The VP is dirty. I'm calling it now. Awesome filler tonight, setting up Jack v. Audrey. My guess, it's not Audrey, it's

If Kapler makes the team as a non-roster invitee, count him in as well. Surprisingly, he made the most starts in right field in 2004 due to Trot's injury.

I think he wanted to, but couldn't think of a quip in that feeble head of his.

That led to an awkward moment on the broadcast against the Hurricanes. They showed the league leaders in points and both Arnold and Brick were kind of quiet for a few seconds before Arnold half-chuckled and said something like "Joe Thornton leads the league in points" and then it was quiet for a few more seconds before they got back to the action.

This show was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be. I saw the reruns of it a few months ago and laughed quite a few times, especially at the pilates one where Hulk found a new hobby.

Ironically, the first shootout win for the Bruins comes after they blow a two-goal lead in the third period on two horrifically blown assignments and having almost four minutes of powerplay time in a 4-on-3 format to close out the OT but not getting a decent shot on Emery. I was wrong about Thomas in an earlier post as well, NESN showed Thomas' stats in the last four games that he'd played prior tonight and they were pretty good stats...just an underachieving team in front of him playing like dogshit. This is their first win in seven games and they got it from Tim Thomas refusing to lose again.

1-0 Bruins after two. ... ... yeah, alright.

niskie, let me know what the xm handout is all about tonight please. Also, try to get there early to get your FREE GREEN BRUINS HAT! I'm guessing Ottawa houses them tonight, by at least three. Thomas has crashed back to earth and Raycroft is still inconsistant. Plus, this stretch of games is going to be pretty rough with no defense to speak of and a middling goaltending situation going on. Ottawa tonight, Carolina saturday afternoon, the Rags on monday night and the Thrashers on tuesday should be a real hoot.

CG, I have to agree with max on this ... yeah, Boynton's penalties hurt them last night, but our pal Hal spends more time in the box (at more crucial, costly times) than Boynton does. Boynton's passion & energy helps the B's a lot more frequently than it hurts them. And at least he gives a shit. Boynton should be the next captain of the B's. Period. Bergeron is too young, Gill is too inept, and other than those two, there's no one that makes sense to wear the C next year. (I'd have said Axelsson, but I don't think he'll be wearing the spoked B at all ... and I also think that it's unlikely that Sinden would allow a European to be the captain). In retrospect, maybe I did overstep the line, and some of your points were valid, but tell me you didn't curse like a sailor when the Leafs scored two pp goals within 40 seconds last night? Furthermore, I think it's absolutely ridiculous for you to tell me to pull my head from my ass with the frequency of posts Czech and Leena contribute to this thread. I cursed because the PK blew a two-goal lead in :20. Was what Boynton did stupid? Yes, but I give him credit, he's one of the only players who actually seem to care about this team. Alleged leaders Tom Fitzgerald and Hal Gill quit on this team months ago along with numerous others. Sully can't motivate the team to save his life, so Boynton, Stuart, Sturm, Bergeron and Boyes are essentially motivating themselves and trying to get an attitude of "I care, you should too" to the rest of the journeymen and AHL-lifers that are on this team. As for Czech and Leena, both are on my ignore list and I don't read any of their posts, so I can't help you there. I told you to pull your head out of your ass because you suggested that the 21 year old franchise player being traded is the same thing as losing a good, not great defenseman that fans of the team have taken a liking to, and that statement was asinine.

Actor: My favorite is Kiefer Sutherland as he can make any performance enjoyable. But he's not in a lot of movies...I'd say Tom Hanks, since I see pretty much any movie that he's in. Actress: hard to say, really. I don't see movies for any specific actress, but I'd say Jennifer Aniston is my favorite...

Edited for post Tuesday accuracy. The Leafs looked absolutely lost for the first 30 minutes of this game, but hung in there. Then the flood gates opened with Boynton's 14 minutes worth of penalties. Office Glen (can't think of your real name, but you're from Brockville), it's certainly not far fetched to see the Leafs around. I just can't accept that Don Waddell, hot or not, is a better GM than Gainey. Tampa will not make the playoffs, I'm sorry. And while the idea of New Jersey not making the playoffs may seem surprising, they certainly didnt look like a playoff team tonight, and only have a five point buffer zone on ninth place Atlanta. So let the only guy that seems to give a fuck that the Bruins are playing like absolute fucking dogshit leave? Pull your head out of your ass. I'd take Boynton on my team next year over Leetch, Gill and Tanabe without a single hesitation. Boynton's a passionate player and gets in his own way sometimes, which can admittedly be a drawback, but to compare letting him leave as a UFA or trading away the future of the franchise is just idiotic and not funny in the least.

It's awfully hard to cast unknowns all the time when very good actors have appeared in other memorable roles on other shows and movies.

I'm really starting to sour on this season. If this is how it's going to be, I hope it's the last season.

He did an interview with Opie and Anthony about how you can't take anything that Matt and Trey do seriously because they're great at satire and parody.

Kim's death offers the "Jack gets even fucking crazier" card to be played. He's already shot an innocent woman in the knee and threatened to gouge out a guy's eyeballs while he was still alive. Kim dying might push him over the edge... ... ...that sounds like good tv.

Ding ding ding. You win. Then why did the Bruins take him in return? That's the big question. All of the grind players that they already have clogging up the 3 and 4 lines and they go and trade one of their most explosive players offensively for Reasoner. It just doesn't make sense. They aren't going to resign him or else they'd already have done it. It's bad enough that I have to hear about how they're "making a push towards the playoffs" during the NESN broadcasts, but to go and trade one of their biggest chips for what essentially adds up to trading a dollar and getting fifty cents in return is shortsighted and infuriating as a fan. It's mind-boggling that we're supposed to sit here and turn a blind eye to what's going on. Unless they have some big tricks in store for the off-season (and so help me if they get involved in the Marc Savard sweepstakes) to dump millions in salary and find some fucking offensive talent, I'd say the next few seasons aren't looking that great.
-
My bad, I forgot Reasoner and Czerkawski. Hard to forget stand out players like them. I agree about the defense as well, it seems that they've gelled into a good unit. I've even seen Gill playing his position at least twice! Sturm-Bergeron-Boyes Czerkawski-Reasoner-Murray Axelsson-Primeau-Green Langfeld-Fitzgerald-Isbister Scratches: LaCouture, Leahy

I would have thought that Samsonov would fetch a better return than another checking line player, a player that the Bruins dealt to Edmonton for a fourth round pick and a second round pick. I'm thinking that the pick has more value than either player (or even both combined). So now: Sturm-Bergeron-Boyes Axelsson-Green-Murray Langfeld-Primeau-Leahy LaCouture-Fitzgerald-Isbister I think I just threw up in my mouth.
-
I was hearing numerous rumors of any combination the three headed monster Torres/Stoll/Staios for Raycroft for a while. I'd expect one or two of those players to be coming to the Bruins.

Good episodes, but outside of Jack, I'm having a hard time caring about anyone else. Pierce getting a bigger role is great, he's been a nice change of the usual thing. The VP thing seems thrown together, the guy looks like a goon, not a VP. Jack eyeing Kim's new boyfriend (as well as whatshisname trying to mouth off to Jack) was enjoyable, as was how they wrote her character as being completely oblivious to how this affected everyone but her. She wanted to know, she didn't know what to say, and essentially, she couldn't forgive him for not giving her classified information that no doubt saved her life. Poor Edgar. That was tough to watch. Silent countdown...
