Bonk's a black hole. He actually makes players worse and has done nothing in the playoffs but disappear. The only way I take him is if Big Z is going out. That's it. They'll welcome him back if he plays like he did last night. Good puck control and good positioning means that he's on and he was on from what I saw. I only saw the Kovalchuk goal and that was a blown assignment by Boynton, leaving Kovalchuk alone in the slot is going to be a goal 99% of the time. Only a few morons were chanting "We want Thomas" after the two goals that he let in. If he continues to play like he did last night, he'll take the backup slot from Thomas once Hannu comes back. This I agree with. Lundquist has been tremendous, but there has to be a question of fatigue considering all he's done and the fact that the Rangers have to rely on him to win big games since Weekes can't. My playoff picks are a final four of Ottawa v. Carolina and Colorado v. Minnesota.

Manny probably forgot that he signed up to play.

For the teams with poor lineage, they should have done a Rock N'Jock type thing. Roger McDowell pitching, Coolio being available and some real athletes out there trying way too hard. Either that or assign retired players to these countries. Will Clark, Bobby Bonilla and John Kruk are probably available.

We do? That question wasn't exclusively meant for NSkie, Max. By all means, you can answer it too....I've heard Raycroft kicked around, but it just seems weird to hear the defending Calder winner as trade bait. By the way, what's everyone's pick for Calder thus far? I'm still saying Svatos over Ovechkin and Phaneuf. I'd rather hang onto Gill than take on Bonk and his issues. The Bruins already have enough going on with enigmatic forwards (Big Z, Axe, Isbister to name three) that I'd rather hang onto Gill, who is not signed past this season, than Bonk who is. As for Raycroft, I've made my stance that I don't see the point in trading him, no matter how great Timmay has been. Raycroft must have something else going on that's distracting him and he will get it fixed. There's no way to get true value for him, so why deal him? I've read everything from him headed to Edmonton for Torres/Staios/Conklin/whoever Oil fans want to part with.

9.5 million per. Your best option in that situation is to shop him around with a first rounder and try to get someone to take on the salary.

How much of a shot they have at winning it all, I think. That rating is useless, as I won with a team almost entirely consisting of rookies and guys from the draft and had like a 65 Cup chance.

Staley's voice just worked better than anyone else's (even Cantrell) with the music that was written. It's sad that he died, but I'd rather listen to the numerous cd's and tapes of AIC that I have than a cash grab by the surviving members.

Hurry up and get to Target. They have season 1 for the unbelievable price of 19.99.

Excellent show tonight. Peter Weller was excellent as Henderson, a man with a grudge and a definite tie to this. Lots of fun at CTU as well. I think we're going to see the tie in with Lynn getting his keycard stolen next week at some point. Next week: starts at 8: TWO NEW EPISODES! Hurrah.

Ever gotten bad service or bad treatment at a business...

Out at dinner with my mom a few years ago and the waitress ignored our table for a good twenty minutes. I counted the number of times that she walked right past our table (17) to get to the back of the restaurant. It wasn't as if they were busy, it was us and another table of two people. Finally, she came back over to check drinks (we'd both been empty for well over fifteen minutes) and get me another plate of my 'all-you-can-eat fish and chips'. She came back with no drinks, practically threw my plate on the table and stormed off. When we got her back to get the bill, my mom asked her point blank what her fucking problem was and she replied that the entertainment for the evening had called in sick. Then she acted surprised that we were so pissed, considering we'd be paying for a crappy meal and absolutely horrible service. My mom yelled at her, left her a 0.00 tip and we've never been back. -
Getting sick drops their stats a bit. I usually make them play through it but if you give them some time off, they'll get better faster.

Drafted by Colorado in the second round of the 1998 draft. Had played for most of three seasons prior to the incident with Bertuzzi and was only in his mid-twenties when his neck was broken. I'd say that it was a safe bet that he lasted until at least his thirties. The Avs like defensively responsible players like Moore.

Another "build" episode that was centered a lot on secondary characters. After Nathanson died, Jack basically drove around LA for the rest of the episode, despite having a team supposedly looking for him. I hope that by the end of the day, Logan either dies or gets bitchslapped by Mike. Mike is essentially required to make all of Logan's tough decisions and deal with Logan's wife's shit. Lynn flipping out should prove fun for the coming weeks, as he slowly descends into madness.

I haven't been to the movies in what feels like forever. Now I know why.

It's not about risk. It's about one-year wonders. Chacon has been wildly inconsistant during his career, but has the "potential" to be good. He was good last year, but many are wondering if he's going to be the same pitcher next season. Pavano was always inconsistant in Montreal and Florida, which was why the eyebrows were raised when the Yanks signed him to that contract.

Storied Franchises in Total Disarray

I thought it was because of the great year that he was having. -
Baseball is fun, if not repetative and easy once you get timing down. I've only played the Strikers demo, but it's pretty enjoyable. Tennis was pretty fun as well, the minigames and wild courts make it more entertaining. My favorite was Mario Golf though. The courses are very well designed and it is a very entertaining golf game (which is saying a lot for me, since I hate golf).

I love how Sammy turned the contract down because he feels that he shouldn't have to beg for that kind of contract. Toodles, Sammy.

Storied Franchises in Total Disarray

If they rumors of them going after Samsonov in the offseason are true, that's not a bad pairing to build around. Neither are ready to be "The Franchise" but it would be a good start to rebuilding the organization. It's not a bad core, but Ruutu and Sammy aren't going to lead them anywhere. Samsonov needs to prove that he's going to stay healthy and not miss time consistantly with minor, nagging injuries. Ruutu still has a bright future in front of him, but to put he and Samsonov on the same team, they'd need a top center at some point. The closest to that on their active roster is Mark Bell, much criticized for his inconsistancy. -
Storied Franchises in Total Disarray

The 'hawks best chance of becoming something really good again is pretty much "prospect develops into a superstar", kind of like Iginla did in Calgary. They need a guy that's a face of the franchise & helps them compete every night. It's unlikely that they'll sign someone as a FA to fill that role, so they're really reliant on a draft pick or a young, unknown player developing into a franchise player. I think they're waiting for Ruutu to make that leap.
