Another case of it not being the Flyers' player's fault. As someone who has probably been skating since he was able to walk, Hartnell could have avoided contact. It's not like Alberts is the first, nor will he be the last, to play a puck like that. While hockey is a dangerous sport, there is NO reason why Hartnell had to follow through there. Hartnell's job is to hit the player, yes. But had he used a bit of common sense, he'd have realized that NOTHING good was going to come from hitting a guy on his knees three feet from the boards. The Flyers are fucking bush league and I'm sure we'll be hearing different when karma turns around on them. Four incidents of dirty play or questionable judgment in less than 25 games. FOUR. There comes a point where someone is going to have enough and take out one of their players. I'm not saying it's right, but it is going to happen.

You can't really see the hit until around a minute and a half in, they show it from different angles. And don't mind Jack Edwards. He's just a hack.

If they're not willing to take players not named Hughes, Cano, etc. the Yanks can wait until free agency or let Santana go to another team then. They're going to have to give up something to get something. Especially when it's a player of that caliber.

If Santana's going to sign an extension as part of the trade, wouldn't the Yanks give up more? And I don't think quantity is going to get it done. The Yanks would be acquiring arguably the best lefty in the game in the prime of his career. With an extension. Quality gets that done. Not just piling more players into the trade.

Alberts made a stupid decision to kneel at the blueline to stop a soft dump-in. Hartnell was on his way to hit Alberts (as he should do) but didn't let up, slow down, yield, whatever you want to call it despite having more than enough time to do so. Alberts' head was caught perfectly in Hartnell's hip and slammed into the dasher/glass. Hartnell was given a major and shown the door. That's four incidents this year alone. I don't care if Hartnell isn't a goon, Jones isn't a goon, whatever. This is not a coincidence.

I don't think they should amend that portion of the cap because it doesn't stop a GM from thinking before giving out a big contract to an undeserving player. All it does is give them an easy out, to pay a portion of the contract and get rid of a guy instead of working around the mistake. That's what makes a good GM. Not some guy sending out cash with players to other teams to correct a mistake.

Do you have a close relationship with your family?

I have a great relationship with my mom since it's been her and I since my parents divorced when I was around three years old. I don't talk to my dad or anyone on my dad's side of the family, I haven't since my grandmother (on my dad's side) died when I was in the sixth grade. My dad and I had it out when I moved to Florida with my mom. I told him that I didn't want him to find me, he was a pretty terrible dad and we were better off not speaking anymore. I've never heard from him since. He had emphysema the last time I talked to him (2001) so I'm guessing he's either dead or close to it. My mom has two brothers and four sisters. I'm friendly with everyone but two sisters. But I don't see or talk to anyone since I don't like talking on the phone to people that don't share interests. Once I get past the "life update" it becomes periods of awkward silence until I find an excuse to end the phone call. I see some of them more than others, but honestly, it's me, my gal and my mom. That's pretty much the only family I keep anymore. All four of my grandparents are dead, the last of whom died in 2004 (my mom's mom). That was tough to take, since she basically raised me at times in my life. I didn't really cry at the funeral though, so I'm sure her death will hit me in a few years and I'll assault someone or something.

Yesssss indeed. Bruins with a come-from-behind win for the first time this season. Rask looked very, very sharp and got big saves when needed. Looked like a pro tonight. 4-2 final. Huzzah.

All signs point to Bruins Franchise Goaltenderâ„¢ Tuukka Rask (RASK, TOO-ka) making his first career NHL start tonight against the team who traded him for Andrew Raycroft. Rask loves lots of shots, so he should be very comfortable behind this Bruins defense. Yesssss.

The Pretenders version is my favorite version of that stupid carol. I can chuck the rest of that CD.

Scabs win 7-4 with some very creative penalty calling late in the game. Chara hit Kovalev high and was facing an elbowing penalty when Latandresse hulks up and starts a fight with Chara. Chara drops him with two to the jaw, gets a 10 minute misconduct, an instigator penalty, 5 for fighting and the two minute elbowing call. Latandresse gets two for roughing(!), which leads to a six minute Scabs powerplay. Also, Mark Stuart hulked up twice, putting Kostitsyn down once, making Carbonneau almost blow out his frosted tips yelling at Julien. With under a minute to go, Kostopoulous jumps Stuart and gets a quick right to the face and a quick take down.

Great game with the Bruins and Habs right now. Scoring has gone 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 4-3. Habs have the lead right now, but Price is looking awfully beatable and had terrible positioning on two of Boston's three goals. Even the corpse of Glen Murray has pitched in with a goal and assist so far. Right now, it's not that the Habs are winning, it's the Bruins are making too many mistakes and turnovers leading to Habs goals. I expect Julien is thrashing them right now and I fully expect them to pull this one out.

I read that Burke tried to trade him, but couldn't get anything for him. I call bs there. I think Burke was trying to rip someone off and didn't get any bites on that. But you're telling me that Pittsburgh wouldn't bite on a trade for draft picks or prospects? To get a starting goaltender? I doubt that. However, if that is true, and Burke couldn't get anything worthwhile for Bryzgalov this means that Glen Murray and his albatross contract are with the Bruins for the long haul. Nobody is going to take on a 4.1 million dollar a year scorer that isn't scoring with one of the best passers in the league feeding him night after night.

Cincinnati moved to Rockford in 2005 and are now the Rockford Ice Hogs, Chicago's AHL affiliate. The Ducks signed an agreement with Portland that same year. I think it's a bit stupid to have a minor league affiliate in Maine when you're in southern California, but what do I know?

    Let's send Ripper some water

You mean like... CLOUDS? Oh wait, this is Georgia. Yes, of course rain is God's tears falling down from heaven. God could start crying at the atrocity that is the Atlanta Falcons.

Recording shows makes no sense for me, since I listen to almost all of O&A every morning and all of Ron and Fez. And even if I have something to do, it all replays on the weekend anyway. Plus, I work in some crappy parts of town and won't leave it in the truck. Also, once it gets too hot on the console (which is easy down here) the Inno shuts itself off and I lose whatever was recording. No, I use it for an mp3 player, since that makes sense. Drag and drop style portable electronics are my favorite. Especially when you don't have to install anything.

It's hard to be flapped when you basically don't have to move to kill off a two minute 5-on-3. They were getting booed for two reasons: 1- The building had more Habs fans in it than Bruins fans. 2- They were standing there watching whoever had the puck instead of moving around and trying to open shooting lanes. Making the defense move on powerplays is essential and it's something that the Bruins cannot grasp. This team needs a finisher. Badly.

Okay, this makes no sense to me. If you A: Don't like regular radio, and B: Don't really wanna pay for satellite, why would you buy a satellite radio that functions as an MP3 player, when you could've just bought *an MP3 player*, put a bunch of music on it, and listened to THAT? I generally don't give a rat's ass about the radio. We have one popular music station, one alleged classic rock station that plays half the stuff that's on the fucking other channel, and a real classic rock station. That's it. Because with an mp3 player, I can't listen to live Opie and Anthony or Ron and Fez.

I didn't see the point in paying for radio either, but I'd rather pay thirteen bucks a month than listen to the smartasses who play edited songs for a living. And then play ridiculously long sets of commercials. With as much driving that I do for work, it really is worth it. Plus, I got the XM inno that doubles as an mp3 player so I didn't have to buy an ipod.

Especially if they keep Zherdev. Zherdev, Nash, Novotny, Brule and Fritsche make a very, very good combination for the top six. They have a young, talented defensive core and a very good young goalie. World, oyster, yada yada.

Refs really gave the Sens that game tonight. The call on Axelsson for "hooking" when in reality, he turned around to find the puck and his stick got red rovered by Phillips was awful. Oh, and the call on Savard for the goal 3 powerplay was bullshit too. And I expect Meszaros to be dealt with tomorrow. Sucker punching the star player in the back of the head isn't a good idea. Wideman certainly jumped in for Savard though.
