I'd like to think the JLA should be the most powerful team in the DCU. Two Kryptonians on one team being unnecessary? I'd say a new JLA needs all the powerful figures it can get. Vixen is a bootleg Animal Man... like that's an asset. Why not just have Aquaman again. Even better, why not have Firestorm who can basically do whatever the fuck they want even if it breaks the laws of physics. Looking at the variant cover you can sort of see where John Stewart was pencilled over into Black Lightning.
-
Why have two Green Lanterns on the same team? That line up is preferable but doesn't make much sense. If Green Arrow is being veto'd from the team the impending storylines must suck. Vixen... seriously, that's some shit.
-
It also seems "Shogun"/Coleman was originally planned for The Real Deal but due to Sylvia and UFC backing out of negotiations Coleman got bumped up to the main event and Randleman got plugged in against "Shogun" instead.

GSP not fighting in September???
cameron chaos replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
It should be sometime towards the end of this week when we'll know if GSP is cleared medically to compete. I'm hoping he will be. Diego's coach Greg Jackson said on our radio show with DeSantis and Gross that while Diego is capable of taking the title, they want to work on gameplans to deal with both guys (Hughes and GSP) so I don't see Diego taking a title fight before the beginning of the new year. His striking is not on GSP's level and GSP's takedown defense has improved greatly in the last year due to training with the Canadian National Wrestling Team and going to Renzo's academy in New York so if Alessio could stuff Diego's attempts, GSP would likely shrug them off with even more ease. Hughes' core strength is arguably the best in the business and his submissions and sub defense have improved a tremendous amount in the last three years. His wrestling is miles beyond Diego so I can't see Diego winning even if it goes to a decision. -
New news if anyone cares since my previous posts were ignored: Apparently PRIDE wanted to book Sylvia vs F. Emelianenko on their The Real Deal card in return for allowing Silva to appear on a UFC card. Tim and his management declined the deal even though it is alleged PRIDE were willing to pay his fight earnings + win bonus to fight Fedor, regardless of if he won or not. So understandably PRIDE were upset: they were willing to let their MW champ be out at risk but Dana and Miletich wouldn't let UFC's heavyweight champ be put at risk, even though it's Sylvia that has called out Fedor and labelled him "a little shit". So, it seems that what from I have heard Dana basically screwed himself by not willing to put the money up to pay PRIDE fighter level wages and allow his HW champ to put his reputation on the line after calling out and insulting PRIDE's heavyweight champion. it was Sylvia's failure to agree to appear for PRIDE that led to PRIDE contacting Mark Coleman as a late replacement.

VIXEN? HAWKGIRL? RED TORNADO? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Morrison's original lineup was tight. I'd have dug Firestorm, Captain Marvel and Martian Manhunter a lot more. Vixen... motherfuckers. Over Power Girl? Crack must be real cheap around DC... oh wait.
-
It seems Dana wanted PRIDE to pay half of Wand's salary and PRIDE basically have said "If he is on your show, you should pay him. We paid for your fighters to appear on our shows, you should pay for ours to appear on your show. Why should we pay half his wage when he is not fighting on our show and you are the one who wanted to book the fight?" Apparently UFC wouldn't book Baroni against Rich Franklin which has also annoyed PRIDE since they are risking the reputation of one of their champions but UFC is unwilling to risk the reputation of Franklin even in a non title match.
-
Apparently the negotiations are currently off because UFC does not want to match PRIDE's fight purse for Wand and PRIDE wants a cut of the PPV revenue. Dana basically announced the fight while negotiations were ongoing. If Wand is healthy after the OWGP he's likely to be used for PRIDE's USA debut now. I think Dana basically jumped the gun by announcing the match up before contracts had been signed and also shot himself in the foot by doing so. I can't really blame PRIDE for wanting a decent amount of money for their MW champion to compete and for themselves considering the financial setback of losing their Japanese TV deal with Fuji TV.

Roids explains the jaw (seriously, I've seen boxers with less square chins) and the pronounced brow but not the neck wrinkles.

I'll see about digging up that Vibe article. If that is the case, I'd still be thinking twice, it's the whole hydra cliche. Suge Knight ain't got fuck all right now really but I wouldn't mouth off to him either. If Luda and T.I. are cool now, then that only leaves the Snowman as far as I can tell. Jeezy talked some shit about slinging crack in XXL recently so maybe that bugged Luda, who knows. I've heard "I'm Talking To You" but that shit was weird, he sounded like he was gunning for someone but then went "Oh, no, no one in particular, I was looking to see if anyone would respond though." I thought that might have been the publicity stunt Luda mentions in "War With God". Both Jada's albums went platinum even if it was at a slow pace so he's hardly slept on. Styles P is though. Only his recent CD went platinum. But as The LOX him, Styles and Sheek have 2 platinum albums. I thought Kiss Tha Game Goodbye had went platinum in the long term, my bad. Was it Livin' off Experience that went platinum? That'd explain them blowing up at Puff on the radio.

Brooke has more creases on her neck than I do and I am 5 years older than her. Tanning every other day just like your parents, one of whom is known as the Orange Goblin, is bad, mmkay?

Check Luda's "War With God". Already done. http://www.ohhla.com/anonymous/ludacris/re...ar_with.crs.txt While I think Luda went at T.I. with that song, he's denying it as of now. He said on MTV that the song was about himself. Yeah right Luda, just come out and said it was directed to T.I. and get it over with. By the way, has anyone seen Luda's new haircut? Personally think it was aimed at Jeezy. Luda must be on some Manhattan Brown if he thinks anyone buys he was dissing himself as it's clear he was speaking from his perspective. That's fucking stupid. Only reason I can imagine he'd say that is because T.I. has got a lot of love since Luda first dropped the "Stomp (Remix)" track. Luda is not stupid enough to be thinking he can bang with Jeezy. Jeezy ain't the best MC but he's G'd up with the BMF. BMF > DTP and Luda is hopefully smart enough to realise that. Then again, he's stupid enough to think people will buy he wasn't going at anybody but himself so who knows?

what a 50 fanboy. the worst fanboy. he's sullied up the entire concept of a beef. face it, 50 is more emo than gangsta anymore. he whines & whines about nothing. he TRIES to pick beefs, yet they go nowhere because rappers laugh it off. he's a parody now. what happened to his little attack on jay? boy, he sure did HIM in. what about nas? 50 is going to be as irrelevent as em in a few years. haven't we learned that its jay running the game now? its always been. jay could take game in right now & make him a bigger star than 50 could ever imagine. You say 50 tries to pick beefs and youre defending The Game? When The Game debuted he basically tried to pick a beef with every rapper he possibly could. Yukmouth, Joe Budden, Jay-Z, the list goes on and on, he was just calling out random people to make a name for himself. Saying 50 will be as irrelevant as Nas is a joke.. nas is a great rapper but he has no idea how to make a hit. 50 has his finger on the pulse of whats hot and that's why he will continue to own the charts. Jay could make him a star? haha, please. Like he made Memphis Bleek a star right? Or Beanie Segal (yeah hes had jail problems, but having a rapper who's been in trouble with the law should be instant $$$). The most successful guy Jay has had on his label is Young Jeezy and that had absolutely nothing to do with Jay. 50 Cent has made everyone associated with him a household name. You can't expect everyone on the label to go platinum and double platinum. The problem with those albums was there was a G-Unit oversaturation for a minute there.. 50, Yayo & Mobb Deep's albums all came out way too close together. But dont let yourself get fooled.. Buck and Banks WILL go plat. The Massacre sold more than Curtain Call & Get Rich or Die Tryin sold more than Encore. 50 is a bigger star than Eminem right now, there is no doubt about it. Game wouldnt even have a album if 50 didn't write all his hooks for him. All his hype was because of G-Unit. His two songs with 50 Cent tore up the charts, his other two were total flops. Without 50 Cent, Game would have just been another Cali rapper doing the tired ass G-Funk crap and he would have faded away quickly. How many units have Olivia, Mobb Deep, Spider Loc, Tony Yayo, Murda Mase and M.O.P. shifted? Less than 2 mill? Why's that? Because they waiting for the heat to die down 'cause they seen G-Unit has got a backlash on 'em and they can't push units like they did when they broke in with Banks, Buck and 50. Yayo ain't commercial, Mase is DED, Olivia ain't got nothing, Spider Loc ain't shit and M.O.P's best effort was with Flipmode backing them. Aftermath is already reloading with dude's like G.A.G.E. because they see the writing on the wall. Fact is, streets is talking and they ain't backing these faces no more, no matter how hard XXL runs with them. 50's talk without walking the walk has worn thin except within the pop circle and yeah, they'll snap his shit up, but they'll snap up Jessica Simpson and Kelly Clarkson too so it ain't even really hood, it's numbers from the chart dumbasses. MC Burial by Nas killed 50 in the streets straight up, now Nas got Jay with him he ain't even interested no more because Jay and Freeway got a deal with G Unit and 50 ain't that dumb to bite the hand of the king of the rap game right now. Game made mucho money for Interscope out the gate and doesn't have the heat on him 50 does so I can see him benefitting from his new deal as much as 50 wants to talk it up how he'll always own him. Whatever, that's black and white print, economics say if he's shifted label the only people likely to benefit are the featured artists, prodcuers label head and company boss. So 50's talking shit if he says he's gonna profit from Game's move, the facts don't add up, it's just more BS from the dude who claims he'll KO dudes and ain't scared of no man when he rolls around with 30 bodyguards. If Ghostface can spark him out clean I doubt he's as hard as he claims, 'roids might boost Busta and 50's bodies but you can't toughen up your jaw. T.I. has got tucked in by Ludacris lately so he isn't even an issue in my view. As for Jay signing Fallout Boy, "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man." Jay sees money in them and if he can make some off them he'll lock it down, it just makes sense whether he likes them or not. They get radio/video play and sell major numbers so why would he not strike while the iron is hot? Rick Ross = Baby = Master P. Poor lyricism but catchy flow for his time.

You do realise that's a Photoshop mocked up on the Cagewarriors forum and then used in Fighters Only magazine's SPAM! back page, right? I mean, look at the torsos as they enter the water. It's cut like pinkerton scissors were used, the actual photo is from a shot taken earlier this year after Shogun had recovered from surgery. -

Now you're giving MMA more credit than it deserves, shitty booking by people who don't know jack about wrestling is the main reason why attendance is down in the WWE, I mean do you think Mobile Alabama draws less because MMA is popular in Japan? Come on now. I said Japanese MMA boom. There is a reason guys like Bas Rutten. Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Sylvester Terkay (who first appeared on a K-1 card after WWE released him initially), Rodrigo Noguiera (under a mask) and Bob Sapp crossed over and appeared on wrestling events and why guys like Sakuraba and Fujita participate in MMA rather than the arguably safer confines of wrestling, it's because MMA is where the money is at for the most part these days. I'm not expecting what happens in one country's culture to apply to another and I don't think I indicated that either. I suspect you have read what you wanted to in this case, I didn't suggest that Japanese business had an effect on US business anywhere in my posts. -

A proper proper toehold will break someone's ankle if they are comitted to torquing on the hold. All it takes it the proper amount of pressure and they will be on crutches for 6-8 months. A proper armbar will hyperextend the elbow joint and invert it. If a person doesn't tap they could need reconstructive surgery and ligament transplant surgery which can shelve them for 3-6 months. The fujiwara armbar, when fully commited to, will invert the shoulder joint much like "the rack" omoplata variation. Again, 6-8 months rehab. Why do you think wrestling attendances have suffered since the post 2000 MMA boom in Japan? Because people can see what is real and what isn't in a "competitive sport" that is entertainment and a real competitive sport. Promotions like Hustle haven't helped either, although maybe that was DSE's intention to begin with. In reality, bones break, joints invert and ligaments tear if people do not tap. In wrestling, tap outs happen when they are most dramatic. Wrestling is not reality and has not pretended to be for 9 years, why try integrate any into it now? -
Chuck Norris would have done a better job.

Guilt in watching mma? If anything, a guilt for watching pro wrestling exists as it has always been a embarassment even during the peak points of business. MMA doesn't give fans a reason to feel guilty watching it. MMA doesn't have a negative side to it like pro wrestling generates. Pro wrestling, has been viewed as a low class market (with supporting numbers to back it up). So where is the guilt in MMA fandom now? In the early form of MMA, when it was decried as human cockfighting...that statement had more ground but not anymore. I'm pretty much talking about bringing new fans in. There are a lot of people that are just plain out disgusted from the violence of MMA. This is not an opinion but one hundred percent fact. If MMA wants to strive to be as popular as possible than they have to get past that hurdle. It's probably their biggest obstacle. And don't kid yourself. There are fans who feel somewhat guilty from watching the product. Then they shouldn't watch it. If they watch it and feel bad, that's their own stupidity for not using a remote control for it's appropriate purpose. Don't kill the messenger just because you don't like what they deliver. Only 3 people have died as a result of competing in MMA, 2 of them were not medically cleared and none of the deaths occured in events sanctioned by state or national sports commitees. All of the fatalities have occured in unsanctioned events. Fatalities in sanctioned amateur and professional boxing, pro wrestling, pro wrestling training camps, American football, international soccer, hockey and even golf outnumber in thousands compared to the deaths in sanctioned MMA bouts: that number remains at 0. So technically, you should feel more guilty watching those sports than you should watching a sanctioned MMA event. -

As a fan of the sport and practitioner of martial arts this is stupid to me. Anyone that gets in a cage or ring does so of their own free will, has to meet certain medical and physical expectations and generally has enough amateur competitive experience to warrant an organisation and promoter booking them. If you feel any guilt knowing two adults who have chosen to compete are fighting and one guy is bound to lose one way or the other, you lack sack and respect for their individual responsibility. -

So you like a mix but with consistency then... so do I. Which is why I don't want to see an armbar that could finish as a transitional move in wrestling but a submission that can be easily countered used as a finisher. -

Having Puder show up as the guy to take out Angle while he was running his hometown hero challenge was the most perfect angle they never pulled off. Instead we got Eugene. Way to go, WWE. Exactly. The angle was right there to capitalise on. Instead they paid him a quarter mill and released him early rather than setting up a possible asset to the company for future stardom. Even if Puder lost the match and went to OVW for further training after Angle "broke his ankle like that punk tried to break my arm" it would have at least made things more interesting for a few months. If they want to go shoot style, go shoot style. But don't have one guy winning via kimura like Terkay when the next match has someone leaping off and bouncing around the ring ropes. -

cameron chaos replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't see why they bother. Vince's "shades of grey" speech in '97 basically established the worked nature of the business by the company president. Their choice to not acknowledge Puder's kimura on Angle which could have been played into a decent angle (Olympic wrestler vs Shootfighter a la Jackson vs Shamrock) indicated a lack of desire to pursue anything "real" even in a worked environment. Hell, the fact anyone even bounces off the ropes shows how fake it is. I'd say they are better off leaving wrestling as false violence for entertainment with "storylines" filling the gaps than trying to integrate realism into it when it's been established time and time again it isn't real at all. Jindrak and Jordan used one punch finishers for a while but wrestling fans don't mark for them because they are conditioned to the spectacle of wrestling and take springboard maneuvers as being more effective. HHH's knees are transitional moves even though if real they'd probably knock most guys goofy. There's no point in being selective in enforcing "reality", in the end it will make their attempts to do so look even more ridiculous.
