While Scatchard has been playing well, he's replaceable by a young forward. Tanabe isn't that great defensively, but he's a warm, healthy body to have on the backend. Not a superb defensive defenseman, but...take what they can get.

And both sides are better off. I honestly don't think he'll be fired or will he quit. This is his living. And everyone who has made a petition to have him fired, you've given him what he wants. Attention. The high level mustaches at ESPN may have said something to him, but it's been a few days. If he were supposed to have apologized he'd have done it by now.
