I've had a few match where I would beat the shit out of the opponent, but they would nail 4 or 5 moves and beat me. I can't really complain as it still improves my stats, and when you have an overall 45 Vs. a 85, then there should be a huge advantage for the more powerful wrestler. Also, I like how the game gives you different stats during the load screens to see how you play during exhibition modes. Nothing major, but a nice little FYI addition.

Yep. Plus I hear he's good in off-television appearances, and he's training to be a road agent I believe. Of anyone, IMO, Val is a lifer in WWE. He and Tommy Dreamer work so well with new talent, I don't think WWE would want to lose them. People were saying pretty much the same about Stevie Richards not so long ago. But Stevie Richards made a name for himself in ECW, as Val made a name for himself in the WWF/E, and we all know how Vince prefers guys he made.

I know I've told this story before, but a few years back during a house show, Val worked with a very green Daniel Rodimer. Val did his damnedest to get something out of Rodimer, but he kept going back to the bear hug (he did about 4 in a 7 minute match). Val ended up pinning the guy, and a few months later Rodimer was given his walking papers.

Or you can be cheap and stack 5 or 6 gut kicks to the beginning of your 3 move animation

Though I'll probably jinx him now, I really don't see Vince letting Val go. He's been around for a while, and he's good with promos and he's a solid in-ring worker. He's about average size for a wrestler, so he's a great measuring stick for new talent to wrestle at house shows. If you can't work well with Val, then you probably won't be around for too long.

Yeah, considering the PS3 is the first current gen console I have owned since the SNES, I never really kept on eye on game rental prices. I was at BlockBuster recently, and seeing that a rental is about $10 was enough to make me want to pass on renting games.

I was going to stay after the credits, but I had to piss pretty bad so I said the hell with it. I'll catch the last scene when I pick up the DVD or BluRay.

Speaking of the Create-a-Finisher, I was a little pissed that I couldn't turn a Samoan drop into a spinning cutter. There is an option to start the animation, but no option to have "RKO impact". Instead, my finisher is a gauge to the eyes, kick to the gut into a suplex which turns into a stunner. Never really spent a hell of a lot of time on it, but I like it so far. The only think I don't understand is how the stunner manages to draw blood. I think someone at THQ fucked up on that one.

I found that kind of lame too. If you go through career mode, all your going to see is your Champion entrance after about your 5th or 6th match.

Finally picked it up today. Really didn't have time to do anything besides enter all of the different codes to unlock various Wrestlers, arena's, etc. Played two short games, and the controls feel familiar, yet refined. Going to mess around with it a bit tonight and try out the create a superstar.

Spike TV announces noms for their farce of an awards show
AntiLeaf33 replied to AndrewTS's topic in Video Games
Yeah, seems a little lame that a lot of the games nominated aren't even released as of yet. Seems more like Spike giving the gaming industry a quick blowjob then actually congratulating good games. -
I don't see what the deal is with killing zombies, regardless of color. Are we only supposed to kill the white ones or something?

I've noticed the price for World at War is anywhere from $59.99 - $69.99. Normally I don't much more then a few cents difference between stores, but this game's price is all over the place. I will probably pick it up down the road, but between my season in NHL 09, and the time I'm going to put into SmackDown Vs. Raw 2009 when I pick it up in a few days, there really isn't a need to pay full price for another game.

Brian Burke is out as Duck's GM. Writing was on the wall here as he made it clear that there were some family issues with being on the West Coast. Link

What was the weather like in Seattle for WrestleMania XIX? That stadium has a retractable roof so that would have been a great chance to do an outdoor WrestleMania. Then again, they did have a pretty elaborate set up, so opening up the roof may have been ruled out due to the lighting setup.

I guess this means the last of the Honk-a-meter

I was going to pick it up today at WalMart, but the guy at the electronics department was slow as hell, and there was no one else around to get me the game from the glass cabinet. I would have waited around, but I just bought groceries, and I didn't deel like going home with a trunk full of melted food. I'll probably end up picking it up over the weekend some time.

Not a hell of a lot of guys in TNA I'd like to see make the jump, but Christian is definitely one of them. He started to catch fire at the end of his WWE run when he went to SmackDown!. Now that he is a former World Champ, I can't see why he can't get a push similar to that of Jericho.
-
Not be a prick or anything, but what is this guys deal? Is his English really that bad, or is he just a gimmick poster?
-
Speaking on long moves, can you interrupt a character while he is in a move animation? I believe I saw it done a few times during the demo.
-
I've heard a lot worse.

The way I understand it is that you can use ripped music for CAW entrances and for the menu's, but you won't be able to listen to music off of the hard drive during a match (as opposed to listening to the commentators I assume)
-
Sweet! I can't wait to get Jericho out of those old pants.......hang on
-
Yeah, I agree. I miss the old school games where every guy had a few outfits to choose from.

I really don't think this hurts the credibility of the WHC, since Batista's latest title run was the shortest in the belt's history at 8 days. All other title reigns have had a minimum of 28 days in length, which shows that this title does not have a history of being hot shotted around. A short title reign every now and then just makes the champs look human, and is only good for the belt......just don't go to hell with it, thats all.
