Have you heard his interviews or read some of his posts on the UG? The guy is an asshole. Whether he can back it up or not is neither here nor there, an asshole is an asshole. Fedor is one of the baddest guys around but you don't see him calling out people for no reason or calling them pieces of shit.

    Rumors

Then he's stupid. He's been buried as a face in recent months. A heel turn is needed before he is unover as he was when he came out with messy hair, slapping hands and doing that frogsplash cross body as a finisher.

Busta has been on a losing streak and while I believe he can win, given his age and current PRIDE record whether he will is a different matter. I certainly didn't expect Nakamura to own him given Rogerio had put him away previously, but he did. I expected Busta vs Hendo to be a war, a headbutt, hook and knee later he was out. While the Jackson decision is debatable (especially given the shorts thing that allowed Ramapage to get his breath back), not having a single win in 2 and a half years doesn't encourage me to believe he's as good a fighter as he once was. Riggs is a massive asshole and I'd like to see him get fucked up, but if has has taken Prangley's spot, he could take the fight. He's improved his sub defense and has retained his power despite dropping down weight classes so he could lay Salaverry out.

I guess they confused Hughes/Verissimo with Trigg/Verissimo. Babalu doesn't train BJJ and never has, he is a luta livre stylist that changed over to the Gracie Combat Team (their no gi vale tudo guys). He pulled off a stunning flotover guillotine choke on Cyrille Diabete that no one saw coming except Babalu and went the distance with Jeremy Horn, so his sub skills are definitely legit. Predictions: Fedor Emelianenko vs Tsuyoshi Kohsaka - Fedor by TKO -Ikuhisa Minowa vs Gilbert Yvel - Yvel by KO -Amar Suloev vs Paulo Filho - If Suloev shows the TD defense he did against Lister, this could be a long and boring fight. I'm gonna go with Suloev. -Murilo Bustamante vs Ryuta Sakurai - Busta is getting old but could still surprise. I think Ryuta is more likely to get a TKO or KO but Busta is more likely to get a sub. A decision would probably go to Ryuta. -Aleksander Emelianenko vs Ricardo Morais - Aleksander all the way, KO or sub is up to him. -Dean Lister vs Akira Shoji - Lister by sub. -Luiz Buscape Firminho vs Luiz Azeredo - Buscape by decision. -Daiju Takase vs Daniel Acacio - It's hard to bet against Takase, he has surprised me before... so I will go with him by sub or decision. Baroni, Ortiz and Belfort have all been approached by PRIDE for negotiations to appear in the MW GP. What use Baroni would be beyond a can is beyond me. -Randy Couture vs. Chuck Liddell - TKO or decision for Randy. -Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg - Trigg if he stays focused can take this. Hughes though does have the previous win and champ advantage. I'll go with Hughes. -Matt Lindland vs. Travis Lutter - If Lutter doesn't get the sub, I'll be surprised, though Lindland has been improving. It could go to Matt by TKO or Lutter by sub, but since I am hoping for an exciting fight, Lutter by sub. -Georges St. Pierre vs. Jason Miller - This should be a good fight. St Pierre by unrelenting beatdown. -Lee Murray vs. Patrick Cote - Cote should win this, but murray's hands could end it early for him. Despite that, I'll go with Cote by TKO or sub. -Mike Van Arsdale vs. John Marsh - It's good to see Van Arsdale back in there. I'm hoping for a sub or GNP finish from Van Arsdale rather than a decision, which Marsh has won by recently. -Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Travis Wiuff - Babalu by sub. -Trevor Prangley vs. Ivan Salaverry - I'll go with Salaverry even though I feel this one is hard to call, simply because that body lock he pulled off at his last UFC appearance was fucking badass.

    WWE to leave Spike TV

Word in MMA circles is an Ortiz vs Shamrock rematch may take place on Spike in the future if UFC gets Tito back under contraxt.

    Interesting Big Show interview

Akebonbo is a very big draw in Japan, even when he loses, due to their admiration for his sumo days and fighting spirit. It's entirely possible that with their poor US business, they are trying to appeal to international markets, and Akebono is definitely a marketable asset in Japan. Good interview. It's a shame his eyes are only open now after he has gained 120 lbs and has bum knees. He could have been a great monster wrestler.

    Austin/Owen Friction

I've heard tales of Shammy heelhooking and virtually crippling would be tough guys that have walked into the Lion's Den. Every MMA gym has to deal with them and it usually ends in the musclehead getting schooled technically (I've dealt with a few in the last three years myself) however rumours abound of Shammy and Guy Mezger injuring guys to show them who is the real tough guy. I wouldn't put it past Shammy to have resolved internally "he died doing what he loved, there is nothing to be sad about" given his screwed up mentality (claiming he stole Royce Gracie's fighting spirit, believing Tito Ortiz is nothing after getting his face beat into a new shape at his hands etc). Mezger too? That's disappointing, he seemed like a cool guy. From most accounts, dojos generally stretch new people, but they don't maliciously inted to hurt them. A good dojo will stretch a brash guy to put him in his place (I've cranked an armbar now and then to make a point) but anyone that will intentionally injure someone just to feed their ego or show the tough guy who is really top dog is an asshole. I was surprised to hear about Mezger also, but they are shootfight stylists rather than strict martial artists, I've known more than one shooter to pull tricks others won't out of respect, so it's not hard to believe.

Matt Hardy speaks on he and Lita splitting

I actually think he is enough of an innocent hick to have banked it all on Lita. Which is possibly to blame for him being in this situation to begin with. General rule of thumb: someone that lets others piss on them is probably not of high moral standing.

How much did HHH rip off

Not for the last few years but I'll bet alot of that has to do with him being off the gas. But for his overall career? Yeah, he's been injury-prone. I think he had a knee injury back in the summer of 1998, sometime after he beat The Rock at SS 98, or it could have been prior to that. I know he lost the IC belt not long after winning the Ladder Match at SS 98. He got injured so they ran an angle where Ken Shamrock slammed a car door on his knee during a Smackdown episode. I think they then ran a tourney on RAW which Shamrock won to get the IC title (if I remember correctly he beat X-Pac in the final).

How much did HHH rip off

Evolution vs Triple Threat HHH - Douglas Batista - Bam Bam Orton - Candido Flair - Rude Before DX oficially named themselves, I remember them throwing up the triple threat hand gesture a couple of times. They even swiped Rude from the TT. In terms of his ring style, he's definitely closer to Flair, Race and Michaels but in his mannerisms and promos (I remember thinking that "this is the genesis of Degeneration X" promo reminded me a bit of the infamous Douglas ECW change over with Michaels in place of the ECW title) I can see some similarities.

For fuck's sake, why would Bret need to bring the MTL screwjob up during this?!? The interview was in 1999 so he was still pretty bitter.

    Austin/Owen Friction

Bret Hart said in an interview during his WCW tenure Owen and HHH didn't like each other but worked together after Bret left because Bret said if Vince wouldn't let him out of his contract, to just do business rather than blackball himself by making problems. He said he heard about HHH crying on the tribute episode and it made him feel disgusted, that one of the guys who knew about the Montreal screwjob and had a hand in derailing Owen's push against Michaels, as he felt it was insincere and merely Hunter putting himself over. He also mentioned Rock, Foley and Jarrett called a couple of days after and they spoke about Owen with him and offered their condolences and he appreciated that.

The Greatest Rapper of All Time

That slays anything on LL's "Can-I-Bus" track. And as for Canibus coming back with something better, what about Rip The Jacker where he jacked LL's old beat? Rakim is definitely one of the greatest, he changed the whole game at the time he came through with his style. Shame the Dre deal went sour. Shadow, we gotta wait until September 13th til we're clear of them, sadly.

The Greatest Rapper of All Time

You buy their hype as much as they do. Jay may claim to be the best rapper alive, but he knows who was the best ever. Have you not listened to "A Dream" from Blueprint 2? LL as the greatest of all time? Bullshit. Just because he named an album that, a shit album at that, doesn't make it so. In fact, he should probably get slapped for giving that abomination that title. Canibus killed him and he isn't even one the best out there, even though he too acknowledges Biggie was the best, in the same song no less (hence the title of this thread). LOX were on Bad Boy, D Block is the LOX plus Jae Hood, Hood was never on Bad Boy. Plus LOX were repping RR as a crew before they got scooped up and signed by Puff. Jadakiss spoke about it after the label move in XXL I believe. Pac hated Dre after he walked out on Death Row, haven't you ever listened to "Toss It Up"? You seem to hardly have a clue what you are talking about. If Big hadn't died, maybe we wouldn't have had to deal with all those eighties remix rap songs Puff put out and launched his career off while Biggie's body was still cooling. If Pac were alive, maybe we'd get new material rather than remixes of old stuff and hatchetjobs with old acappellas.

    Christy Hemme on Howard Stern

That first picture is not attractive. She looks like a poster child for teenage anorexia. Playboy were very kind to her. Is anyone else amazed they cut half the women's division to pay give this chick the juiciest contract a female has got since Chyna despite the facts she is thick as shit, can't wrestle, can't cut a promo and can't even pull off the one move she has been asked to do so far right? I mean, I'm not expecting them to bring in AJW women, but at least invest in someone that isn't a complete waste except for being used as a promotional tool who is embarassingly bad in that role as well.

    Christy Hemme on Howard Stern

Most of us have access to porn or actual women. We watch wrestling because we enjoy watching wrestling, if we want big boobed women wearing very little or nothing we can google for pictures or get a porno. I doubt any of us dislike women in wrestling, what I think the majority dislike is women that add nothing taking up time on the shows that present the the actual wrestling product that we do enjoy. There is a time and a place for talentless dumbass women that look good that you'd like to screw, but Wrestlemania is not it. It's her first match and it's on the biggest card of the year. Pros that have been on the roster for years lose a spot (and large payday) to her, a woman who hasn't proven anything except she needs to switch to decaf and that she has less common knowledge at her disposal than an 11 year old. All in all, it's a real insult to all the people that can wrestle and have worked hard that are being passed over for some ditz they hired for her looks that probably doesn't know a wristlock from a wristwatch. Did she answer that?

    Christy Hemme on Howard Stern

Anyone that expected anything from Christy intellectually given she jumps around like an ADD sufferer on meth and won a glorified "which of these is going to pose next for Playboy" contest is expecting too much. It's not like she qualified based on scholastic achievements. She sat on a fucking cream pie for male attention on TV, for crying out loud. That's hardly the mark of a genius.

    Cheer up emo kid

What does that even mean? As opposed to brand x people? And if you are looking to group people, what about pop teens, pramfaces, "lads", goths, punk posers, indie kids, scousers... all are around in Britain. And Welsh people aren't normal. Just watch and listen to them. No one that produces that much saliva when talking can be 100% normal. Also, for clarification, these are what chavs look like. So like wiggers, except Nike instead of Sean John.

    Cool finishers

The sugarhold (seated full nelson, Stu Hart's old move, like a camel clutch) would work and is much less escapable. It will legitimately seperate the vertebrae in someone's back if you pull up the body and push down the back of their head. Why not a tiger suplex pin after the full nelson?

    Cool finishers

A wrestling guillotine, basically an abdominal stretch with a crossface on the mat. Looks cool and is legitimately nasty if done right. Plus it can roll right into a pin.
