It's $50 for 12+1 months (That's what it says on the card). Buying that is probably the best deal.

    Favorite Restaurants

Mel's Diner - south Florida only diner with 11 restaurants, so I guess it'd be a chain, but not a national chain. Good food, good prices. Especially their corned beef hash for breakfast. Pastrami Dan's - Place in Naples that makes some good sandwiches. Philly Junction - Fort Myers and Naples restaurant that does mostly sandwiches, fries, cole slaw, etc. Some soup. Good place. I think it's local.

    This Week In Baseball 9/3-9/9

I'm split about the Red Sox avoiding the FOX/ESPN crap again this week. Toronto's guys aren't bad, but Baltimore's are terrible. Especially their radio guys who called Fenway Park a "toilet" a few weeks ago. Then again, being saddled with Buck/Grampa/Miller/Morgan is worse. Hopefully Seattle can pull their heads out of their asses and get some wins against the Yanks this week. Lead is back to 6 and magic number at 20.

    Buffets

That's how I always did it. A former friend of mine was the overtipper. She would go 18% on a check at a buffet. No matter what anyone said. 18%! I don't tip that well at a regular restaurant.

    NHL Offseason - 2007

The Ex-Bruins continue to staff the Kings. Lewis is probably a better associate coach than a real coach. His style is too confusing to his players. Wonder if he and MOC will be introduced as two of the main reasons why the Bruins have been as bad as they have been for two seasons.

    Boardloaf

A hot pastrami with melted provolone cheese goes very well with some cole slaw and a pickle. I'd eat one everyday if I could. And I wouldn't mind dying at 28 from a massive heart attack either.

I agree that Tony was pretty badass. I remember marking out pretty big when he saved Jack/Audrey at the security compound and took them back to his place to watch futbol.

    Ice Cream

At home. We very rarely go out for ice cream. We bake cookies so that they're slightly crispy and make homemade ice cream sandwiches. Make a dozen cookies and wrap the rest of the sandwiches in foil in the freezer and you're good. My favorite ice cream is usually just the generic store brand, as long as it has something with peanut butter in it. Walmart had some kind of chocolate peanut butter ice cream that had melted down peanut butter in it and chunks of chocolate and whatnot. It was great.

Ever been fired or let go?

Eh. Out of the three, Babies R' Us was the most frustrating because all of my friends worked there. I treated Walmart as a joke job. Kmart was one of the three jobs that I had at the time, so I was usually so tired by the time I got there that it didn't matter. And yes, I celebrated my third year as a satellite technician for the Florida Lottery this month. Stability, huzzah.

Ever been fired or let go?

Got fired out of Walmart, which was my first job because I was able to milk the clock, hide in the backroom and read magazines and swipe various items out of the damage department. Eventually they pulled me out of my department and stuck me on a register during the xmas rush, which worked fine for me and the people who I rang out because I was fast as shit and didn't ask any questions. But management didn't like my "attitude" because they felt I wasn't smiling enough and not showing enough enthusiasm. Except when I got to use the PA system and would drone on monosyllabically. Eventually, even though I was hired far before xmas, I was let go. But by then, I had already started at MVP Sports across the street (and was already basically running their footwear department.) Got fired by Babies R'Us (where most of my friends worked) for destruction of company property. I was the janitor there, a job shared by myself, a 300 lb. retarded woman and a Guatamalan known as "Skip". Great team. I lasted almost two months and three write-ups, but when I accidentally broke a paper towel dispenser in the break room, the boss fired me immediately, walked me out to my car and (I still remember this) told me that I was a poor excuse for a janitor, which was bad news for me because that's the only career option that I probably had. I told her to fuck herself and threatened to run her over with my car. Funny sidenote: I ended up working at/managing the Dunkin Donuts down the street from this place and I wiped my balls with her danish one time. Also got fired from RFVideo when I worked in their kiosk in the local mall. Basically, I took the job because I hung out there and bought a lot of shit from them anyways. The boss there was a prick who was forging his timesheets (putting down that he stayed until six, when he was ducking out at 230 when I got there) and stealing tapes, shirts and whatnot from the inventory. Anyways, I got canned when I called the main office and complained because I had yet to receive my paycheck and it had been almost two weeks. Since I was closing alone in the middle of december, I threatened to drop the curtains, lock the joint up and go home. They assured me that I would get my check that weekend. I called BS and closed up for the night. I think they got fined for us closing early and made up some bogus charge that I was responsible for all of the tapes and shirts that were missing (even though I didn't watch any of the tapes that were stolen) and got fired. They were going to take it out of my paycheck, but I told them that I had contacted the BBB and they gave me cash and told me to get lost. Not long after the fact, they closed the kiosk themselves in the middle of the night. The morning guy came in to find that the cart had been completely emptied and had a "FOR RENT" sign on it. Oh and I got my revenge on that boss by slashing his tires when we saw him at some restaurant. I also have the McDonald's firing story. I just stopped showing up. But, I was working three jobs at the time and being swore at in creole every night wasn't worth the six bucks an hour they were paying me. I ran the grill and just decided one morning when my alarm went off at 415a that I was sleeping in and showed up two weeks later to turn in my never washed uniform (I worked there for almost a month) and get my final paycheck. Also got fired by KMart. I put in for certain days off and got the approval in writing. My buddy came down from MA for the week and when I went back to work after he left, I was told that I was fired for five days of "no-call/no-show". I asked to see the schedule and found out that they had handwritten days for me to work without telling me anything. Eh. It wasn't like I needed the job.

    Trades in Sports Games

It's too easy to stockpile picks in the NHL series. Simply sign players from the free agent pool and trade them to crappy teams for good picks. It's the fast track for rebuilding. Probably the stupidest trade I saw recently was Jarome Iginla for David Legwand/1st/2nd.

    Summer Television

Are you looking forward to the FOX version coming this fall? Yes and no. On one hand, it'll probably be so fucking over the top like "Hell's Kitchen" is that it'll be hard to turn away but for laughing too hard. But on the other hand, it's a great premise. Like him or not, Ramsey knows what he's doing. I love this British version (which I hadn't seen before two weeks ago) because he shows his nicer side, but isn't afraid to yell at people. I have the feeling that this American version is going to be all about the yelling and less about the problem solving.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=213812&hubname= Bruins drop Donovan on Ottawa for Schaefer. Schaefer makes more coin than Donovan, but is a better player. I like this move a lot even if it leaves the Bruins less than 1 million under the cap.

    Harry Potter Movies

Not a bad movie as long as you don't think about the book while you're watching it. If you're like Mole, who thinks that the books should be transcribed as screenplays, it'll come off as choppy and very fast. If you can just sit back and enjoy it as a different medium than print, you'll enjoy yourself. I liked it as a movie. Some stuff that I like in the book got cut, but as a movie, it was very well done.
