That was a good ending, but the end of season 1 left me staring at the tv wondering what the fuck just happened. As long as we can agree that the end of season 2 was the worst.

Ah well. I'll take Jack crying to close the season after finding his wife killed by his traitorous second-in-command, who he just had at gunpoint as more of a "HOLY SHIT" moment.

24: Season 1 begs to differ. Its slow points are highly surpassed by the utter BELIEVABLE (key word) greatness of Jack Bauer. Plus, it has arguably the best season-ending moment in the last 10 years.

Bruins trailed 1-0 going into the third. Three unanswered goals later and Aubin is smashing his stick against the goal post and Sundin throws a temper tantrum in the hallway as the Bruins win 3-1. Andrew Alberts is developing into the top four defenseman that his potential has suggested. He made three or four very, very solid veteran plays tonight. You almost forget that the guy is 25 and has 1 year of NHL experience with the way he's come on lately. I think it's being paired with Chara on a nightly basis and Z's work ethic is rubbing off on him, much in the same vein as Chris Phillips.

Personally, I don't see a problem with hitting your kids. My mom didn't exactly beat me, but if I fucked up enough, I knew that a smack to the back of the head was coming. She never whipped me with a belt or anything. I never feared her, I feared the consequence and as a result, I respect her for it. Hitting wasn't the only punishment, just the last straw sort of thing. I think taking kid's stuff away only goes so far. I was an only child, and as a result, I can find entertainment in just about anything. I had all of my toys and books taken away plenty of times. I knew I'd get them back, but I learned the lesson. Parents now expect the kid to learn a lesson just with a talking to. Any non-retarded kid can answer a simple "Have you learned your lesson?" with a "Yes" to get their stuff back. It's actually forcing the lesson into their soft little heads that's the problem. Too many kids are coddled.

I don't know...a win is a win, albeit an ugly win. I certainly wouldn't fear Boston if I were a top four team at this point, but if Thomas keeps it up, there's no reason to think the Bears can't get into the post-season. Phillippe Sauve needs talent. Kevin Regan isn't close to being ready. Sigalet would probably be called up if they absolutely had to...otherwise, you're talking about making a move for one of the overpriced albatross goalies (Nabokov...) or claiming Sean Burke off waivers from Tampa, where he should be selling fucking used cars because his career ended five years ago. They finally managed to steal one tonight, but I'm not pegging them for the playoffs until they get their cards in order.

Boston wins after another Stuart goal makes it 6-5 and then they get a powerplay after it took the refs quite a bit to count the number of Habs on the ice...and barely outlast the Habs for the win. The Bruins are not even close to being a playoff team with York, Primeau, Mowers and Donovan as major players in the lineup.

Youkilis is a unique player in that he's not really built for one certain position. He's played outfield and both corner positions and done so pretty well. He's not a gold glove player, but he's not going to out-and-out lose you numerous games with his defensive gaffes. He gets on base, which is, dare I say pretty important, and hits doubles (almost a third of his total hits were doubles). He's not a huge power threat and he's not going to get a lot of RBI. His job is to get on base, which he did pretty well last season considering how much he was moved around the lineup.

I went from a 20" tv with the best thing about it being that it had stereo sound to a 52" HD with all kinds of bells and whistles that I'm completely clueless about.
