This Marlins firesale is shockingly simular to me tanking seasons in NHL 2003 and stockpiling draft picks. One year, I had 24 of 30 picks. If the Marlins trade the D-Train, they will be lucky to draw 4000 a night.

I laughed at that Dan Fouts skit. "I think it's safe to say, Al, that the team that puts the most points on the board will win this football game!"
-
Clearly the Netherlands are the team to beat. I mean, Andruw Jones was obviously the best player on the Braves last year and look at what they did!
-
It may be the last team Ponson plays on for quite some time.
-
Narnia looks queer. I read that book years ago and couldn't imagine sitting through a movie of it.
-
So is Andruw Jones going to play every team by himself?

The first one that springs to mind is Roberto Luongo of the Panthers. I'm apathetic towards the franchise since they've sucked hard for almost a decade now, but he's the lone bright spot for the team save flashes of brilliance from their really young guys. He's basically the only reason that I watch Panthers games on FSN, knowing that he's as good as gone already. Also, I like Anson Carter on every team he plays for.

I think Hannu's been getting more playing time because he's actually been performing well. Razor has been downright bad in some games and I think Sully was just going with the better goalie at the moment.

XM has both... http://xmradio.com/programming/neighborhood.jsp?hood=sports Maybe that's just in the States though. If XMCanada has ESPN radio, I'd get XM over Sirius. All Sirius has is the NFL. Hockey coverage has been crappy now that NBA and college football are taking over sports coverage channels. Plus, they replay the same crappy "comedy" shows 76 times a week. Can't wait to get XM.

I'm guessing this is the PS2 version. Pretty good controller, worth picking up with your own money if you don't get it for xmas. I went through three wireless controllers in a span of two weeks before I splurged and spent the money on this one.

Hence why she ruined Mythbusters via shark jump since the show was doing all right without Tits and Asses hijacking the show. Did we fucking need a worthless sack of tits on the show hogging the camera time? Except she can actually do stuff other than fill in a shirt nicely. The only thing she takes away from is Adam and Jamie screwing around. They only show them arguing now anyway.

LODUCA HAS INTANGIBLES!!! THAT IDIOT DEPODESTA SHALL BURN IN HELL!!!

If you're talking about the Bruins, who would you give it to? Raycroft has not looked good and Toivonen is still a rookie. The Bruin that I would consider putting the 'C' on is---Axelsson. He's been with the team for a while and has a very good work ethic. Plus, the other players seem to like him and respect his game. But, I don't think PJ will have as much as an 'A', so I think rotating captaincy is fine.
-
If anything, I think they'll go to a rotating captaincy.
-
They don't have one that I can see. Gill, Boynton and Leetch each had an 'A'. I think Gill will lose his when Murray comes back. I don't think they're going to have another captain this season.
-
Sorry, but Kari is on the 'B-team' and she is a delicious piece of eye candy. So the myth that the show jumped the shark upon adding the build team is totally busted.

Adam and Jamie had better watch out!

Dama looks like Napolean freaking Dynamite.

I don't recall completely turning on Boston. I did say that I was still going to support them, but not as much though, so maybe that's what you're thinking on. They did play very well against Ottawa...for one game. Has this team turned it around? Maybe. They also slapped Toronto 5-1 a few games ago and came out flat for the rest of the week before Joe was dealt. This team is up and down. Whether or not they can sustain this high that they are on will prove whether or not this was a good trade or not.

Isn't Foote injured?

I need to find a new job as I don't think I'm going to last much longer at my current place of employment.

Hannu gets his first career shutout...against Ottawa. I think this game was a mirage. I'm going to wake up tomorrow and find out that they got blown out 7-1, right? Everyone played well and seemed to click. Sturm is streaky, but that line of Sturm/Bergeron/Boyes was the best line of the night. They were getting chance after chance and outplaying Ottawa's defense. The defense looked much improved, as they were all seemingly on the same page for once. Although I don't understand Gill wearing an 'A' unless it stands for 'Ass', he played--gulp--well. Boynton/Stuart was a good pairing. And sure, they'll probably get rolled by the Oil on saturday, but I'll take what I can get. My fandom has been extended another week or so.

I absolutely agree, but this is different from the Nomar trade. This is a direct slap in the face of the fans that are supporting the team that they've almost given up on the season and it's only december. The Nomar trade was at the deadline at least and while controversial in the same ways, the reasoning was there and at least made some sense. Nomar was not needed to keep the offense alive, while Thornton was essentially carrying the offense on his back before he got dealt. It'd be more like Manny getting traded for Doug M. and Cabrera instead. That's the kind of impact this has.
-
I'm wondering if MOC and his wrecking crew are finished. I'm sure they're likely looking for a team to unload Murray to, since without Thornton's presence his value drops. Is the Thornton trade the first of many or do they think this is enough for now? I agree with you about only having a few players that you like (although I'm surprised at Brad Boyes not being on your list. I think he's got a pretty bright future on this team) and have officially decided that I'll be back to rooting for Ottawa in the East as my #1A pick. I don't think I'll stop watching the Bruins games, but I'll certainly lose interest in them rather quickly. And how'd you get a Sharks calendar so fast? You must have bought it on lunch break or something.

At least root for a team that might go to the playoffs... *jumps back on the Ottawa bandwagon*
