That I'll agree with.

The Pads still have a chance to win their division while the Phillies got housed in theirs.

I don't have a degree and never had a problem with them. I got my current job from Monster. I guess it's all in how the resume is done.

Monster, Careerbuilder, et all. Just look for a job, it's as simple as that.

It's the American way to beat things into the ground.

QFT Oh no 15%, my cheap ass might have to leave a tip! It's pretty bad when the waiter/waitress hasn't done enough to deserve 15%.

So has Sonic.

How would someone wear both at the same time?

Red Sox - Gets the biggest contract in team history, turns into a fat tub of lard and sucks in the last couple years of his contract. Signs with the Jays, slams Boston on the way out, gets on the juice and wins back to back Cy Youngs. Don't forget his 20K game against the Tigers when the team was, like, 65 games out of contention. Where was that Clemens earlier in the contract? He'd already gotten his money so he decided to see if they could make milkshakes out of bacon grease.

Maybe it's because I don't watch the intermission banter or something, I don't know. That's the time for channel flipping. If I'm watching the game, I don't need to be walked through what I just watched. McGuire was a very good third man during the playoffs when they stuck him between the glass, or whatever they were calling it. Just having him drop tidbits of strategy, what the benches were planning, or injuries opened up a new way of looking at the game. I think it showed people just how fast the game is, what the players do on the bench and how coaches approach the game. I hope NBC/OLN bring that feature back this season. I'd say that I'd like to see other channels adopt it, but you need a somewhat knowledgable hockey mind back there. The Canadian networks would probably be able to pull it off, but NESN would use Tina Cervasio or something in the "sideline reporter" angle, which sucks.

Why any of you still watch this is beyond me. -

Irwin Mainway. Dan Akroyd as a sleazy toy-maker who makes completely unsafe toys for kids and then tries to make them out as being completely normal. "Look, we put a label on every bag that says, “Kid! Be careful – broken glass!” I mean, we sell a lot of products in the “Bag O’” line.. like Bag O’ Glass, Bag O’ Nails, Bag O’ Bugs, Bag O’ Vipers, Bag O’ Sulfuric Acid. They’re decent toys, you know what I mean?" -
I have no problem with McGuire. I don't think it's bad to have passion for what you cover for a living.

Great episode and a strong premiere. I hope that they keep Jim in Stamford for a while though as it is different, having him try to fit in with people who actually work. Also, Roy's mugshot + mouthful of ice cream = mess. I actually felt badly for Roy.

When the postgame spread is bologna, Easy Cheeze and tap water, what do you expect?

Louis CK does that in his act now. He also did the bit on the Daily Show. It's very, very funny.
-
Yeah, it was him. He showed up in the Poochie episode (he was pointed out in the commentary on that episode) as one of Krusty's writers, too, so I guess he makes it into the batch of usable background characters. Just saw him again in the episode where Marge becomes a realtor, so yeah guess he's a regular background guy Most of the animators/writers are used as background characters at one point or another. John Swartzwelder has a statue in Springfield.

I would have talked to his manager. I'm pretty nice to a fault, but when I get one of those morons, it's easiest to just talk to the manager. I don't like making a fuss either, but there's a line between stamping your feet, raising your voice and making a complete fool out of yourself or politely talking to a manager.

Doesn't help when you're not sick but still need to drive to work. Get sick and don't go to work while receiving free healthcare.
