OAO 11/05 Raw Thread...... no longer thinking about "Y2J"
AntiLeaf33 replied to Boxer's topic in The WWE Folder
Honestly, the entire point of Marella's character isn't that he's competent in the ring, extra tough, or anything approaching a dangerous opponent; he's written and booked as a big mouth loser whose claims to camera time are (1) he's hilarious on the mic, and (2) he's got a somewhat hot girlfriend. This is exactly the kind of character that everyone tunes in to see squashed. That said, a little teasing of the squash would do wonders for Santino's heel heat. F'rinstance, when Austin first shows up, have him unload in standard Austinian fashion (accompanied by the inevitable "What?!" chants), and then have Santino rochambeau him and run away with Maria in tow, claiming that he has "outsnaked the snake of rattling" or some other stereotypically foreign malapropism. Then Santino gets more heat, and Austin gets really pissed, and we could build it up to a PPV event. That won't be what happens, certainly, but that's how I'd do it. That way, Santino gets a good heel rub from crimping Austin's normal "stunning" style, and we get the payoff of seeing Santino eat a richly deserved stunner (at least kayfabe-wise - we all know that he's completely right about "The Condemned" blowing chunks and Austin having no acting ability). That would be nice if it were to happen like that. Odds are, were going to have Santino in the ring, berate Austin, Austin come out, do his "What?" mic spot, stun Santino, drink some beer, and leave again never to be seen again till next year some time -
What was the budget for Bee Movie?

Really? I'd almost say that it all started going down hill with Follow the Leader. Sure, it wasn't really a bad album, but the writing was on the wall for what was to come.

I haven't seen a Blue Jackets game this year, but is there any reason why Pascal Leclaire has so many shut outs? Are they playing a trap, or pro-defense game, or is he really just playing out of his mind?
-
Harry will still get his push. Just give him a slow build when he does come back and let the crowd warm up to him. I think the suspension will be a nice wake up call for the kid. We don't need another Smith dead before 40.

If Taker is heading into Mania as champ, then have Edge win the Rumble and have Edge/Taker end off WM. John Cena is not wrestling this year, so we might actually get a Smackdown! main event to end of WM this year.

I guess it makes more sense, if a guy just had a long lay off, and you want him to have an occassional match, then he might as well be in optimal shape for his return. If he were to come back smaller then usual, then it would probably only take Triple H about 10 minutes or TV time before he makes a "Who left Jericho in the dryer?" type of remark

Speaking of Brooke, I wonder how long its going to take for her place in EE to be filled.

Yes. Yes it is.

When was the last time you logged in, or downloaded something? XWT recently deleted my account because I didn't use it in a few months. Had to create a new account, but my old UID was still available.

Habs lost on a garbage goal. There is no way that that shot should get through Huet. I wouldn't be surprised to see Price in net on Monday

Yes, they will get a job....at severly reduced pay compared to the winner

If you have to choose between either version, the 360 version looks to be the better one from all indications

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?
AntiLeaf33 replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
I remember Sid Vicious damn near breaking his neck with a powerbomb inside the cage at Wargames 91. Does that count? Not a singles match, so I guess not. Thats the thing with Pillman, he has lots of great moments, but in terms of people saying"I loved that match with Pillman and ----" he just doesn't have that card up his sleve -

vs. liger? Great match? Yes Well known? Afraid not -
First off it was probably Green Day because of Dookie. Thought that album was so bad ass. Then I started to listen to old school Metallica (Master of Puppets, Kill, Em All, etc) and they have been my top band ever since.

There is no way that this is a legit movie that will get a wide release in theatres. Looks like a crappy, peice of shit movie that was slapped together in film school or something...

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?

Brian Pillman comes to mind. I can think of a lot of great fueds and angles he has been in, but I'm not thinking of any well known singles matches he's been in -
Not really shocking, but a sad day none the less. Be nice to see if they have a tribute match for her on RAW

I had a good laugh at my girlfriend last night when she found out her daytime soaps will have to go off the air if a strike happens. She honestly didn't have a sweet clue what to do about it. But what was really funny was when she called her mother. I'm pretty sure I heard a sob or whimper.

I'm really looking forward to trying to drumming aspect of that game. I'm not overly coordinated with my fingers, so I tend to suck at guitar hero, but I can drum like a motherfucker, so I may actually excel at this game

I love how WWE speaks out of both sides of their mouth. On one hand they don't want their performers to be on the juice (or at least get caught) and then on the other hand they want their guys to be as big as humanly possible. Forget about their physical well being, that kind of message from upper management would make you fucking crazy
-
That could be the case, but they have been dropping possible dates in previous promo videos that have passed a while ago. Until I actually see him debut, then I'm not really paying attention to the promos any more
-
Yeah, that call was brutal. Good to see it wasn't a 1 goal game
-
Another good game by the Habs. Good to see Kovalev is playing like he can, now Ryder on the other hand really seems to be fighting the puck over the last little while.
