripping of Manny for the homerun thing. Funny how Bonds does it after every at bat and FOX and ESPN are quick to fellate him, but Manny hits a key homerun and walks 10 steps down the line and he's the fucking anti-christ all of a sudden. Showing the collision repeatedly made me sick, especially hearing Lyons say, "This is just sickening to watch...let's see it again" Add in the Buckner comment and I was unhappy watching the game tonight, except with the outcome.

Gee, I only smoked about 12 cigarettes during that bottom of the 9th.

I would respond by talking about watching my copy of the 1957 World Series but I missplaced the tape

That is very heartbreaking. They were saying that they were optimistic about him recovering too.

Why? It's not like Florida is a fluke.

Let's go Red Sox.

Go to Lyndonville. At least you won a semblance of a championship. My hockey team in high school's winning percentage? .058 That's 7-108-5 (W-L-T)

He's nothing more than a 3rd line center. And I watch mostly Panthers games, as I haven't had the digital package since I moved down here. It's OK, but you always know that there are bigger games that could be aired on ESPN, but they'd rather air a game between two colleges that I've never heard of. Like you said, there's talent there, and they can get into some good brawls (the one against Lemieux and the Penguins this past year was fucking awesome) but other than that, you can only watch so much of them without being a fan.

The way I figure, even if I only watch a game every few nights on week nights, and most on the weekends, I'm still getting the games that I want to see. Not Nashville at Florida, but Ottawa v. Toronto for example. All the out of market big games on Saturday, plus the feature match on HNIC every week? I'm in. Time Warner is going to allow me to pay in increments of 40 bucks, so it'll be easier that way.

Nah, they'll be around a lot longer in a more prestigious tournament...for some big silver trophy.

I'll be watching that, through the magic of NHL Center Ice

I got asked what kind of car that I would be at a job interview. I was like, "Uh, could you repeat that, please?"

What a fucking baseball game.
