I loved the old Caps sweaters. Certainly a better color scheme than freakish aqua/black.

http://www.tsn.ca/news_story.asp?ID=211214&hubName=main I'm going to go try to drown myself in the shower. I'd rather have Milbury. At least he has a fucking pulse behind the fucking bench. They get rid of the defensive minded coach with little regard for rookie playing time and a boring system and replace him with the motherfucking French-Canadian version of the same fucking coach. Fuck you, God. Fuck you. Guess Chiarelli was too busy on the fucking phone to call the fucking Predators and offer something for Scott fucking Hartnell. Or maybe take a big risk and start offering something for Vokoun so we're not stuck with the fucking beer league all-star Tim Thomas with his Amazing Technicolor Five-Hole next season.

The rumor mill now has Claude Julien being hired for the Bruins vacancy. That's great. The guy who preaches defensive hockey more than Dave Lewis. I DON'T FUCKING GET IT, CHIARELLI.
-
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=211182&hubname= ARGH. Hartnell would have been perfect for Black and Gold. Now he goes to the fucking Flyers. Fuck.
-
Rumor is that Mike Milbury is the lead candidate for the Bruin vacancy.

The Habs dealt Samsonov to the Blackhawks for Cullimore and Salmelainen. The Habs say that they'll buy out Cullimore and evaluate Salmelainen's presence on the team. The Blackhawks lose this, I think.

The hell it won't solve anything. Lewis was clinging to an antiquated system that none of his players understood. It preached little forechecking, no aggression and a lackluster powerplay. Lewis' big ideas always fell flat, the team didn't give a fuck about each other or the game, the games down the stretch made some of those Devils "trap hockey" look like a fucking carnival. There was no passion from the players or the coaches, neither in the game or afterwards. Lewis' biggest "team-building exercise" was throwing around an overstuffed bear head in the lockerroom to get the guys to think on their toes (I'm not making this up.) Bob Francis didn't get much of anything done in the desert. Rumors are strong about Pat Quinn coming to Boston (I'd rather they rehire Lewis than try to impliment some of Quinn's ancient systems) or them promoting Scott Gordon from Providence, which I think is the right idea. Gordon has worked with Bergeron, Toivonen, Stuart, Lashoff, Kalus, Krejci and the rest of the kids who look to be coming up soon. That's the right move to make, IMO.

Just like Beckett was the new Sandy Koufax lol Who made that comparison? LOL?!

You ardent baseball purist!

Losing Tenkrat and York is immediately a step in the right direction, even if it means calling up some of the kids.

Climbin' up the charts this week, it's "God Hates the World" by the Westboro Baptist Church. All the way up to #4...sing along to this catchy tune to the tune of "We Are the World. [solo] Well, you knew God's law but you disobeyed it all spent your lives chasing your lust and lies [everyone] serving all your idols fag beasts and bloody flags fires of hell are waiting there for you [deranged chorus with deranged echos] God hates the world (you know He hates you) and all her people (evil people) you every one face a fiery day for your proud sinning (so just stop it) it's too late to change his mind you lived out your vain lives storing up God's wrath for all eternity! His prophets came standing in His place Your violent ways, you cursed Him to His face [solo] well, well, well, You will soon realize your destruction draweth nigh you will all stand together and fall [lively chorus!] God hates the world and all her people you every one face a fiery day for your proud sinning it's too late to change his mind you lived out your vain lives storing up God's wrath for all eternity! I love this new flavor. Almost as much as I loved CoolER Ranch. Not the half-assed Cool Ranch that they have out now.
-
Also, I'm sure the rest of the league will be relieved that the man, myth and legend, Petr Tenkrat will NOT be on the Boston Bruins next year. Instead, he will suit up and steal money from Timrå IK in Sweden. Oh, whatever will the Bruins do without 9-5-14, -16?! WHAT WILL THEY DO?!?!?!
-
York is a free agent and will be someone else's problem next season. If he does somehow get a new contract, I'm putting out a bounty on Chiarelli's eyes. A Bruin staying, however, is Andrew Alberts. He signed a 2/2.5 million dollar deal today. 1.25 isn't a bad number, but Andrew needs to realize that just getting into fights isn't the goal. You want to WIN some of those fights and then STAY a physical force for the rest of the game. Not fight, lose and shy away from contact for the next three games. He stepped up on the PK this year though. Like Hal Gill, only not giving me heart palpitations when he was out against anybody good.

Well, even if it did air on television in The Office universe, Roy doesn't strike me as a guy who is going to sit down and watch a documentary on office life, even if Pam is in it.

I think Chiarelli makes a big push for Hartnell. The Bruins need a gritty player who can score. Even though Hartnell's career high is 25 goals, his 22 goals last year would have tied him for third on the Bruins. And with such offensive heavyweights as Petr Tenkrat, Jeff Hoggan and Brandon Bochenski as UFA's, the Bruins are going to have to replace that offensive firepower (22 goals between all three of them) with something. And having a guy who isn't afraid to play the corners isn't a bad thing.

Maybe it depends on where you live, but all gas stations down here routinely stock at least four different flavors. When you get into the ghetto areas and truck stops, it's not uncommon to have at least two rows of 10 cans (all different flavors) or in some places an entire Arizona cooler with all sorts of different kinds. I'm a sweet tea man myself, but when I can find the 1/2 tea 1/2 lemonade, I'm happy.

I think the Bruins are so desparate to find some semblance of scoring that they might take a look at Ya$hin on a one-year, relatively cheap contract. I hope Kobasew isn't going to be relied upon for scoring, Kessel had a promising rookie year, but Lewis is likely going to stick with his "Mark Mowers = GREAT" bullshit again next season, leaving: Sturm-Savard-Murray Kessel-Bergeron-Kobasew Axelsson-Mowers-Donovan ?-?-Chistov for offense? I don't buy it. They need something legitimate for Bergeron to center. I'm not saying Ya$hin will provide that, but he might be worth a look if he's looking to stay in the east and not end up with savages like the Kings.
-
http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islan...=ny-main-bigpix Looks like the Islanders bought out Ya$hin. I think it's a good move for them. He was absolutely terrible against the Sabres.

The Mets better keep the Straw's bathroom breaks to a minimum. Don't want people getting suspicious.

More like Lindsay Blowhan. The media coverage of her impeding, unavoidable early death is going to make Anna Nicole's look like a fart in the wind.

Remember last year when Lowell started out tearing the tits off the ball and ended up falling off in the second half? 2006 Before ASB: .307/.359/.516 2006 After ASB: .257/.315/.424 He's a fast starter. He's going to fall off again. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving him now, but we won't be in a few months.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QphT0Wg9-58 McAmmond has had some concussion issues in the past. Wonder if this will affect him.

Neither KC nor Vegas are on the west coast. Those hosts should look at a fucking map.
-
Pronger should be gone at least two. This is the second offense in what? 6 games? He's a big guy, yes, but he's also responsible for his elbows. McAmmond didn't run into that elbow.
