RKO makes sense though. It is not only his actual initials, it is a reference to the old movie studio and also works as Randy's Knock Out. So I don't consider it that bad. Sweet Chin Music is pretty bad. How a chin is related to music in anyway is beyond me. Maybe it's meant to mean the sound it makes when he kicks someone in the jaw like when Test used to slap his thigh, I don't think it was ever explained though. "That's Incredible" for Justin Credible's piledriver was pretty gay. As was his catchphrase. Actually, pretty much everything about him was gay. What's the deal with the Emerald Frozen/Frosien/Fusion? I know what it is, but what the hell does the name have to do with the move?

You mean the one where he beat Paul Varelans face into a new shape?

I thought it was funny in so far as being the best thing since sliced bread, but as an actual name, I agree, shitty. The MCTHFG was a Dr Seuss reference I believe to tie in with Saturn's random character. The Right Angle made sense, especially the way he lifts them so they are perpendicular to his body. The Baldobomb was pretty bad.

Most early Pancrase shows had a few works on them to make certain native fighters comercially viable, however by 96-97 they were virtually all shoots. Even PRIDE had works to begin with, Takada admitted all but his fights vs Rickson and his last fight were works after he retired. Bas contends he was never involved in any works and I tend to believe him because he fucked up a lot of people during his tenure there and claims it was Shamrock's kneebar on him that gave him the drive to train hard in grappling so he wouldn't be submitted and feel that kind of pain ever again in his career. And that suplex is good, but the fact he rolled through into a Kimura lock is even more impressive. I quite like Herring-Nog 1, both Silva vs Rampage fights, Hendo vs Ninja, Hughes vs Newton 1 (one of the best finishes to an MMA fight ever), Cro Cop vs Nog, Sudo vs Ludwig (even if the decision was wrong, the fight was excellent), Sakuraba vs Newton and the disgustingly brutal war that was Inoue vs Vovchanchyn.

Hassan is opposed to America currently, Benjamin is a two time NCAA all American so sayeth Jr, so the feud is right there. All American face that made good on his opportunities vs Anti-America heel complaning about harships rather than overcoming them like Benjamin has. All you'd need is Benjamin to come out and say, "I can understand where you are coming from but I am sick of hearing you complain about it. When I was living with the knowledge I could go to school and get shot, I went to school anyway to better myself. When people looked down on me because of where I came from and didn't believe I could make something of myself, I went on to become a two time All American and graduated from university. When I came to the WWE, people doubted my abilities but I have held the tag team titles and hold the intercontinental title right now. I have suffered hardships all my life, not just since September 11th, and I am sick about you blaming everyone else rather than taking charge to prove people wrong. Take action!" Have Daivari jump on his back, Hassan can clock him with the title, and then Hassan can go "There, you wanted me to take action? How about I take your title too?" Feud set.

Bas and Frank don't get on due to some comments Frank has made about him in interviews over the years. Bas heard about them and while he was not happy about them, he just put it aside as Frank keeping his name afloat, much like Frank's challenges to Sakuraba and Silva that never went anywhere even when PRIDE approached him with contracts. Basically the dad was being a dad and scolding his son for making a mistake so Ken took it upon himself to scare the shit out of the guy for being a parent. Blue is only up from white so he'd know the basics of escapes and positioning and have some decent subs in his repertoire, but if he'd been a brown I'm sure he'd have fared better. Ken is ripped and has more experience so I don't find it hard to believe he could school a blue in no gi sparring. The funniest Guy story I heard was when he fought in the UFC against Jason Fairn, before the current rules were put in place, they made a backstage agreement not to pull each other's hair because Guy didn't want his ponytail ruined.

thats funny, so there is absolutely nothing scary about any guy in their 40's? When the guy in question is 6'10", about 285lbs, and tattoo'd all over... wouldn't you be a little intimidated?

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Chuck is a BJJ purple belt under John Lewis. If he doesn't know mount escapes, which as I as blue belt know, then something's up. I think in all honesty it's just hard to shift a guy with great balance who has been training wrestling for 32 years whil he is punching you in the face. Escaping mount is one thing, escaping being mounted while getting GnP'd by a guy with fantastic balance is a much more difficult task. Chuck went a good while against Belfort, he's not got bad cardio when he fights strategically. It's when he tries to stand and brawl like he did against Vernon White that he gasses. The quad thing was mentioned about 2 months after the Quinton fight on MMAweekly's main page. -
PRIDE doesn't usually release their pay roll. UFC does. Tito Ortiz: USD$125,000 to show, USD$50,000 to win Vitor Belfort: USD$100,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$40,000 Tim Sylvia: USD$40,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$40,000 Evan Tanner: USD$18,000 to show, USD$20,000 to win Andrei Arlovski: USD$12,000 to show, USD$18,000 to win Nick Diaz: USD$6,000 to show, USD$5,000 to win Phil Baroni: USD$10,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$10,000 Paul Buentello: USD$4,000 to show, USD$4,000 to win Karo Parisyan: USD$4,000 to show, USD$4,000 to win Mike Kyle: USD$3,000 to show, USD$3,000 to win David Terrell: USD$6,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$6,000 Justin Eilers: USD$5,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$5,000 Chris Lytle: USD$4,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$4,000 David Loiseau: USD$2,000 to show, USD$2,000 to win Pete Sell: USD$2,000 to show, USD$2,000 to win James Irvin: USD$3,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$3,000 Drew Fickett: USD$2,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$2,000 Gideon Ray: USD$2,000 to show, win bonus would've been USD$2,000 Total Fighter Payroll: $456,000 I believe first time fighters in PRIDE usually enter the promotion and receive $8Gs as a flat fee and then depending on their performance then can neogotiate for more money. Top draws like Mirko, Nog and Silva earn about $225-300Gs including their win bonuses per fight. Carlos Newton fights for a flat fee of 30Gs.

According to Power Slam magazine over here in the UK, talks with New Jack broke down after he blew the whole deal by announcing it on some shitty indy fed card. He was meant to be brought in as the real guy that stabbed Cena but that was tanked.

Sounds about right. It's hard to believe at times both Cornette and Heyman, who both ran semi-successful promotions, are not on the writing or booking team while Vince's daughter, who worked in the accounts department prior to her promotion to creative director, is head of the whole shebang. How he can honestly believe a 20 something female with a background in finances is better suited for the role than two guys who have been in the business for 20 years aren't right for a position on the team, I don't know. It has to be said, if Heyman is down in OVW right now as reports claim him to be, I can only imagine how good the product will improve down there with the promos under Heyman and rest of the show under Cornette.

There's the semi infamous story of Ken in his WWE days seeing a guy reprimanding his son on a golf course for slicing into the woods, so Ken strolled over and basically ripped the guy a new asshole verbally until he pissed himself in front of his own son. The tales of him proving himself to be a tough guy are quite well known, particularly in the early days of the Lion's Den when they had TMA guys strolling in thinking the were the shit. There was a guy on Sherdog that said he went to Lion's Den Dallas to visit and meet the guys, just roll and spar with some legends. Apparently he was a Brazilian jiujitsu blue belt and since Ken still has a monkey on his back over Royce to this day, he asked him if he'd ever trained with the Gracies and offered to roll with him. A few minutes lather he got kneebar/heelhook combo'd and was out for a couple of months with an ACL tear, dislocated knee and busted ankle as a result, all because he wanted to have the opportunity to roll with some fighters. Guy took up the mantle of asshole while Ken was in the WWF, from all accounts, but is apparently much more mellow and personable these days. That may have something to do with the mini-stroke incident he had last year prior to the War Of '04 match up he was scheduled for, but that's for another thread. Frank from all accounts is a tad full of himself but a very good teacher and very respectful of all martial artists. Dean Lister, Tito Ortiz, Tsuyoshi Kohsaka and Roy Harris have nothing but praise for his skills and training techniques. Considering Tito hardly respects ANYONE, even a guy like Lidell who dropped him like a bad habit, that's saying something. I have met a few guys that have went to Frank's seminars in the past over here and most say his speed and fluidity of technique is something else. Only guy I know of that has ever had an issue with Frank is Bas Rutten, and even he respects him even if he doesn't like him.

Even if we were to send in our complaints formally we'd like get the token "thank you for your interest in WWE" letter regardless of whether our letters had merit. Writer after writer after continuity observer has been fired or demoted for raising their voices and speaking their minds, so I doubt Vince truly gives a fuck about the fans as long as he can afford more houses and private jets. It's all just good PR to act as if he gives a shit, the only people he need answer to are the shareholders and since the majority shareholders are his own blood, I doubt he even has to answer to them. They'll continue to make workers take paycuts and blame "the cyclical nature of this business" for their woes until Vince has to start paying out of his own pocket as he had to for a period in 97. It was only at that point the real turn around came and he started ripping off ECW. Vince isn't going to be concerned until it really concerns him or at least his bank balance.

I am in the same boat as Rudo. I used to be itching to watch the next RAW, SD, Heat and Velocity, now if I miss them I don't care since most of the worthwhile matches end up floating around the net and I don't have to put up with the monotonous voice of HHH for a quarter of RAW on and off and then the multiple repeats of his actions on the other shows as well. All the people that held my interest have been buried, discredited or move back down the card, all the charismatic wrestlers have walked out or grown stagnant due to a lack of character progression, all the entertaining daredevils have to tone their antics down or don't even get decent TV time and all the matches have headlocks, superplexes and bodyscissors so they are interchangable 70% of the time. Everyone knows HHH will hold the RAW title at least 3 times a year and SD... christ, I don't even know what the fuck they are even thinking with half the shit they put on or choose not to promote on there. It's hard to get excited and want to watch a product when everything is so predictable and the majority of the roster are misused. Also like Rudo, I have turned my attention to MMA as it offers exciting and generally unpredictable match ups with the spectacle of WWE but without the additional bullshit, such as completely illogical booking to discredit their roster and interviews that make me fall asleep. I still watch old matches and whatever decent TNA stuff I can get a hold of, but there is little that makes me want to watch current WWE aside from the occasional good match I hear about.

What does a persons sales have to do with their skills? Nelly is shit lyrically but sells by the truckload because it's easy for people to understand and he has good production. Jay-Z even admitted to dumbing himself down to sell more records. Jada has a good flow and can come up with quality rhymes and world play so while he isn't the greatest, he's a lot better than guys like Bonecrusher and Nelly who may have hits but still suck on the mic the majority of the time. And Jada got the number one album spot and went platinum even though it took a couple of months, so it's not like his last album bombed and he can't sell for shit.

Will Smith: The Ed Wood of rap.

I know plenty of people, both guys and girls, that watched from 1998 to 2001 and dropped watching wrestling after the WCW vs WWF angle went up shit creek. Many have said now when they watch the product it makes them sad and laugh at it's current state. Turning rabid fans into embarassed former fans, I'd think, would be a sign something has gone wrong along the way. I guess Vince disagrees and it's just natural. It has to be said though, any other business that suffered the drop off in business and interest WWE has had would probably have most of their staff fired and replaced with people to reinvigorate and redesign their product. Vince must feel that WWE is also above logical business decisions to maintain profitability and brand recognition if he genuinely believes his own garbage.

Are you kidding? I mean he may not be one of the best ever but I'd say he's definitely one of the better MCs around currently.

I believe Test had a mid six figure contract. Most of the divas are earning 150 to 200Gs a year but take home much less once you remove their constant hotel and travel expenses, not including Christy who obviously out-earns all the other Divas with her guaranteed contract. It's not hard to figure out the motivation to stay with a guy earning a fat pay packet that's built, even if they are creeps, whether said creep is Orton or Test.

It's this strange contrast of confidence and modesty that I like about Fedor. He can smash top class fighters, but still asks his fans "please support me". A class act through and through. I believe he is back in Holland right now improving his striking training with guys at the Vos Gym, Yvel and Hoost among them. -
Ribbing is playing a joke on someone eg Owen Hart filling someone's private locker room with animals from a local farm or calling ahead to cancel someone's hotel room. Shitting in someone's bag is just disgusting. It's not funny or creative, it's just a shit in a bag. Hardly laughs for miles. Stacy is an anorexic cockjumper based on people's pushes. I won't deny she's attractive to an extent, but it's no coincidence she dumped Test as soon as he got dropped by the company and started jumping Orton's bones soon after. It's still considered a rib by alot of workers. And how can you honestly say why Stacey and Test broke up? or Stacey and David Flair? It makes some sense to date other workers considering you're actually going to be around them alot. Test got fired. Maybe she didn't want to be in a relationship where she wouldn't see her boyfriend much. Maybe she put her career ahead of her personal relationship. 3 boyfriends in the course of the last few years doesn't make someone a cock jumper. And if she went with someone based on pushes she'd have dumped Test sooner when it became clear he was never going to get over. I despise when Smarks (or marks) make assumptions about people's personal lifes when we know nothing about them other than at best vague rumors. She's a cheerleader that got lucky and won a Nitro Girl search that then dated one of WCW's top stars sons, then one of the meatheads out of the Power Plant that was getting endlessly pushed despite failing to get over, then a solid midcarder and tag worker and is now humping one of the guys WWE are banking on for their future who gets away with murder practically. She can't cut a promo, she can't wrestle, she can't bump worth a damn and only gets a reaction when she shows off her ass. There is no reason for her to still be employed yet she is. After Test got released, even though the guy was still recovering from a BROKEN F'N NECK, she dumped him soon afterwards and got with Orton. As for putting her career before personal relationships... I think she actually has personal relationships to maintain her career from all appearances. And if you went to work and I shat on belongings and work, would you go "oh, you crazy cats with your practical jokes!" or would you want to kick my ass? These people are paid to tour and entertain fans at house shows and TV tapings, not deal with egotists crapping on their clothes because it humours them.

He's probably fucked a few rats and thinks he's the shit because of it. I doubt he's exactly ploughed supermodels by the dozen, more nailed some strippers and rats he's scored at clubs.

Wrestling may be the only vocation where you can shit on someone's personal property while at work and get away with it. I can't imagine a deparment manager shitting in an employee's suitcase and the victim being told by the CEO "you gotta pay your dues in this company".

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
cameron chaos replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
He's made some appearance on InsideFighting's MMA Evolution radio show where he's been hardly complimentary towards other fighters. He got interviewed on another site and when asked about his opinions about the MW division he said Team Quest were "boring pieces of shit" and he'd "knock the fuck out of Lay n Pray Lindland". I personally would like Hendo to have a word with him about that claim regarding TQ. I'd supply the link, but I just googled for it without any luck. Plus he challenged Lee Murray out of nowhere on the UG following Lee's UFC debut; Murray didn't even know who he was at the time or why some guy half the world away was talking shit about him. I don't dispute he's a hell of a fighter and is constantly improving, but right now he's Baroni with more skills.
