The XM show has its ups and downs. The show on Wednesday was one of their better ones recently, IMO. They went two hours (12-2) without a break discussing changes in life, favorite siblings and kids in sports. I like them over O&A on somedays. I think they talk about Dave a little too much sometimes, but the guy is a complete fucking wreck. Let it be known that I felt the same way as mole did when I first got XM. Then I listened to a few of their best-of's and got hooked. Awesome show.

The pressure subsided because Philly died early. Is Detroit not going to have pressure? I'd imagine that their fans are expecting to go deep in the playoffs after their acquisitions today. Seems to me that Calder is starting to run out of chances. He has a career high of 59 points and only 5 games of postseason experience. Personally, I don't care what happens to him, I just have a feeling that he's going to flame out in Detroit like he did in Chicago.

Chiarelli must have something else planned, because Boyes was starting to come out of his funk this season. I don't like giving up on Boyes this quickly. Wideman is a good player, but tsn bills him as a powerplay specialist, which Lewis doesn't use. He puts Bergeron or Kessel at the point on the powerplay. Chiarelli made two good moves, but I wonder how he replaces Boyes in the lineup.

Murray got injured at the worst time possible and was placed on injured reserve because of his groin. Any injury serious enough to be on IR is a red flag to a team looking to acquire that player for their young players.

I like Aaron Ward. He's basically the same player as Mara, except he makes slightly less and can be counted on more on the defensive end.

I don't understand these firsts being thrown around like they're nothing. I've heard this is going to be a weak draft, but still. A rental player for a first rounder?

I'm looking for a good blade meat recipe and have been unable to find one. All I know is that a friend of my family used to bring over a crockpot of perfectly seasoned blade meat, we'd all take some chunks, put them on a portuguese roll and have some of the best slow cooked food ever. I've looked around in town, but everything is carribean or mexican as far as "exotic" foods go. No Portuguese restaurants or meat markets. So, I'm putting the call out because I'm really hoping to find at least the basics to a recipe that I can fine-tune. Ideally, I'd like to make it in my slow cooker/crockpot, but I'm mainly just looking for the spices and right cut of meat. Thank you.

I tried that recipe from the website you gave me. It was good, not great. It hit the spot for now, but I'm really hoping that Darthtiki can hook us up with a better recipe.

I've been an XM sub for over a year now, after having Sirius for about 8 months. IMO Czech, your love of local radio is easy for you because you're from the greater Chicago area where I'm guessing there are quite a few of each kind of stations (rock, rap, whatever else). That's great. But for a majority of people, there isn't that choice in the market. Take my market, for instance. Fort Myers, relatively small. One alt rock station, two classic rock stations, two hits/r+b stations, three country stations, one sportstalk am station. That's it. So, for a small fee, instead of listening to the same one rock station that plays the same eight "new" songs every two hours, I have the choice of 14 rock stations. That's a no-brainer to me. Add in that no matter what side you fall on politically, there's a channel (or two) for you. Oh, and uncensored comedy. And commercial-free (and relatively interruption-free) music 24/7. Personally, I got XM for the sports, but spend more time listening to Opie and Anthony/Ron and Fez than anything else.

The funny thing about M-A Bergeron moving was that Eklund reported last night that it was in fact PATRICE Bergeron on the block and four teams were interested. Nevermind that Boston and Edmonton are about 2600 miles away, that M-A Bergeron has been rumored to be going all over the NHL or that more than FOUR teams would be interested in acquiring a fundamentally sound two-way player with gamebreaker potential who is locked up for four more seasons. Nope, Eklund believed that because Patrice hasn't played in two games that he was on the block. No, Ek, he's hurt. A little bit of research could have figured that out for you. Asshole.

I have tickets to Boston College v. Red Sox on March 2, which hopefully means that Daisuke will be there. I haven't seen him at all yet. And since we live within driving distance of both the Twins and Red Sox training facilities, I'm sure we'll go to our share of games. I also have the girlfriend on high-alert for any big name player that might come into the mall since she failed me last year when Francisco Liriano came into her store and she didn't get me an autograph.
